She read the note, nodded, and said, "If you don't get a job, you could always call me. I can set you up with a great modelling agency. You look like the kind that would do good in that profession. I work there too." Rain winked at Nick, writing her number on the piece of paper that he had handed her, signing her name beside it, which was only her first name, given that she had no actual last name.

She watched him start coughing and frowned. "I'm so sorry about the cigarette smoke. I really need to stop that. Here, do you need to get out of the alley?" she asked, offering him her hand in case he needed help up.

((Sorry I thought I had replied to this before, guesses it didn't send.))

Nick looked to the girl with a raised brow. Modeling? That's a new one. Who'da thought that would be the sort of job offer I got. He took the note and stuffed it in his pocket, avoiding comment on his thoughts. He nodded at her comment to escape the alley and almost immediately started walking home.

When he got to his apartment  building he stopped, looked back at her, then mentally smacked himself. Jesus, seriously? You lead a girl you meant fifteen minutes ago to your home, and you weren't at a ((For website sake I'll let you fill this in yourself.)). How does a person do THAT unintentionally?  Pulling his composure together he tried to make it seem causal. He opened the door of the apartment building for her, then scanned them into the first floor.

His apartment was three to the left and quite the mess. Upon opening it, the smell of scented cat litter wafted through the halls, and a black hairball ran to the door. He kicked aside the extra shoes in the shoe mat so Rain had room for hers if she wanted, then grabbed the empty pizza box from the cupboard and quickly stashed it away. He threw his coat on the chair and kicked the socks beside the sofa underneath it. Then he patted the sofa allowing her to make herself at home.

Looking at the decor, three things were obvious about him: One, he had a love for music. Their was a violin case open, insterment half rested in it laying about on the opposite side of the sofa. His walls had old fashioned records pinned to every corner, and half the books on his coffee table were filled with music or music. His CD shelf was full and there was next to no movies. Number two was that he was highly disorganized. The table and his desk were both littered with papers of a verity of sorts (including but not limited to this month's hydro bill, a drawing from his youngest cousin, and a a print out poster for big band he had yet to hang), he had food packages he had forgotten to throw out on every surface, and you couldn't walk without tripping on a cat toy.

The last thing, and perhaps the most unusual that spoke words about him, was that his largest wall had a poster on it, decorated with the feathers of angels, fallen, and coated in demonic markings. It was a gift his friends worked hard on to give him this year for Christmas, and the combined symbols, and feather locations worked together to say things like 'unity', 'peace', 'love', and 'happiness'.

Rain just happened to follow Nick, and was surprised when he led her right into his home. Well, there was one thing to be said about this guy; he wasn't very shy.

She smiled as she saw a black furball skitter across the floor. She guessed that it was a cat, but she couldn't be sure, given how messy his home was. She sat down on the couch, looking around at all of the decor.

He obviously loved music and movies, and wasn't organized in the least bit. She was surprised that he could walk around without falling on the cat toys, which seemed to be everywhere she looked. She then caught sight of the poster, which made her get off of the couch and look closer, taking in the details of it.

It was a poster that held everything from demonic markings to angel feathers. It was beautiful, she decided, tracing her fingers over the swirling markings that were found on some demons.

She was so caught up in the poster that she didn't even notice that her markings were lighting up like fireworks. They glowed clearly under her clothes, and her shirt began to lift up, being repelled by some unseen force coming from her markings. As her shirt came up, more of her markings were visible. They all seemed to emanate from a place hidden by her shorts, which were tightly fitted, given that she was a model. They swirled around her back, making an 'X' pattern on the small of her back, and then going on to stop just below her bust and above her stomach.

Nick looked at Rain. HE stared for moments as the glowing once again confirmed his suspicions. He watched her for a while, as she stared at the work his friends had made him, then as her shirt rose to a level most women would have found embarrassing, he coughed loudly.

The cat meowed at Nick to be picked up, and he bent down and snitched it up before turning back to the girl, looking at her with a sort of 'what now?' ex[injection]pression. So...She's here and you have nothing planned. What are you going to do with her?

