Eclipse awoke from her deep slumber and raised her head. The sky was dark from all the smoke coming from one of the villages, The sky had been like this for days and no one knew why it was. Eclipse raised her wings and flew into the sky, her strong wing beats filled the air and several humans in the town scattered while others took out their bows and tried to shoot at her. This place had once been free of the horrible pests but after a few years they had come, killing phoenixes, griffins, even dragons. The land was now cursed with the human infestation and they had made it clear they where here to stay. She flew over the nests of the Clan and flew to high tree, a meeting place of the phoenixes. " Welcome Eclipse," One of the other leaders said to her as they meet eyes." Hello Ethan," she said nodding her head to the other phoenix. She walked into the middle of the giant tree and flew up to one of the branches around a couple of other phoenixes. There had used to be millions of phoenixes but that time was over. There where fifty phoenixes that still lived at the tree and no one knew any others.
In the middle of the five high phoenixes was a human girl standing there." We have reports that they are going to burn down the tree in two days time," the girl said nodding her head to Eclipse as she spoke.

Luna woke up as her sister took to the air. Every morning everyday she did the same thing, heard the reports, saved the phoenixes, and then came home late for dinner.
She sighed and flew up into the sky and landed at her friends place. She knocked on the door and a little boy answered the door. Her friend know lived in the inn where some humans lived because the Towns people had burned down her home. She walked in and saw her Friend Lily waiting for her," Morning Lily," she said as the Lily noticed her. " Luna! It has been what? Four days! I have missed you so much! There are only old hags living in the Inn and it is SO BORING!." Lily yelled at the top of her lungs. Luna smiled and replied," WELL THE OLD HAGS SURE ARE GREAT WHERE I COME FROM." She had not been born at the tree but another smaller colony in dragon territory. Sometimes she had missed the woods, but the colony had been attacked by humans and her parents had died. Eclipse had taken her in and showed her the ropes of the Tree and had shown her everything she needed to know if she needed anything. Eclipse had even introduced her to Ethan, She sighed thinking about the older phoenix, as far as the tree phoenixes go he was the best. He was strong, handsome, smart, brave, everything Luna had ever dreamed of. He also happened to be her sister's partner in crime.

Macey had been stuck in the clouds again but she liked it that way. She loved the wind in her face and the beautiful sky and clouds along with the warm sun. Macey liked a good race with other Griffins, the others thought she was small and slow but she knew she wasnt so today was her day.

Eclipse talked with the circle of the tree hoping to make some kind of agreement." WE NEED TO ATTACK," someone yelled in the back," No we must!" Someone else yelled. Soon all the words that came out where, Your wrong, Whats with you, Who woke in the wrong nest and I AM THE ONLY ONE THAT IS RIGHT. Eclipse didn't say anything until the very end when she said," I think we all need to do something, action is the best thing to do. We must find the Crystal Rose." the room hushed and was silent until someone stood up and said," That was a legend, nothing more than a tall tail." The other phoenixes stated muttering about how he was right." Do we know? It seems to me this is the perfect plan and the perfect way out of this mess. A crystal rose that can transport you into a different world. The legend said that there was a colony of dragons that needed a place to go, somewhere safe, some place good. They where transported to a magical world where everything was perfect. The dragons, feeling sorry for the other creatures on the earth, made a gate way to the place called Adreamter. The gate way was found years ago, but the key was lost. The crystal Rose is the only way we can survive!"

Macey transformed into her normal human form before she entered the town. No one at the town knew she was a shape shifter and she liked it that way. Instead of having a family she had a foster home which she 'loved'. When she opened the door her foster parents were there with dissapointed looks on their face. Macey realized how late it was and she didnt really care if they were mad either. "Where have you been young lady?!" her foster father asked angrily. "Yes your cerfew is 8:00 sharp and you know that!" her mo ther boomed. Macey just rolled her eyes you guys dont have tto wait for me. And so what if im a few hours late. I was just.. out." Macey said as she ate a piece of pepperoni pizza. "It is 11:00 now! Go to your room your grounded!" her father yelled. She just rolled her eyes and went upstairs. It was the same routine for her everyday ; Wake up, get ready , eat breakfast, go race and come back before 8:00. Except the comming back before 8:00 part never worked out. For Macey it was too easy to sneak out of her room she would just transform into a Griffin and fly away. Later she decided to just leave her boring room and go back to the forest. She opened her window and sneaked almost slipping on the roof bricks. Macey then ran into the forest but before she changed to her Griffin she came past a tree where lots of Pheonex's were arguing. "What the heck.." Macey said to herself as she watched and listened

Luna flew to the town and turned into a human, She might not be able to do anything else but she could turn into a human. She ran to her foster home and was meet with two angry faces. " Just like Macey, Child it is 11:00! Your grounded!" Luna ran up to her room, right next to Macey's. "  She turned back into a phoenix and flew to Macey's window. When she landed inside she turned back and whispered into air," Macey? Are you there." Because of her white eyes she had to pass as a blind person. Macey was gone.

