Secrets of the Vale-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Holidays321 has begun an event!--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   As
the visitor obtained the other Golden book, it lied dormant in her hands. Upon being opened, the pages glistened just as the cover did. As the visitor's nails came down upon the glossy pages, the book seemed to hiss and shriek horribly. The pages suddenly flip wildly and a great wind picks up in the vale. Off in the distance you see a tree suddenly uproot through some sort of pressure under the ground. Rocks, turf, and plants fly up into the air from the hole that now lies in the ground. The golden tome opens up and bends back its bindings, suddenly emitting a whirlwind of golden magical essence that flies past the auction and other visitors and burrows itself into the new hole in The Vale. Suddenly you can hear growls and shrieks from under the ground. Your golden tome closes shut, quivering on the ground at your feet. There is no major damage other than the pages suddenly blackening to a smokey grey color. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Something is coming from an open Portal link!

Events are sparked on a very very rare occasion, though it seems you have angered the magic souls within your book. It may not reveal new actions for a while, or until you have proven some sort of feat to them. Events may alter the environment in some way, or affect the visitor, or even open links from another Portal, in which sometimes creatures will break through.
It appears that The Vale may soon have some visitors. We will need all the help we can get when that time comes. During a massive event, users are allowed to interact with the environment, but only when it is necessary. Once a post is made that calls for the visitors to take action, you may write your action.
Creatures from other portals can be captured, defeated, or turned away in some manner with the help of the visitors. If these creatures are captured, you may purchase them as companions instantly with no waiting period, though there will be a limited amount of them available, and because they are wild, you can only keep one of each encounter. Everyone has a chance to get one if they are captured. They will often be cheaper than the creatures that are paid for with the auctions. If the creatures are defeated, visitors may opt to scrounge through the battle zone and collect various items. you will search the rubble and remains of the creatures and find up to 3 items, decided upon by percentages. If the creatures are turned away, there may be damages to the current area, but they will be gone for the time being. However there is an increased chance to activate a swarm encounter like that again if they are simply turned away.
Remember not to god mod, and treat it exactly like how your action may be with your items. Use only your whits, items that may be found around you, or you can even opt to 'search', in which you have a percentage to find a useful item like a weapon or a capturing device. If you find a capturing device, Mangodile will be able to assist in capturing the entire swarm. Weapons are used to defeat only one creature at a time, but most lesser creatures will flee if another has been felled.
Once the post has been made in which you can interact with this encounter, I will explain more about how to do this. :)
Consider this book as part of your Inventory. Write all new additions down somewhere so you remember you have them, in case I forget them.

I really like how your adoption center works, it's really creative and unique. Lol, I can't wait to find out what happened. It seems quite interesting.

The visitors gawk in amazement as the hole linking The Great Tree's portal to another gapes open wider, suddenly a thick blurred smokey form shoots up from the hole. The air is filled with ravenous shrieks and the heavy beating of leathery wings. A swarm seems to be approaching to auction stands...you cannot make out what sort of creature it is yet. Mangodile senses the danger and realizes that the fruit and inhabitants of The Great Tree are in great danger.
This is a call to arms, visitors! Inform your friends to join us in the defense of The Great Tree! We will fight where we stand, or attempt to capture or thwart the beasts that are headed our way! Make your preparations, friends. Search the ground, skies, trees, even your bags and find something to help us!Will you search for weapons?~Or~ Will you search for capturing tools?

Cloaked mouth hung open as a swarm of something blotted the sun out. He heard Mangodile say something about weapons but Cloaked had other ideas. Looking around, he tries to think quickly of something that would be helpful in capturing one of these creatures. He decides to head deeper into the woods in hopes of finding some vines or something else equally useful. |

One of the visitors manages to find something to craft a net. Her net is extremely well made and surely will not fail! She has wielded herself with it and prepared for the Swarm's arrival!

The Blessed visitor has used his cunning to build a net from the lush forests of The Great Tree. He has made a highly efficient net as well, although because it is made from the the natural vines and twigs of some of the fruit trees, it may attract more of the hoard toward you! Be on your guard, visitor.

The next visitor attempts to find something to capture the oncoming swarm with. She scrounges around and stumbles upon some weak twigs and fodder. Her net is below average quality, and will not last very long. Stay close to shelter, Shadow, for you may have to defend yourself!

Cloaked eyes his net with a bit of pride. Now he hopefully knew instinctively how to wield it. He picks it up and mentally prepares for the creatures to attack. |

I have updated the first section of posts, explaining various rules and methods for the upcoming Swarm event.
If anyone wishes to change their method, you may do so now.
I can hint to you that this swarm will be bountiful...only two of you here, it will take quite a while to overcome this. If the others come around, hopefully they will join in.
It is completely free to participate in an event.

I was hoping to post the swarm tonight, but it may not happen til tomorrow or very late at night. I'm afraid I have things to take care of at my parents house. So you guys just sit tight. Hopefully we'll get more visitors to participate!

You can indeed try if you want, but I can tell you that no visitor will ever be able to fully understand the language presented in the various books. There are discoveries available to be able to decipher some patterns in texts, revealing certain words or contexts, and some companions can read them, but find it difficult to translate it to our world's languages. The language is pure and ancient. It cannot be fully decoded, though visitors are free to try. In some cases, finding out certain patterns of words may be useful in future events or other Portals.

The Swarm is Upon Us

The blurred cloud of creatures come closer to the auction grounds. As visitors prepare for battle, the shrieking heightens in volume. The creatures' forms can be made out a bit more clearly, though are still too far to see any details. There appear to be 12 forms in the air...Mangodile takes notice with horror. With so many, there is sure to be damage if the visitors cannot control the swarm in time.
Prepare yourselves, visitors. Stand at the line of battle. All visitors available need to arm themselves, and quickly! If any visitors come in while the battle is engaged, please, take arm! Choose a weapon or net, and join us in defense against the swarm.

Cloaked notices that he is to late to join the group. He would never make it in time. He decides to make a stand right where he is and holds the net close to him, silently hoping the others would be fine. He holds the net over his head, waiting.

Cloaked- I'm sorry but what did you mean by that one? I assumed you were already in the group. The Swarm is closer, but not quite here yet. There will be a very big post when it is here. It will be posted between 30 minutes to an hour.
I just wanted to be sure you didn't think you missed out on something. Like if you wanted to pick up a weapon instead or something.