Rain collected herself after a moment of examining the poster, finally realizing the warm sensation that had leaked all throughout her markings. She pulled her shirt back down, a bit flustered at what happened. She turned to Nick as if nothing ever happened, though she was extrememly embarassed at what had just happened. He was sure to have seen her markings, but maybe he didn't know the meaning behind them. She hoped that was the case.

She looked at the cat with a gleam in her eye before walking over, sticking her hand out for the small mammal to smell. She normally had a way with animals, but she always let them smell her to make sure they were okay with her presence before actually touching them. She cleared her throat.

"So... This is a nice place you have here, but... It could use some organizing. If you're willing to let me, I'd be happy to clean the place up for you every now and then. I have a bit of OCD..." She couldn't bear the thought of the place being this unorganized all of the time. Perhaps he had it cleaned once a.... year? She huffed and sat down beside Nick, her hand still extended for the cat.

Nick laughed for a momment and nodded...it would give him a chance to get to know her anyway.

_________________((OOC: Trying something new. If you find yourself disliking the idea tell me and disregard this post.))________________

Later that evening Nick stood in the back of the crowd for those who wished to rebel against the current rules and regulations regarding the different species currently living on Earth. This was the group who believed everyone had the right to equal treatment. It was also the group currently holding their meetings in a cow barn outside the main city.

The current speaker was talking about how they needed to change the rule, not break them. This was a statement Nick had always agreed with. "...this means we will need a human-or someone that looks like one-to run in the upcoming elections. Remember once you are a member of G.O.D. you will need to report back to us through another member. Its to dangerous to come here yourself. Any volunteers or will we need to nominate?" The crowd mumbled a while, and everyone looked to Nick, and the three other humans.

Anthony's hand shot up. "OOOh! Me! I'll do it! I can bind my wings!!!", he exclaimed.

Another member punched him lightly on the shoulder. "Oh come on, everyone knows your an angel, you flaunt it like a peacock flaunts his feathers." The whole crowed laughed.

"Okay", said the speaker, "How about this; do any of you humans have records?" One raised their hand. "Then you cannot try. The rest we will have nominations for!"

Anthony bolted over to Nick, grabbed his hand and shot it into the air, Nick quickly yanking it down. "Pick him! He's a great speaker!", Anthony shouted. Nick grabbed him by the wing and yanked him close to his face, giving him the death glare. Anthony squirmed "A-and he's scary when he's mad too."

Nick's hands shot up, him speaking in sign language to a translator on the right of the stage. Don't you think someone with better speaking ability's would be better suited? The question posed brought up a verity of mumbles when the the translator did her job.

"Then again, you might get pity votes.", Anthony said with a nudge. Again the crowd mumbled to each other, and a voice in Nick's head screamed: But I don't WANT  PITY VOTES!!!!

Rain looked around at the crowd, and swallowed the rise of claustrophobia inside of her. She'd been coming to these meeting for a while now. It wasn't because she wanted to, but it was more because she had nothing else better to do. However, nobody knew she was a demon, which gave her a bit of security in this place.

For all the people around her knew, she was just a human with a strange hair color.

Then she heard about people volunteering for elections. She thought about volunteering, but it would bring too much attention to her. When the hyperactive angel, Anthony, volunteered, Rain nearly laughed herself to tears. And then he went over to Nick, who seemed not to want the job too much.

Though Rain didn't know why, she had a soft spot for the boy. A pang of guilt ran through her as she thought of what she could do. She could volunteer, but that would bring questions as to if she was a human, angel, or a demon. And then there would be the posibility of her markings being exposed just as they'd been exposed to Nick earlier in the day. She took in a deep breath, and walked away from the crowd towards a vacant corner of the barn to watch the scene carry out.

At last giving up Nick sighed and nodded to being volentold. At least I'll have a job now if I make it. I'll need someone to be my speaker though. He straighned up and waited for the rest of the presentation to end, then started looking about for good talkers.

I should make loudmouth do it., he thought to himself, But he'd just flip things up. And should I even be doing this? I've had in experience in politics...not even reading it. Ha. Pitty votes...

