Triss then turned to the young witch as she spoke and nodded. "We will welcome you on this journey, Talon has a fondness of witches." Triss adjusted the bow on her back, and swung her satchel back over her shoulder. She looked at Freedom and gave her a nod, then to the Kitsune..what would she decide?

Freedom just nodded her head silently to Triss, walking up by her side and ready to find the old Talon, "Kitsune, if you find it better to stay alone in uncharted woods then so be it, you are only letting your own, captured or not down." she said looking sternly into Sapphire's gaze then turning her head to look at Allia.

She flattened her ears and sighed exasperatedly. "Fine I'll come." She then turned to Triss and said "No, as a matter of fact, I never learned how to interpret the shifts of magic in the air. My parents were killed before I could learn, and others generally don't like having such an untrained kitsune at their dinner parties." she said this last part with as much sarcasm as she could muster.

Triss paused, oh this wasnt good news,though it rarely ever was anymore. This Kitsune would need teaching, this would make the trip even more mentally exhausting. Really she should have known, she had already taken note on how Saph couldnt phase correctly. She had tried giving her the benefit of the doubt, perhaps it was a quirk, or maybe thats just the way she liked to look. Now she doubted even that. " A wise choice, I'll take point, Free can you watch our backs?" she knew she could count on Free to alert them if anything tried to sneak up on them. Though unless it was another elf it was very slim chances to sneak up on a Drow. "We are going to visit an elder, a Griffin to be precise. He's terribly mad though if you ask me, in fact he's probably watching us all now." she turned to Sapphire again. "That amulet,what are its uses? You'll need some proper training."

Freedom swished her tail then pulled out her duels again, "Of course" she replied then gave a silent laugh "Old Talon already knows we're coming, what does he not know other than to stop talking?" she teased rolling her eyes and stretching out her back, then standing strait again, she waited for them to take off to find the old coot.

Sapphire shrugged, "The amethyst? I think its something specially made for kitsune. If I remember correctly my mom said that it would help me do this." she held out her hand and produced a ball of blue flames. The fire matched her eyes exactly. She quickly extinguished it, in case there were any enemies around. "I'm pretty sure it just helps channel magic energies. The turquoise is something I found, I don't know whether it does anything, and I believe the opal is for quick healing on small wounds, but I am not sure."

Triss hissed through clenched teeth and pulled back as the flames sprouted in the Kitsune's palm. She didnt take kindly to fire, or any forms of light magic. She pulled an obsidian arm over her face shading her eyes, her lips pulled back exposing her pointed canines. As she did so in reaction, shadows crept up from the forest floor pooling at Triss' feet. Immediatley as the flames were extinguished did the,darkness fade again into the tree line. She threw her arm down haughtily, and looked at Allia. "How about you have you done much stone magic, alas I must admit I have not, Runes are my specialty."

Freedom watched as the flames rose then faded, she was not the most fond of fire but had no hate towards it. She began to walk around, still staying near the others, and observing as they talked, she quietly began to stalk a Gale Raven as it pecked at a hole in the ground, most likely a hare burrow, then suddenly it jumped back and clumsily flapped away making her jump when it smacked her face with its thick wing.
"What in the name of Nyx..." She grumbled to herself as she peered over the burrow to see if something was down there but saw nothing but an empty hole, looking up at the sky she glared to where the bird had flown off to, "Stupid piece of dirt" she growled, clenching her teeth and curling back her lip showing large canines. With a big sigh she began to head back to the others but was distracted by a shining in the distance, by instinct she cautiously stalked towards it until she came upon it to see a strange blade with a dark stone at the end of the grip, grabbing it she entered the clearing once more stepping into the moonlight and walked up to Triss with curiosity sparking in her eyes "I found this lying on a ground while I was wondering around" she lifted the blade and looked into Triss's gaze.

Triss shrugged off the Kitsune,"It's fine, you wouldnt have known." She resumed her composed stance. She looked at Freedom as she approached her with a blade. "You found this,over where?" she reached out to examine the work. She turned the blade over many times, rubbing a finger along the dark stone at the grip. "This is Goblin made steel." she looked around them seemingly unnerved. "This stone is embued with magic, tricky to tell which kind, I think its time to move on." She handed the blade back to Freedom, and adjusted her pack before turning on her heel, towards the mountains . "I'd keep that blade, we may have need of it but dont become too attached." What did that even mean? Why did elves speak in riddles?

