(Oh, I don't think I included this, but the Rich kids don't like the Scholarships because they aren't rich. So they aren't going to be buddy buddy very often.)

Phoebe stared up at the board, her hair falling around her face and pooling on to the desk. Brushing it back behind her ear, she scribbled down a few notes in her worn down notebook, ignoring a few whispers and giggles from the back. Those rich kids. They'll always be picking on the scholarships. She thought, shaking her head slightly, so they wouldn't see her distress.

Phoebe had been going to Sword and Cross for only half a year now, after she got the highest scores in her exams back in America. It was a big change, moving from the US to England, but she managed to adapt. But coming here was hard. At first, Phoebe didn't get the hint that Rich kids and Scholarships were like two different species here, never to be mixed. That would only create disaster, and tears.

She remembered how unhappy she was, when she was publicly humiliated and discriminated against because of her poverty. Sighing, she drummed her pencil on the top of the desk, focusing back on the boring drone of the teacher

Smiling as the bell cut him off, Phoebe jumped out of her seat, grabbing her paper bag lunch.

--

Aiden grinned as someone whispered to him something about the party tonight, interest sparking in his hazel eyes. Dancing, drinking, and girls- 3 things that promised an awesome party. His friends began to excitedly talk to each other, getting a few evil Shut up! glares from the nerds, and some dirty looks from the teacher.

Snorting, he returned back to his notes, pretending to be listening. Glancing at the clock on his expensive iPhone 4S, he put his headphones out, drowning out the teacher's lessons in the rock music of Led Zeppelin. Suddenly, the bell rang, making everyone in his group get to their feet and speed out the door, laughing.

good luck on those.

Voeg visibly jumped when she felt the crumbled paper graze the back of her
head. She reached up and adjusted her ponytail, squinting her eyes and turning
around to find the person who did it; whoever they were, they were long gone.
The brown-haired girl chewed on the inside of her lip and decided to push it in
the back of her mind as she organized her the rest of her notes for that class
and gently sent the binder down in her backpack.

She stood up quickly and left the classroom, rushing and desperate to get
downstairs and into the lunch line.

Richie laughed as he skidded past a corner and finally happened to find the
cafeteria. He adjusted the backpack on his shoulders and managed to slide to a
still, but only after he ran into another student. Richard hissed and stopped
himself before he fell down, lifting his brown eyes up to the auburn-haired
student. An old memory came to life then, a remembrance when the poor girl was
brutally picked on.

"Watch it," he rudely barked in a muffled, sharp accent, something
nagging in the back of his mind to apologize but knowing that he couldn't ever
do that to a scholarship.

He stood up as straight as he could once he realized their casualness in height,
attempting to seem taller and intimidating. In a split second, Richie felt the
guilt, and he pushed his way past the student and cut his way to the front of
the lunch line to stand with some familiar faces, a desperate attempt to stop
him from apologizing before it was too late.

Phoebe felt her body stumble forward, almost knocking into the lunch line. Quickly, she caught herself, whirling around to face whoever had pushed her. Frowning, she opened her mouth to say something, but thought better of it, gritting her teeth. Pick your battles, Pheebs.  She thought to herself, stalking over to an empty lunch table and sitting herself down.

Slowly, she ate her sandwich, watching everyone warily. She knew that even the slightest attempt to be friends from one of the rich kids would just be a joke, something else to humiliate her. Picking at the crust, she took a drink of her water, chugging half of it down.

--

Aiden sat at the table, taking his headphones out and putting them in his pocket. He set his 5 star lunch in front of him, picking disgustedly at the mashed potatoes. "Can't they do better than this?" He said aloud, eyeing the mound of herbs, lightly salted butter, and the creamy potatoes.

Suddenly, Aiden's friend got an idea. Striding over to the nearest scholarship, someone Aiden recognized as Voeg. Rudely, he shoved his tray over to her, calling some inaudible words over to his friends. Turning down the volume so he could hear what was going on, Aiden squinted over at the two, raising an eyebrow as the guy tipped his lunch over her head, splattering noodles and soup everywhere.

His eyes started to widen, but he quickly stopped himself, glancing around at his friends to see their reactions. They were cracking up, pounding the table and cheering him on. Managing a halfhearted laugh, he glanced back over at the girl, pretending to be interested in the color of the walls.