Rain sighed in the corner, watching as the people before her listened to the speaker continue with his presentation, taking in every word that he spoke. She looked over to Nick, who seemed to be deep in thought to her.

She walked up to him, nudging his shoulder with her own. "You alright?" She asked, watching for his response.

Nick nodded. He would manage after he re-killed Anthony.

___________

Morning came and Nick's alarm buzzed telling him to get up for work, despite not having any now. HE dumped some kibble into the little bowl beside his bed and wandered to his journal to write about yesterday's events.

Seeming distant, he tapped the books cover and stared into nowhere before finally deciding what to write: nothing. He dropped the pen, and ripped the book in two, then through it back to the desk. Why do I even bother? I never look back at it anyway!

The cat meowed and rubbed his leg. No. No till dinner. You know that without me doing anything. Go away. The cat seemed persistent so he picked it up, and pet it. Its purr sounded through the room. Darn hairball. Whats wrong with you Puff?

Rain's penthouse was modern, chic, and quite simply, gorgeous. The roof was easily twenty feet high throughout the house, and went up to fifty feet high where the staircase, leading to the second floor of her home, was. She was dressed in a simple, flowy, knee-length white dress that perfectly matched the color of her hair.

She stood at her black-granite countertops, which were all around her kitchen, and sighed. She awful lonely in this huge place. Don't get her wrong- living in a big home was nice and all, but she wished that she was at least allowed to have some sort of animal in there. Dog, cat, maybe. Or perhaps a pair of lovebirds to fill the house with their sweet songs.

No. That would never happen. Not with the owner of the hotel. Though the man was human, you'd swear up and down that he was a full-blown demon.

Rain giggled at the thought of the man's fiery temper, dark looks, and intimidating glances. Though she wasn't afraid of him, she was afraid of his ability to kick her out of the penthouse and onto the street.

Her cell phone rang three times before she even realized it had rung. She raced over and answered it without looking at the caller ID.

"Rain?" A girly, soprano voice asked through the phone.

"Hey, Cecilia." Rain smiled as she heard her manager's voice. This could only mean one thing- another photoshoot. If there was one thing that Rain lived for, it was photoshoots. The lights, the feeling of all of the cameras on you. It intimidated her when she first started her career as a model, but she soon grew accustomed to the flashing lights of the cameras and the photographer telling her what to do.

After the conversation with Cecilia ended, sure enough, Rain had another photoshoot to do this evening. But between now and then, she had time to kill.

She bit her lip as she thought about Nick, wondering if he was okay. And then it struck her. Organizing. His house. Between now and the photoshoot. That would be the way she would spend her time.

She had contemplated on learning sign language the night before, but it had seemed complicated. It wouldn't take her long to learn it, given that she was a demon, but it would be far from easy.

After several moments of thinking, Rain decided that she was going to learn sign language later. Maybe her manager could set her up with a teacher or something.

And even sooner than she'd decided on learning sign language, she'd found herself on Nick's doorstep, knocking three times, waiting for him to answer.

Nick, still in pj pants and no shirt awoke to the sound of someone knocking in his door. He hopped out of bed and looked through the peep hole of the apartment, expecting it to be his landlord complaining about his mail getting in the wrong person's place again. When he looked he saw the girl from the previous day, staring back at the door. Rain? What in heaven's name is she doing here this early.

He waved her in and put on the coffee for the morning, shocked that she had shown up at all. When she was in and everything was on he went to the bedroom to change and came back wearing a tshirt and jeans, and carrying a stack of loose leaf paper.

Rain walked in, and stood akwardly in the kitchen, her white heels clacking on the floor when she moved. When Nick came back in, she smiled and took a deep breath before speaking.

"I'm thinking about taking sign language so you won't have to write down things. You know, there'll be nothing between us two speaking. Not even a sheet of paper." She tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. "Also, I came here to check if I could organize your house. After all, I said that I would do it some time." She grinned at Nick. "I've got a couple hours to kill until my photoshoot, and I think that it would benefit my well being if I knew that there was one less unorganized place in the world."
