Kidd let Mia pull him into their room, not really sure wht to expect from her. If she wasn't telling him something, than she was probably going to show him. His eyes were blind, however, to what was truely in the room. His thoughts as well as eyes where almost trained on his lover, a rare feeling of joy and bliss covering Kiddonu, sending light, unnoticable shivers down his spine. Finaly, in a slightly more serious tone, he said, "Then, prey, show me what I have missed."

Kiddonu sat on the bed, the feel of the soft and delicately folded sheets seeming familiar and warm. As Mia told him, Kid closed his eyes before taking a breif moment to roll his shoulders back, poping them quietly. His ears twitched as he listened, following Mia with his ears. What on Earth could she bee showing him? In his curiousity, he hardly noticed that his love was walking slower comming back than she was leaving him, as if she was carring something fragile. Kidd's hunch was correct when he obediantly opened his eyes and saw a baby.

The young king took in a sharp, silent gasp as he reached out and held the child. It was amoung the most beautiful things he'd ever seen, if not the first. He held the child as softly as he could, moving slowly and carfully in hopes of not disturbing the small, bundle of life that he now held. He didn't take his eyes off the child, hardly a thought in his head as he sweetly asked Mia, "What's her name?"

Kiddonu looked up at Mia, his eyes betraying his confusion. With a light tone he asked her, "Why are you sorry?" He paused a bit, then, "I think Maara's a beautiful name."

Though his voice was soft and kind, his stomach turned at the thought of his daughter forever asleep in her crib. How long had they prayed for a child? How long had they been talking about it, thinking about names on how best to raise a royal child... Kidd had already decided that he wouldn't leave the child alone as he was, and have an early corranation. No, he wanted to be there and be the father he never had. His stomach did another flip as Kiddonu realized that he had missed his first and only child's birth.

And the birth- maids had thought she was a still- born, dead? That was troubling in itself. Who was too say that the child wasn't sick or mental? True, Kiddonu would lover her anyway, but she was too young to place faith directly in the child's survival only to be crushed. He would pray tonight and every night in his head until he was sure that he wouldn't be too hurt by the child's death. No, this wasn't just a child. This was his child, his daughter, and she was as beautiful as her mother.

Kiddonu let Mia take her back without protest, and again his stomach churned. No wonder the child wasn't eager to be with him; He hadn't been there, and hadn't even known about her birth up until a couple minutes ago. He felt cold as some color left his face before returning. After all, Maara probably wouldn't remember any of today, the day before, or tomarrow. He smiled, looking back at Mia, his lover.

"True, there will not be a prince, but who says the heir to the throne has to be male?" Kiddonu had always been one for discarding strict traditions and at the same time keeping majority of the lesser ones. He chuckled warmly and said, "Maybe I'll get lucky and teach her to ride a horse, eh?"

At this point, Kidd decided that he didn't care. It probably would have been nicer for him to have a son, but it couldn't be helped. When praying to the Gods, one shouldn't be specific, and this was the best day his eyes had ever seen and better than his heart dared to dream.

Necilia smiled, "Thank you sir." She said politely, thanking him for the compliment.

"Thats quite flattering but you'd have to ask the King about my placement. It isn't my place after alll if you're being serious." She said, referring to him wanting her as a warrior, she didn't know if she belived it or not. Might be a joke and she misunderstood. She hoped that if it was a joke her responce would sound witty so she wouldn't look srupid.

"Their room is over here, I think the King had just returned from escorting the warriors home." Necilia walked up to the large double doors to the king's and queen's room and rapped lightly on the door. She hadn't seen the baby yet either and was feeling a bit giddy at this point. The baby was a gift from the Gods since they couldn't produce, she had heard.

Kidd opened his mouth to say a witty comeback to Mia as she put their child back in her crib, but his thoughts where disturbed at a knock at the door. He shrugged his shoulders, deciding that who ever it was better have important buisness to state, not just some villagers or warriors wanting to see the princess. How inconsiderate could they be? He had made sure that every of his surviving warriors had made it home and embraced their families, couldn't he do the same for ten precous minutes?

"I got it," He said as he stood and walked towards the door. He was sore and tired, and though the high of seeing his daughter for the first time was yet to be stopped, he was anxious to end the day and rest. His face, soft as a dove's feathers a moment ago, had stiffened into its usual, ruling glare that seemed quite expressionless. He opened the door, his  face unchanged. He nearly slammed it shut in a familiar warrior's face again, but quickly noticed her acompanyment.

Kiddonu let out a small bow to the High God, then turned back to his warrior. As surprised (and slightly pleased) as he was to see the God Kyin, his duties came first to his people as he had vowed at his correnation. "Yes, Necilia? Do you have need?"

This seemed to be the right thing to say, even if it did put off the God. This was her day off, after all. It was possible she simply escorted the God to their quarters, which put him off a little, but that didn't change his prioraties in the slightest.
