(( Thank you <3

I really don't care if the packs are in an all out war or not, that's up to you guys, but at least a little tension would be preferred, in my case. :D ))

((Okay, I guess we're doing the fighting! 8D I think there should be tension, but not an all out war. They just hate each other and have little skirmishes here and there. If we decide later in the roleplay to make them go to war, I'm fine with that as well.

As for starting the RP, everyone is welcome to post their intros! <33))

Dove crept along, her head and belly low, tail up. Her belly fur brushed the ground, and her ears were pinned against her head. Just a few yards from her waiting paws was a handsome elk that would make her pack proud. She might even be upgraded from her lowly rank as an omega. Suddenly, she launched forward, locking onto the elk's powerful hindquarters. It let out a wail of surprise, and bolted forward. While it ran, Dove clawed her way up the animal's back, until she was at it's neck. She bent her neck and sank her teeth into the animal's neck, feeling the blood stain her teeth. The deer screamed and collapsed, but just before it did Dove leaped from her perch and landed a few feet away from the now-motionless body. She crouched down to pick up her prey and drag it away, completely unaware she was on the wrong side of the border.

((I also changed Kaylee's rank to alpha. Just because I felt like it. e.e))

The calm forest seemed silent, frozen in time as the blue gaze of a predictor locked on the flashing yellow figure before it. The world was made of glass for an instant, every creature living on it threatening to break the silence, thus shattering the planet they lived on. And no one did, for a moment. But at the end of that moment, the thin string that held the world together was broken, and time suddenly began to tick again. Kaylee blinked, the bright yellow butterfly drifting off on the soft breeze. The cry of an elk still rang in the alpha's ears as she looked up at the sky, trying to pinpoint where that sound was coming from. It sounded like it was on the border, possibly on the Kallek's side, but she wasn't sure.

"Garret," The soft voice of the alpha called, her gaze still locked on the sky. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a white wolf with black markings advance to her side.

"Yes?" He asked in a masculine voice. Garret was Kaylee's oldest friend, one she had known since she was only months old. He was white with the normal blue eyes, but his paws and nuzzle were an odd black color.

"Are there any hunters out by the border?" Kaylee asked, looking down from the sky and back at Garret, her face serious.

"No, I don't think so. Why do you ask?" He inquired, tilting his head slightly the way he always had.

"Nothing. Get one of the others, we are going to look at something." Kaylee muttered. Garret barked something to the pack behind him, and a wolf with cream colored markings came to his side. Kaylee turned in the direction of the elk's cry, and broke into a run, Garret and the cream colored wolf following behind her. It didn't take very long to get there, seeing as Kaylee was a very fast runner, and so was Garret. Skidding to a stop, the alpha barked a quiet warning to the others; be alert. Right in front of her was the border. Any Vareen that crossed was fair game for the Kallek.

After a thorough examination of the other side as far as she could see, Kaylee took a step back from the border. As she did so, however, the cry came again. Kaylee squinted, trying to see farther, but nothing happened.

"May I ask why we are here, Kaylee?" The soft voice of Garret asked from a few yards behind the alpha. She just shook her head in response.

"Is everyone accounted for?" She asked in the same soft, low voice. A quiet chatter between Garret and the cream wolf occurred, before dying out.

"All but Dove, Ma'am." The cream wolf said. Kaylee growled to herself, knowing what must have taken place. No one but Dove would be so stupid...

"Stay here." She hissed at the two wolves behind her, as she cautiously took a step over the border. Nothing happened. She took another step over the border, and still nothing. After a few more steps, she started into a quick walking speed. It didn't take long for a huge elk to come into view, and dragging it in the wrong direction, Dove.

Kaylee's pace quickened into a run, her silent feet hardly leaving a print in the snow. "Dove!" She growled, now only yards behind her. It took only a moment for the alpha to cut in front of the wolf, her teeth barred. Her ears flattened ageist her head, her upper body sinking to the ground in a threatening display.

What was she thinking, hunting over the border? Alone? Dragging an elk through the snow, leaving a path for anyone to follow? This is why Dove was an Omega, and nothing more.

((omg. Guys. I'm so sorry. I got carried away. D:))

Dove immediately backed up when Kaylee ran up to her, dropping the deer which hung from her jaws. When she noticed how angry her alpha looked, and confusion flitted across her face. "Wh-wha-what did I do wrong?" She sniffed, raising a single paw. Her eyes were depressed, so she kept them downward. "I brought you this..." She feebly pushed the carcass toward Kaylee and looked away, her ears flat against her skull in a display of sadness.

Zayne watched intently from the protective shadows of the forest. He'd seen this female, killing his prey, and dragging it away. He considered confronting her but let it go; until the second female---the alpha---joined her. He stepped from his hiding place and padded into sight, not showing any particular emotion or anger or displeasure. When he'd came close enough to talk to the two females, he sat, his tail around around his paws. "I can expect the omega to not follow the ancient rules of the pack---but the alpha? Now, isn't that a bit peculiar?" He stood, his fur now bristled out. "I suggest you leave the prey, take your pathetic excuse of a wolf home---" he motioned to Dove, "or I can kill you now." He smiled lopsidedly, "Your choice."

Dove glanced at Kaylee, her eyes wide and begging. 'Don't leave me for him to tear me apart.' Her eyes read. 'Please'.

Zayne caught the glance Dove gave her alpha but didn't say another word.

"Well, this is amusing to say the least. A form of entertainment, if you will," Myka said quietly, coldly. She was in plain sight, as always--she wasn't one for cowering or hiding--but her thick white fur kept her from sight, as well as insulated against The only physical characteristics that might give away her position were her attentive green eyes, or perhaps her slight shadow, if one were to look close enough. There was, of course her scent, but in many cases, in such bitter wind, it would be more difficult than usual to pinpoint her exact location.

