I think the option to make your font brightly coloured should be removed. Due to the fact that it  it very discomforting to look at it and colour blind people can't read it.

The colours I think should be removed:

Green  Pink  Cyan  Yellow

They burn your eyes especially when people put them in big, bold fonts.

I agree!

I don't even see them, But I agree. I have a problem with those kinds of things, and the sort, so now everything (everything) is black with yellow writing. Because of the white screen itself, but gah! When I have to use a computer that's white, and the letters are these bright streaming colours it's like gahhhhh *saveee meee*

(Totally agrees<3).

One thing that is really annoying about these colours is that people put their text in these bold bright colours for no paticular reason, I understand that Fox enjoys them, but people do alot of this:

lol, thats funny.

AAH! My eyes! D:

That or some kinda way to turn them off, if possible. Like in the forum preferences? Then all the posts will just be plain text like this, no eye-bleeding colors or godzilla sized fonts.

I think they should just get rid of the blinding colors.

Especially when people use them for no reason, just to burn your eyes -.-

I think there should be a rule against posting in large, colourful text for no particular reason. This type of text should be allowed for announcements.

This is good:

Attention: I will be away for a while

Bad:

I want a liyure!

What about making it an option for people to 'see bright colours' in the forums are to just keep it to 'dark colours' rather than get rid of it, have something flipped on or off so if you want to see them, see them, and if you don't...you don't...won't stop you from seeing the huge text, but its better than everyone losing out. Like a fair  compromise. (Of course someone has to do the coding for all that...) But still, if they can code smiley's I'm sure they can do that with colours...

Like I know I've mentioned this before, but I haven't seen any bright colours at all, I didn't see the 'Blindage' post, because I can't see those colours, because my whole computer is in 'High Contrast' mode and I am using a browser that switches to my contrast. And that's because bright colours and lighting hurt my brain/eyes.

I think we shouldn't be so selfish, and be more considerate of other users who use this site, whose eyes flare with pain and strain because some 'inconsiderate' decided it would be fun or 'more' noticeable (notice me! kinda post) to post in big shiny colourful colours regardless of the person above them saying, 'It hurts my eyes and makes it hard for me to read what you're saying'.

This is a community used by more than just 'us'. And the 'flashing colours' should be a.) removed since the only person its hurting is those people who don't have enough 'colour' in their lives vs. the people who genuinely struggle to read/it hurts when you post those texts. or b.) the option for us to turn on do we want to see 'bright and dark text' or do we want to see just the 'dark text'.

Since a majority of people who use this shouldn't have to revert to high contrast (since most sites are not friendly to that sort of thing and most of those people don't need it to the same extent that 'high contrast' is used for, not just for 'one site'), when the problem in this case is just the 'text' itself.

I don't think its too much ask to either refrain from using it when its not really necessary or to get rid of it, or to just 'turn it off or on'.

But wouldn't it be hard for the staff to code

"Doesn't allow users to post bright colors text" ?

Down with
See, look at how useful they are! I could write anything and certain members wouldn't be able to read it! Why would you want to remove this feature? :P

Well it would be if they didn't know what they were doing, but if they can code that option and other advanced features, i'm sure they can turn off coloured text in the forum or make that optional too?

You guys can simply ask the user not to do those things or post like that but I do agree. Everytime some post brightly. I have to highlight it. =/

We kinda did I think, like this whole post has been about how it bothers some people, and yet as you can see there are still people who are posting it in bright colours either because as they've stated it's fun, or to make points like 'why would anyone want to remove this feature' to be silly when we just stated why...because it hurts. The only other way if people insist on doing it I think would be to remove the option, or to give us an option to turn off what we see or not so that everyones happy(?).