FLASHBACK!!
Luna was in a tree with a dozen dead bird surrounding her, the fire around her made her tears turn to mist and her body slowly turned into ash. Unless a phoenix was killed by fire of old age they where dead forever, no going back nothing. Her mother, father, friends, family, all gone, everything was dead and she was going to dye soon to. There was no way she would make it out of this one and there was no way she could save anyone else.

Eclipse was yelling at a couple of the older phoenixes about how her idea might work when a griffin appeared. Ethan sat in the corner trying to look small and adding a few words in and out of the conversation as it started heating up, but Eclipse noticed him and told him to come here." Ethan front and center!" Ethan scrambled to Eclipse and put his head down. " Yes Eclipse?" He asked looking very meek. " Ethan please tell that Griffin to come here for a second please." Ethan bowed his head and flew up to Macey.

Ethan smiled and said," Your self is needed in the courtroom of the tree." He was new so he wasn't used to the formalities of the courtroom.

Eclipse watched as Ethan flew to the griffin, she was happy he wasn't going to be here for what she was about to say," We need a quest." The courtroom froze. " A quest? What is wrong with you Eclipse? A quest is the last thing we need." one of the elders said.
 

Macey listened and heard about the part about the Crystal Rose yet she had no idea what it was about. "Crystal Rose?.." she asked herself. She then realized she was still in her human form while the Pheonex's were actual mystical creatures. "Oh great.." Macey said to herself. She wanted to shapeshift but she knew she would make too much noise, whenever she shapeshifted her animal made a loud screeching sound. When Macey tried to lean in to hear better she tripped and fell on a pile of sharp twigs and thorns. "Ow!" Macey accidently said aloud. When the Pheonix came over she was STILL in human form. She brushed herself off and carefully followed him. "How'd you know I was a Grffin?" she asked him

Ethan smiled," Eclipse told me," He told her, He shape shifter into a human." I know A way to get to the tree on foot." He ran top speed up to the top of the tree holding a gold string leaving a trail for the Griffin. When he reached the top of the tree Eclipse was sitting on her branch in human form. Her long black hair fell across her shoulders and her dark black eyes darted back and forth waiting for something to happen. Some of the other console had changed into humans to, most old men, but a few others stayed in there phoenix forms. They waited until the griffin came up to the tree. A few of the elders growled about how small there human forms where and how they wanted to change back, but they all stayed in there old men forms.

Luna sighed, Macey wasn't here and it was time for her to go back to the tree. She turned into a phoenix and flew to the tree, her silverfish rainbow colored feathers leaving a train of silver and pink across the sky. When she made her way to the tree she heard the sounds of a million angry people. She sighed and turned into a human heading towards the counsel room. When she got there they where talking about the crystal rose. It was a fable about some crazy dragons or something. She hid in a small hollow hole until Ethan had flew to get some griffin. She walked silently to her sisters chair and tried to get her attention. When Eclipse turned into a human she was shocked, she had never seen Eclipse in human form and was surprised to see she wasn't an old women, by the way she acted Luna had just assumed that she was.

Macey wasnt sure about following them, but she did so anyway. Might as well risk something to make anything adventurous. She said in her mind. Macey then did the same as the boy she followed and looked around her. Lots of shape shifters in one tree, it all looked like some kind of meeting. Macey didnt want to admit she was listening but she asked anyway "Whats a Crystal Rose?" she askec. Macey thought they'd surely question her or beat her until she admitted it so she was ready for anything. Macey knew she told no one she was a shapeshifter but obiously these people founf out. She thought that maybe she could run or fly away with her spped and they'd never catch her. But what if it was im[injection]portant? So instead she stayed put and waited for their answer. Macey suddenly saw Luna and hid her face behind her beanie hat and made no eye contact with Luna thinking that would keep her from recongnizing