"Yes M'lady... will you intervene?" the wolf next to her asked, her wispy coat fluttering in the breeze, revealing the unusual light gray undercoat underneath. This wolf's eyes were wide, and looked huge next to her small, but strong body. Years of neglect and abuse as a low-ranked Omega had weakened her, but she was much better today than she was a year ago.

"Of course not. Zayne can easily handle himself, and if he can't, then what better way to learn than to gain some experience out in the field? And Koa, there's absolutely no reason to call me 'm'lady.' You're a normally ranked member, my name will suffice." Myka said with a touch of exasperation. The wolf next to her was a close friend and guardian, but at times she could be a pain. Despite her age--the same as Myka's-- the she-wolf had spent most of her life in the Omega position of the pack, due only to her small size. Koa was smart, at least, and had done quite well in her position, but there was no possible way for her to thrive. Myka cared deeply about Kallek, despite some of her actions, and it bothered her to see a wolf suffer for no reason other than a physical one.

"As you wish," Koa dipped her hea, to which Myka rolled her eyes.

"Lighten up a bit," she teased, gently nudging her friend with a fore-paw. Koa barely flinched, staring silently ahead, her eyes fixed on Vareen's Alpha. Kaylee was young, and whether it be right or not, both wolves watching her were more than willing to judge her for her actions, which is why they watched so carefully, waited so patiently. One wrong move could be interpreted as a sign of weakness on Kaylee's part, and Myka didn't like to sit around for too long, at least not when Vareen was involved. So she continued to watch the unfolding drama, her friend refereeing by her side.

(( Goodness, it seems I'm a little rusty. I'm not going to bring Kothan in yet, but I haven't forgotten about him at least. ))

Kaylee watched as the other wolves appeared, and the situation went from bad to worse, then from worse to a lot worse. She caught the glance Dove gave her, but she looked away before she could respond. Her blue eyes  darted from one wolf to the next, trying to decide how to handle this. Giving them the elk would most likely result in a fight either way, and attacking them right out wasn't a very good option, seeing as it wasn't something the Vareen were known to do.

"I apologize for the intrusion into your territory, sir, I was in the process of removing this foolish pup from it. If you would let me continue," Her ears perked up, her body standing in a more normal position. She looked back in the direction where Garret and the cream wolf were waiting for her. What would happen if she didn't return? Would they go after her? Garret would, but the rest? Not probable. "Dove." She commanded in a stern tone, slowly starting to walk back to the border.

((Sona couldn't log into Res, so she told me to post it for her. Here is her reply~))

Dove stood still for a moment. “But…the deer…” She sighed and trailed after Kaylee, her head hung low. She was just trying to help…she bit back sadness and caught up with her alpha. “I’m not a pup, you know…” she whispered, avoiding direct eye contact with her.
Zayne flicked his tail, and took a single step forward as if he was going to follow. But he faltered, moved back two paces, and turned his tail to the two Vareen wolves, muttering to himself, “It’s not worth it.” He watched the two leave, the smaller female---the omega---complaining about something, and then turned back around and dipped his head, then clamped his jaws around the deer’s throat. He lifted his head, the carcass hanging from his jaws. He padded away, the deer dragging behind him.

((I was going to wait for Wulfey to post... but I can right now I suppose... sorry for any inconvenience.))

Kothan watched Dove carefully, his emotionless, clear blue eyes following her as she trailed behind Kaylee. Kothan was a smaller wolf, due to his young age still, and some wolves couldn't bring themselves to take him seriously, but this? This was downright shameful. He was known for his playfulness in situations that didn't necessarily require humor, and he wasn't exactly popular with his elders or higher-up because of it, but he wasn't an idiot. Not like Dove. Maybe she wasn't stupid, but she had certainly acted in a very reckless today.

Kothan knew his place. He sat near the back of the assembled wolves, ears pricked, waiting for a command from either his Beta or his Alpha. He would prove to the other wolves here that he was nothing like an Omega, and knew how to handle himself, despite some of his occasional antics. In a way Kothan had a deep desire to please, as well as a strong defiance and reluctance to follow directions. There were wolves he admired, and others he despised for one reason or another. Maybe they abused their rank, maybe they thought the knew everything. Yet Dove was an odd case. He certainly didn't admire her, but he most certainly didn't despise her either. His feelings toward the she-wolf were, if anything, something along the lines of pity.

Thinking back, Kothan realized that those feelings hadn't changed since the day he met Dove, and at that thought, a wave of shame crashed over him, and he looked away from the she-wolf, unable to continue looking at her, because if he did, he knew he would start screaming at the wolves on the other side of the border, dragging the deer that was brought down by a Vareen wolf further away from the pack that deserved it.

---

"We'll follow Zayne, now that that was cleared up," Myka said with a flick of her tail, rising to her paws.

"I'm sure the Omega was well-meaning," Koa said almost defensively, and perhaps a little nervously. Myka shot her friend a sideways glance from over her shoulder.

"Perhaps so, but wolves have rules and standards that need to be followed, and if those standards are not reinforced, they become pointless, and then everything turns to chaos," Myka said, getting a faraway look in her eyes. She would know better than most, having risen to power due to her father's failure to keep not only his own, but Vareen's wolves in line as well. They were crossing the borders back then as well, stealing food, and Myka had also put a stop to it then as well. For now she was content to let Zayne handle it, however she wouldn't hesitate to step in should the time come.

"Come," the Alpha commanded, raising her tail like a flag before charging off down the slope yo greet her Beta and his reclaimed kill.
