Well, my three year old phone is heading towards the graveyard. (Technology hates my guts, lol.) o3o Sound system is dead so I can't use my alarm, get text alerts, or call anyone, and the keyboard backlight is dying as well.

Problem is, this phone is my first, and only phone, so I don't exactly know what to expect/look for in a new phone other than a few things.

I've got Verzion, so I'm considering the Droid 3 because it's got a QWERTY keyboard because I'm hesitant about going touch screen. (My soon to be previous phone only had a number pad, which was a pain.) I'd also really like to be able to get on the web, get apps, and use Skype, if at all possible. (Is the Droid able to get stuff from the Apple App store? Or can only the iPhone do that?)

I looked on Verizon and saw some pretty mixed reviews about the Droid 3. The main problem people had is the battery life, which is a bit of an issue for me. I have over an hour bus ride both to and from school, so if it's only got two hours of battery life, It might die on me in the afternoons.

Anyways, my main reason for this thread is to ask if anyone has any experience with the Droid 3 or other phones I might consider?

I have a verizon phone. Mine is older though. Its an LG Cosmos. I can leave my phone on all day and night. Its pretty good. I havn't had any problems with it so far and i've had it for just about a year? My dad has the 1st droid that came out. I don't know how he likes it though. He does complain its to blocky and big though so.

Other than that. I can't really offer any phone suggestions. Since mine is sorta old technology. *Is guilty of not updating as often as she should*

Coots: I don't mind bias, I'm looking for people's opinions on phones and what they like/don't like about them. If you like the Blackberry, please tell me why. :3

I have the DroidX, and it works pretty well for me.

The touchscreen keyboard really isn't a pain, it's the AutoCorrect that I hate D<

But anyways, GL c:

Ah, I hate Blackberries so much. o3o They're more work phones in my opinion and I believe I read somewhere that they're eventually going to stop making them because the Droid's are going to take everything over. xD

Oh and you can't get stuff from the Apple store, Loki. It doesn't run with Apple.

You have what's called the Droid Market, but you can still get Skype and stuff like that. Basically the same apps, but it's built for the different software.

I have an LG EnV Touch. o3o  It's very good, and flips out for a full QWERTY keyboard. :D  It's a touch screen, hence the name, but the touch is just... not very good. xD;  I mean, it works, but it's not as sensitive a touch as most other touchscreen phones out there.  And sometimes I have to stab the thing (but that's only like twice a year or something).  It has the Media Center, where you can get games and stuff (including Skype!), music, internet, texting, calling, camera, and the like. o3o  The touch is my only peeve about it.  Battery life will certainly last you long.  Lasts for me a long time, anyways.  But if you stick aroudn on YouTube or any spot on the internet for long enough, it'll consume your battery.  But you'll get at least an hour or more out of internet with the full battery.  Other things don't deplete it as much, though I'm not sure about Skype and other games ('cause I dun got them D: ).  I've had it for almost two years now, and it's quite a good phone. <3

However, I'm getting the iPhone 4 for my birthday on the 10th <3<3<3

If ya gots any extra questions, I be happy to answer dems. :D

I have a Samsung Galaxy mini. New phone for Sweden after my brother lost his international one. It does have a touch-screen (no unfoldable keyboard D<) but you can flip it sideways to type more easily and the auto-correct can be disabled. I can easily surf the web + there's the android app market (mine is an android) which I'm pretty sure you can buy Skype on.

Hold music, takes pictures, has facebook and a g-mail/e-mail thing installed with it so you don't need to download that. The internet is speedy, and unlike my dad's Blackberry, it supports the original format. Makes surfing Res a pain but it's great for google etc.

I personally love this thing. I have a battery that lasts the entire school day even if I use it regularly. Granted my school day is like, four or five hours long, but as long as I keep the screen black it uses minimal power.
