Chinchilla Help!!

My chinchillas tail got caught and the tip of it came off. And i was wondering if his tail will grow back and if he will be ok.I need to know because im worried and we dont have the money for a vet right now... :(

I tried to do some searching but all I found is that you would take him to the vet to make sure the tail doesn't get an infection.  If you can't, then perhaps you can banage it up and try to make sure it doesn't drag in dirty places so bacteria doesn't get on it.  Sorry I can't help much.  This is the best I could find:

Okay, heres what you do. it might sting to her, but swab it with a cotton ball with Hydrigon poroxide, and bandage it up with gauze. it wont grow back, but it will heal itself, and she should be fine :)

Ha ha, tail growing back? Is it a gecko or something? Seriously, a tail growing back for a mammal like a chinchilla is unscientific. It's a bone that's missing and those things don't come back. But I say a tailess chinchilla would be cute, it'll give him some charm. I wouldn't do the peroxide if I were you, the vet's the best option. It's a pretty serious thing so I wouldn't risk it. Peroxide might burn into it and make it worst.

ping, first of all, thats rude. and it was just the tip, and it happened to mine, and thats what the vet said to do.
