No there isn't a way to delete an account, I believe.
You could always send in a support ticket, though.

There is no way to delete your account yourself, and Staff will not do it for you.
If you don't want to stay, just leave.

Grave and Flo are right. There is no way to delete an account nor will staff ever delete or ban an account upon the user's request. It is upon the prerogative of the user to leave the account if he/she is not interested with the site anymore. Deletion of account is not done for there could come a time when some users would decide to come back.