((It's really depressing I got this almost finished last night then my computer just decided to turn off randomly. :I))

Name: Raoul "Rain" Steele.
Age: Sixteen.
Gender: Male.
Appearance:

Raoul is about 5'6" tall and has a very slender build with rather pail skin. His eyes are a strange pinkish colour due to a lack of colour pigments in his eyes. He usually wears casual clothing such as worn out jeans and t-shirts, and almost always is seen with his headphones and his special hoodie, which is black with "Rain" printed on the back in digital-like lettering. Rain is like his DJ name, which he puts on all his music.
Personality: Despite his rather gentle appearance, Raoul is a moody little thing, especially towards the Rich students at Sword and Cross Academy. He dislikes them greatly, and looks down on them as people who just slide by on their parents' money without any sort of talent. Typically, he'll just let everyone else be, preferring to keep to himself. He's more of the quiet type until he gets riled up, and he prefers to avoid as much human interaction as possible.
History: Raoul grew up in a very normal household to start with. He had loving parents and an older sister, and they were well off enough to have luxuries.
It was his sister who originally discovered his talents. She tried to teach him piano when he was five and he excelled at it to the point of being considered a prodigy. Raoul had an ear for music, an became very serious with it. It was the only thing he was really serious about, as he didn't care at all for school as long as he slid by each year with a passing grade. He was a goof-off, and preferred to focus on friends and music more than academics.
When he started middle school all that changed. He was in an accident that damaged his eyes and threatened his sight. He went through surgery, and came out with his vision even better than before. However, there was a down-side. The surgery had drained all colour pigments in his eyes, and the irises became pink because there was no colour to cover up the blood vessels in his eyes.
Everything seemed okay at first. He was a popular guy at school, so everyone knew him and thought his strange-coloured eyes were pretty cool. But when his dad was transferred to another branch of his company and they were forced to move, Raoul suddenly found himself without any friends and his musical aptitude and strange eyes made him a target. He was targeted by the school bully, and after that most wanted nothing to do with him, and a lot of other kids bullied him as well.
After that, Raoul wanted nothing to do with his schoolmates and retreated into his studies. It turned out he had a natural talent for learning as well, and ended up at the top of his class. People bullied him, but he'd built up a tolerance.
In the eighth grade, he discovered Electronic music and fell in love again. He would spend hours in his school's computer lab, where the computers had basic music programs, making music. His teachers allowed him to spend a good part of the day in the computer lab as long as his grades didn't slip, as they knew he wasn't very fond of his classmates and preferred to stick to himself.
As time went on, he became quite talented at remixes and original songs. His parents gave him a Synthesizer as a present for graduating middle school, and he now carries it everywhere. His parents then got him a bag for it customized with "Rain" on it, which he'll usually keep strapped over his shoulder or to his back.
Weaknesses: He's got a bit of a short temper. Usually, he wont get riled up to the point of a fight, but he'll often snap at anyone who approaches him if he doesn't like them or he's in a bad mood. He's also very quick to dislike someone for even the smallest things and will judge some people before he even gets to know them, particularly Rich students.
Strengths: He has a keen ear for music, and is very quick with learning new skills. He's naturally very creative, and very good at making music.
Dorm #/Home?: Dorm No. 45
Scholarship/Rich?: Scholarship, both Academic and Music (Piano).
Pets?:
Chrome, his tan male ferret. He wears a blue collar with Raoul's name and phone number stitched on the inner surface.

Other: He's not fond of drinking, smoking, or doing drugs. He wasn't raised around that stuff, and he doesn't like the idea of things messing with his mind.
When he's older, he wants to work as a DJ, however he knows he also needs to set a steady career, but he just doesn't know what he really wants to do with his life outside music.

Before Voeg even reached the lunch line, she knew she was in trouble when the
rich kid stumbled over to her. The girl attempted to quicken her pace but the
other kid walked over to her way before she had the chance to blend with the
crowd. Voeg narrowed her eyes and took a step back when he shoved his tray at
her. One glance at his table of friends, and before a word could escape from
her throat, she felt the liquid and food seep into her scalp.

