I was wondering if I was doing it wrong or using the wrong type. I thought it took a dye kit and a natural squishy for it to combine correctly. Am I doing something wrong? Does it go in a specific order?

It's a dye kit squishy + natural creatu squishy. You can create the dye kit squishies under games --> quest.
