Fox watched them hustle and bustle. Bracket tilted her head. "You mean... The night sky and her stars?" Fox shook her head, turning around. "Bracket, we need to get back to the den. You've been up too long."

Fox tilted one ear towards Avven, and apparently so did Bracket. Fox turned around, studying the pup thoroughly. "You say you are deaf?" She tried to be as kind as possible, though she did have many scars over her face. Fox now understood why she took care of Bracket. These pups must all be outcasts. She looked up at the bear, her left shoulder slouching a bit. "May I speak to you?"

Bracket sat by Fox bewildered. She could only see such a sliver of things with such terrible cataracts. She had never told anyone of this, though that would make sense since Fox was her only freind. She slumped forward. No one else here seemed like very good freinds, so why should she try? No, she should just try. She silently approached Avven- or what she thought was Avven- and looked at him straight in the face. "I'm a bit blind but I know feelings. Are you okay?"

Bracket tilted her head. "I know how you feel... I'm blind... Sort of... Fox thinks it will wear off as I get older. All I can see is just a faint bit of your head and the end of my nose. Fox doesn't really know that though, and I'm ashamed for not telling her." She turned her head towards the river. She was also a bit color blind, so everything was gray to her. "Being deaf probably isn't that bad, Fox says we are born deaf. But some of us are lucky enough to escape. She told me of a terrible creature that seals our eyes and ears for about two months, until we are strong enough to fight it."

Bracket's ear twitched. "How many mothers do you have?... Besides your real mother?" She looked above at the large trees. That was the longest conversation she'd had without her mother. She twitched her white little shoulder on the right, shaking a bug off.

Bracket tilted her head a little bit. "Why do you have two mothers? Not to be nosy or anything. I'd rather you had two rather than none." Fox looked up at the bear. "Have you spoken to your pup about wolves, packs, ranks, that kind of thing?"

Fox nodded. "Good. No mother... Or stepmother, is to mention the Sacred Ring of Volcanoes. It is possibly the worst punishment to a pup. The burning, the... The terrors I can't bring myself to say. I have seen many who died in such a way." Bracket turned to Shadow, then slowly pressed her paw into the mud. It the claws were sharper, so the marks dug deeper into the mud. It was also slightly bigger, and wasn't as twisted as Shadow's.

Fox looked at Bracket. "Every pup must be let go at this age. I hope if they possibly meet again, they wouldn't have to go back to their old pack. Maybe even create enother." She shook her head. "But it all depends on when we let them go."

Fox shook her head. "The both of us are late already. You- we- must let them go as soon as possible. Might as well teach her, then say goodbye as soon as possible." Fox then crept back to her den. She had pups other than Bracket, but they were only fox pups. Bracket sighed. "Mine is bigger than yours for some reason. And I see that mark everywhere. Its not uncommon, Fox's other pups have them too."

Bracket leaned over to Shadow. "I think our mothers are sending us away now."