The cafeteria fell silent. Voeg shut her eyes tightly and stood there for a
moment, feeling the worthlessness and humiliation settle in. She took her time
to wipe the soup off of her eyes and opened them, managing to give a hard glare
to every rich kid at the table.

"What's wrong with all of you?" the scholarship hissed as her eyes
landed once on Aiden, her shaking hand raising above her head to take the
ponytail out of her hair and let some noodles fall on the floor.

Without saying another word, she turned around and began to take her jacket off
as she angrily stalked her way to the front of the cafeteria to grab a few
napkins.

After Richie paid for his lunch, he glanced once at the girl, Voeg, and made
his way over to the table where it happened, sitting a little ways off to
Aiden. The greatest thing about being a rich kid was being able to know
everyone. He laughed for a little bit and almost felt bad for it, but the girl
looked unworried, at least.

"What just happened?" Richie grinned and asked curiously, swirling
the mashed potatoes around with his fork.

Voeg cleaned her shirt to her best ability, but knew full well that it was
ruined for the rest of the day. With a bitter mood settling in her mind, she
turned her jacket inside out and zipped it back up, grabbing her backpack off
the floor and finally getting a lunch from the line, although it was heftily
priced. Sitting at a nearly empty lunch table where scholarship students usually
sat, Voeg snatched the chip bag off of her tray and began to angrily munch on
the thin, salted potatoes, glaring at the table of students who thought it was
just clever to pour lunch onto her.

 "..you a scholarship? Did you
seriously just see them do that?" Voeg asked the girl nearest to her, an
auburn-haired student. "I think I want to pour my lunch on them,
too."

Phoebe nodded. "I know what you mean." Phoebe said, shooting a dirty look at Richard before turning to Voeg again. "They think they're so great for having money. I'd like to show them who's boss if I got a chance." She said with a heavy sigh as she stuffed her trash in the brown paper bag, glancing at the other scholarships. They were quiet too, making idle chit chat to one another or keeping their voices low, while the rest in the cafeteria were loud and wild.

--

Aiden shrugged. "I had my headphones in half of the time so all I know is one of them decided to be funny and dump his lunch on that girls head. And I must admit, it was pretty funny." He said, feeling instantly horrible about it. Aiden had been lying the whole time. It wasn't funny, he thought it was terrible. If he had the guts to stand out here, then Aiden would have, but he didn't.

Deciding he lost his appetite, Aiden dumped the rest of his lunch away, sitting back down at his loud and obnoxious table. Everyone couldn't stop talking about the scholarship girl's face. It was common for things like this to happen in the cafeteria, or anywhere on Sword and Cross grounds, but you could always depend on the rich kids to make a big deal about it, which, they definitively were.

Voeg glanced back at the rich table every now and then before shoving her
empty chip bag back on her tray, deciding to run several fingers through her
now dried and soup-clumped hair. The rest of the day would just be downhill
from there, but the girl knew that if she left the academy now, then it would
only be worse the next day.

"Seriously. And you know what? Most of them aren't even that smart.
They're just lucky to be here," she ranted to Phoebe before sighing and
knowing how pointless it was. "So what's your name? I noticed your accent
is off."

"Ha ha, that sounds funny. Can't believe I missed that," Richie
silently cursed and fiddled with his lunch without having actually eaten from
it yet.

Something in the back of his mind wouldn't let him finish his lunch. The rich
kid set his fork down and pushed his bangs out of the way, remembering the girl
from earlier who he had run into and letting the image linger on his mind.
Richie knew this gut-wrenching feeling every time he purposely hurt someone who
was considered lower than him, and he regretted it every day. Maybe they really
did take it too far this time?

No, who cares what the other rich kids thought of him. Richard picked up his
lunch and threw it into the nearest trash bin, taking one suspicious glance
around before he walked over to Phoebe and Voeg's table after seeking it out.
He waited a moment for them both to look at him while he fiddled with the words
in his mouth, unsure of how to apologize and suddenly feeling nervous.

"Hey, um. Listen for a minute," Richie started, fiddling with his
fingers a bit.

Phoebe smiled slightly at the girl, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "I'm Phoebe. You must be...Voeg. I recognize you from a few classes." She said, wiping one of the noodles that had fallen from her hair off the table. Lifting her eyes from the designer table, she saw someone walking towards them.

