From under the canopy of leaves, something caught her eye; it was a bird, its dark feathers clear in the sky like ink on a blank page. Demi smiled to herself and watched it with clear grey eyes, trying to determine what it was saying. Usually it was about air currents, or prey-plentiful spots...
The bird was just flying.
Demi shrugged- it probably had nothing interesting to share. And besides, it wasn't even in a flock.
That struck her as odd. It was a type of bird that rarely flew solo. After a few minutes she launched into the air, soaring after it.
She took a deep breath, then imitated a hawk's warning cry. Bird calls seemed to come naturally to her, at complete perfection; maybe it had to do with her power.

Rope looked up at the sky and called out. "Hey Dusk, think we're ready for a break? It's close to 2 pm...we've been at this a while." He kicked some dust up and formed it into a baseball. The boy juggled it hand to hand until it disipated and fell through his fingers as dirt once more.

Tomix turned to face Demi "How are you now ?"he asked seeing if she would freack out like most people do when an animal starts to talk to them I wonder if she knows I'm Tomix

Demi blinked, then dipped a few feet in the air before rising up again, casually swerving up and down. "Oh, so you're not a real bird." She said, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "You're a shapeshifter, right? I'm Demi. I just manipulate air."
She had no idea that it was Tomix, nor did she think it was unusual that the bird was talking to her. It's not like other people couldn't have powers. Why not a shapeshifter? It made perfect sense to her.
She surged forward until she was soaring beside Tomix, her clothes rippling slightly.

Rope chuckled and turned, looking back up at the sky. He shuffled his feet and figeted; Being ADD had never been easy for him, one of the reasons he had decided to drop school and help his grampa. The kids making fun of him for never fitting in didnt help either. It was one of the reasons he was so open and easy going most of the time...didnt want others to feel like they didnt belong.

Demi blinked. "Oh." She said, then blushed with embarra.ssment. "Sorry. I didn't realize. Nice to see you again." She grinned, but the cheerful ex
pression fell when she followed his gaze down to Max.
She sighed to herself, and rubbed her palm against her forehead. So melodramatic. She thought. I just told him to leave me alone, because I was mad at him. He shouldn't get all depressed about something like that.
"Well, be right back then, setting some things straight." She veered to the left, then let herself fall down to the general area where Max was. She walked for a few seconds, shoving aside branches and foliage. It's so damn cluttered here. She thought with frustration. Everything was easier in the air.
Finally she leaned against a tree, crossing her arms. "Max?" She called quietly.

Demi looked at him with surprise. Damn, I need to learn how to navigate these forests. She thought, then shook her head to clear the thoughts.
"Um. Right. I came to apologize." She said. "I've shed some... emotions since you last talked to me. I promise I don't bite, and really, I do forgive you." She smiled tentatively, as if asking, 'Is that okay?'
Her cheeks reddened as she realized how pretentious she must sound. "I'm sorry for the way I acted, too." She added quietly.
