Saying something has to be brand spanking new to be published is difficult. Anything recent that happens here, like new staff and new site features, is put in the Rescreatu updates (so we don't need to read a paper about them) and if an update that's been out for a week is already old news, that doesn't give much leeway for people to write about it.
Whereas things like user shops and battling are all technically old news since that stuff has been out for a while and most articles concerning those would probably be a review sort of thing. =/
Mah. There IS stuff. Battling has not been out for like a year of two OR three. And yes, I know. I am not looking for stuff that is in updates. I have user opinions. Contests. Raffles. Advertising and more.
I have heard rumors about some new things that might happen. Things like THAT is what I'm looking for.
I like what Jenny said, about it being a tabloid/gossip magazine instead. I may consider becoming a writer seeing as how it looks like "The Weekly Res" has enough staff members already. o3o
*Edit: Also, Dogpaw, there's more that one newspaper in the real world, wouldn't hurt to have more than one on res as well. ;)