Instantly, she remembered him as the guy that had bumped into her in line. Phoebe usually wasn't one to let things go easily, and especially when they were the despised spoiled brat Rich kids. Whirling back around so she didn't show the anger clearly expressed on her face, she pretended not to see him, only acknowledging him when he spoke.

"What?" She said, voice menacing and unpleasant.

"I have classes with you? Didn't even notice. My apologies," Voeg squeaked, opening the cap of her water bottle and taking a sip.
The girl raised an eyebrow and looked at Phoebe oddly, following the fellow scholarship student's eyesight until she landed on Richie. Just by the way he walked, she could tell just how much pride the kid carried, and she wasn't liking it.
Voeg could feel the anger seeping off of Phoebe and suddenly she didn't seem to like this kid very much. The student narrowed her eyes and squinted up at Richie suspiciously. He couldn't want anything from them unless it was something horrible.
"I have an extra gym shirt in my bag," Richie mumbled, his thumb pointing behind him to the table from earlier.
Voeg glanced at Phoebe oddly and instantly decided that she didn't like where this was going.
"I don't take handouts from blokes like you. What, do I look too poor to have another shirt or something?" she barked, uncapping her bottled water again and standing up.
Without hesitation, the scholarship poured the water on top of his head until the bottle was completely empty, leaving her satisfied.
"That's for earlier."

Richard narrowed his lips to a thin line and said nothing after that. He wasn't sure how many students were watching, but it was bad enough that a scholarship had done that to him.
"Alright, fine you poor dab. But you are going to regret doing that," he shouted, something stirring in his head to back up every word that emptied his mouth.
And he figured he was going to try to be nice. Richie's hands unclenched and unclenched at his sides, not sure what was the right thing to do just then.
'Forget it,' he thought, stalking away.

Voeg sat back down at the table and held in the joy and confidence she felt for that small victory. "I have every single class with him," she stated flatly to Phoebe, afraid to glance back at that certain table.

Phoebe nodded, but she couldn't help but wonder what he wanted. No matter. He can eat his pants for all I care. She thought, prodding at her fruit cup. "Want it?" She asked, glancing at the clock on the wall. Almost time to get back to class.

((I forgot to mention Raoul was from a French family, so he has an accent. ^^; ))

Raoul trudged down the practically empty hallways. There were a few people loitering around skipping lunch, but none of them paid him any mind. They were obviously Rich kids, and he was obviously a Scholarship kid, and they seemed to be the type that just treated the "poor" students like they didn't exist. Not that he cared; he actually liked it better that way.

Up until that point, he'd been in the library doing homework so he'd have more free time that evening to work on his music. It was his usual routine. He only needed a few minutes to eat, so he found it pointless to be in the loud cafeteria the entire lunch time. It was a shame he had to go at all, but he wasn't allowed to eat in the library, of course.

Following his usual routine, he entered the cafeteria with his head down, made it to the most isolated seat he could find, set his backpack and Synthesizer down in the seat beside him, and pulled out his lunch to eat. It was a very simple lunch, just a sandwich, baby carrots, and water, but it filled him up and that was all that mattered.

Nibbling on a carrot, he pulled his headphones over his ears. Even if they weren't plugged into anything at the moment, it gave him that extra kind of defense against any Scholarship student that might want to socialize with him. Being Scholarship student already meant a majority of the other students wouldn't talk to him.

((Fail intro. x.x Oh well. Sorry for the delay.))

Voeg looked over at her fruit cup and smiled.
"No thank you, I'm actually not quite hungry," she politely denied, throwing her water bottle and other sorts of trash back onto her tray, "but I'll be right back."
The student picked up her tray and carefully walked towards the nearest trash can, not even bothering to move out of the way of any rich kids. At one point she thought she bumped shoulders with one of them, but they obviously weren't that important for her to really care. Voeg dumped her lunch quickly and quietly walked back over to the table with Phoebe, glancing over to an odd kid with headphones in his ears. She raised an eyebrow at him, but refused to approach and disrupt his silence.
"Do you know who that bloke is?" Voeg asked curiously, pointing with her thumb over towards Raoul.
She paused for a minute and snatched the time of the clock, realizing the ending signal of lunch.
