Jadewing lay in the sun, soaking up its warmth as Snowdrift dashed with the kits. She padded over to her and asked, "Do you need any help with them? I love kits."

Limefeather felt a familiar tug in her heart strings when she was near the kits, but she promptly shook it off and turned to Adderstrike with guarded eyes. "Let's get that yarrow," she said stiffly, turning back to the forest and consentrating on sniffing out the plant.

Adderstrike nodded absentmindedly, comparing two she-cats in his head. He knew that Leafsong had feelings for him, and he knew that she was definately the obvious choice if he ever got a mate, but for some reason, he was drawn to Limefeather, even though it was forbidden, but that seemed to make him want her more, just that fact that she was off limits.

Snowdrift smiled, "Sure, these three are a bit of trouble! but Angelkit seems to like Leafsong better than she likes me!." she purred.

Limefeather signalled Adderstrike over to her with a flick of her tail as she plucked a couple yarrow leaves. She looked at him, and nodded, meaning that he should take them from her*. As she pas$ed the yarrow to him, her nose brushed against his, sending an emotional shock rippling down her spine.

Adderstrike's whiskers twitched as his muzzle touched Limefeather's. he was sure she felt the 'jolt' as well/ He felt his face grow warm, for once, he was grateful for his thick fur.

Limefeather drew back, fixing him with a steady gaze. I am a medicine cat, she chided to herself. This cat means nothing to me. She fixed her mind on that, and continued to echo it through her head as she padded towards camp in slience.

Adderstrike blinked, then padded into camp, setting the herbs down and slipping over to the freshkill pile, snatching a mouse and eating it in two quick gulps.
