"Only 1 more moon." Raggedstar said to himself as he watched Eaglepaw and Waterpaw pounce on eachother, fighting over a piece of prey. His tail twitched in amusement when the femaleone, clambering off her brother to eat her prey. He watched as Eaglepaw's tail drooped and he went off to eat alone. Raggedtsar, feeling bad for the apprentice, trotted over to him.

Eaglepaw looked up at the great leader and wondered if he'd ever had a fight with his sister. Did he even have a sister? Maybe not, but Eaglepaw wasn't sure, he had only been a kit when Raggedheart had become Raggedstar. He sighed. "Eaglepaw, If your mentor says it is okay, how would you like to come on the hunting patrol with me?" He wondered. Eaglepaw's eyes widened and he nodded quickly before the leader could change his mind...

Skyheart gave a small sigh and looked at the cats around him. ‘I’d like to announce patrols for the morning,’ he meowed loudly, attempting to catch their attention. ‘I’d like the cats I am going to list next to scout ahead for possible camp sites and danger.’

‘Raggedstar has offered to lead this patrol. Along with her can Crimsonsky, Chestnutfur, Eaglepaw and Reedfeather go with him? I also wish for two hunting patrols. The first shall be led by Ivorystep. Gather up Blackpaw, Rainbreath, Windpaw, Emberstripe and Waterpaw.’

Giving his tail and irritated little twitch he looked at Sageheart. ‘Please get Frostpaw, Willowsong, Featherpaw and Brambleslash please.’

Crimsonsky nodded sullenly. Scouting patrol, she thought bitterly, wishing that she was hunting instead. But she complied to her deputy’s wishes and padded over to Raggedstar, tail flicking with irritation.

Blackpaw leaped up with joy, giving Frostpaw an elated look. ‘I can’t believe it!’ he crowed with delight, giving his friend a soft nuzzle. ‘Hunting patrol! I’ve been on normal ones for too long. It’s been moons since I’ve hunted!’

Windpaw gave a small laugh. ‘Not moons,’ she teased gently, though her gaze remained excited. ‘I’m glad I’m going out though. I’ve spent too much time around the queens caring for their kits.’

Frostpaw purred with delight. ‘Hunting, just my thing,’ she mewed gleefully, padding up to Sageheart.

[Oh, and Frostpaw likes Sageheart.]

 Chestnutheart padded up to join the other cats going on patrol with him. He was in a good mood, not rare for him, but today it seemed exceptional, almost too good to be true. "Reedfeather!" he called out to the senior warrior, "Reedfeather!" and when he wouldn't anser he walked over to him and prodded him hard in the ribs with his large paw. "Get up you lug, we're going on patrol"

Reedfeather grunted and followed after Chestnutheart.

 "Hello Frostpaw, ready for patrol?" Sageheart asked his young apprentice, before turning away. He motioned with his tail for her to follow, "Come ith me to get the rest of our cats." Not waiting up for his apprentice he padded around tryiing to find his fellow warriors and aprentices alike.

Ivorystep nodded tiredly and looked for her brother. Spotting his gray/blue and white peltshe dashed over to him, long limbs making the walk short and fast. "Rainbreath, did you hear Skyheart? We have patrol. Come on"

Rainbreath grunted at hs sister and meowed, "yeah I heard him. I'm coming." Standing up quickly he licked his chest fur a few times and smoothed the fur on his back, before following her.

Frostpaw purred with delight, giving one last stretch before she padded after her mentor. Catching up to him on her long legs, the she-cat walked beside her mentor happily. 'I see Brambleslash!' she meowed to Sageheart, flicking his flank with one tail.

Bramblslash looked up with the mention of his name and padded over to the two grumpily. 'Hello Sageheart,' he meowed to the other warrior warmly, though his eyes lacked emotion. 'Nice to see you two. Have any idea where we're hunting?'

Though he seemed lethargic Brambleslash was itching to hunt and his slightly lashing tail was testament of this feeling.

Crimsonsky fell in step with Chestnutheart and Reedfeather, giving them an appraising glance. 'Where are we going?' she mewoed with a slightly yawn. 'I know Raggedstar should decide but I want to get an idea about this patrol first.'

Blackpaw ran up to Ivorystep with a wide grin on his muzzle. 'Hello Ivorystep!' he mewed happily, doing a small twirl around his mentor. 

"Rght now Brambleslash" Mewed Sageheart, "Right now." He faced his apprentice, "Thank you for finding him Frostpaw" he said in a cheery voice, wanting toencourage rather than dicourage her like his mentor had done to him. He shook his head of that tought and asked, to no one in general, "Where shall we go first?"

"Hello Blackpaw" Purred Ivorystep, "Are you excited to go on a patrol?" shhe saked him playfully, batting his tail with her slender paw. Her crimson eyes sparkled as she watched her apprentice smile.

Chestnutheart turned to Crimsonsky, "To tell you the truth Crimsonsky," he mewed, "I haven't the foggiest"

Crimsonsky wrinkled her nose at Chestnutheart. 'I suppose we must wait for Raggedstar then,' she mewed eventually, settling on her paws and wrapping her ginger tail around them.

Blackpaw nodded. 'Very! I can't wait to go hunting! I bet I'll catch the biggest piece of prey out there!' He flicked his tail playgfully at her touch and batted hers in reply.

Brambleslash hid and irritated snort. 'I just asked you that,' he meowed evenly, though his eyes simmered with annoyance.