"I found it over there-" Freedom extended her arm and pointed to an old, large tree with long thick roots peaking out of the ground, making it easy for someone to trip on them, "-by the tree." She nodded as Triss told her to keep it, but shook her confusion off as she had said the last part, "I agree, its not safe to stay in one place for too long, 'they' might find us" she said turning and facing the general direction of which they had to travel, and putting the strange blade in her satchel and ready to begin there journey.

Triss once again faced the mountains, no time but the present, she thought to herself. She took off out the forest, nimbly finding her footing between roots of trees and rocks. Weaving her way easily through the clearings of trees,she hoped the others could keep up. Thats just it, Triss wasnt sure how accustomed the others were to her pace, she should probably slow. That was her first mistake, as Triss turned to check on the others she heard a twig snap out of place to the east. It wasnt even subtle to be honest, they were being followed. She grabbed her bow and one of her poisoned arrows,this wasnt likely a friend. "We have company" she hissed as she pulled her bow taught. |

Freedom came to a sudden stop and took guard in a fighting stance, her duel blades out and ready, then she saw shadows moving in a circle around her and the others, and she thought she had caught a glance of dark, rough skin and red and yellow eyes watching there every move. "Definetly not the quietest of creatures now are they" She whispered to herself looking around and waiting for someone to make a move.

"Of course not," Triss hissed through clenched teeth. "they're too stupid to be quiet." Triss should have suspected this, Goblins lived at the bottom of trees. They were obsessed with their trinkets, they were not large creatures no..but they breed like rabbits. There were usually masses of hundreds in any given hallow. To say the least they were greedy, nasty creatures. They fought dirty too, they liked to bite, given their knee high stature this never surprised Triss. She took aim, and loosed her first arrow, making her target in the eye of the nearest Goblin. His scream was wretched,piercing the forest and sending flocks of birds from their roosts.---------------------------------- REFERENCE

Sapphire was about to fire-blast the nearest gobblin, but then remembered about Triss. If she started throwing fireballs everywhere, Triss would be incapacitated. She decided to make due with her sharp claws, and if it came to it, her teeth. She would fight as dirty as the goblins. She slashed one down its ugly face making blood bloom where her claws had scored. She had heard about how greedy they were and thought, *Lucky my fur hides my necklace.*

As two Goblins circled Freedom she quickly yet smoothly swung her swords around, one Goblin getting hit in the neck and the other getting knocked over, with a grin she put an ending blow on it, and watched as its thick blood began to poor out, suddenly one limped up to her, not with aggression in its eyes, but instead desperate and cold glazing them over. She observed the large wooden staff with a dark stone like the one on the blade at the end of it and a magic essence swirling around it. 'This must be one of there elders or leaders' She thought to herself as it lifted its staff and more little evil eyes appeared through brush.

Triss loosed arrows on most of the nearest Goblins, bringing a dark shroud of shadow over her body. The black almost smoke like tendrils creeped over the forest floor to her in an eerie way,she was near invisible in the denser trees. She checked her sides to take note of the Kitsune holding her own,and Free was calmly fighting them off with her blades. She noticed the elder Goblin enter the clearing, the smell that wafted forth from him was foul, and rotten. She knocked three more arrows at the same time sending them his way,but amazingly he dodged them. Thats when she realized something familiar about the stones in the staff, and the ones in blade Freedom had found. "Be careful with that knife Free, dont let him have it." She nodded in the elder Goblins direction. This was her new target...

Freedom nodded as she pulled her sword out of another Goblin and jumped back as a horrible burning touched her side, then looking to where she was, she saw that one of them had placed there hand on her side. "You dirty pieces of Scale-hearts!" She cursed at them as the burning went away then leaping forward she sliced through more as they flooded the area, but not taking her eye off of the elder who was just standing and watching her with an unreadable ex
pression.
