Laina didn't find it unusual for a small silence to ensue her revelation. It wasn't every day that you met someone like her that was forced out of their own home. In fact, such occurrences were almost nonexistent.

When he answered her question with an explanation, she froze in her tracks. Uhm... He was looking for pokehumans, and he was looking for them. She furrowed his brows. Maybe he hadn't seen her clearly. Maybe he was just teasing her. She hoped he wasn't teasing her.

She found no harm in telling him about herself. After all, he was looking for people like her. And she was right in front of him. He apparently wanted to be around pokehumans, and he'd stumbled upon one by mere chance. She let her lips curve into a slight smile.

"Well, I guess I'm one of those people you're looking for." She scuttled across the floor so that she was sitting in front of him instead of beside him. Her brown eyes were fixed on his glasses. There was just enough light coming from the cave entrance to allow her silhouette to be lit.

She wiggled her ears, and then her tail as if to draw Sidney's attention to them. She didn't think that he could hurt her. Plus, if he did, she had pokemon DNA in her blood. She could hurt him way easier than he could hurt her. Well, Laina didn't really have any special abilities. She was a normal type pokemon-human hybrid. She was very agile, though, so she could run quickly if needed. However, if she was caught, she was such a light weight that she'd have little to no chance unless she cheap-shotted her attacker.

"You've found what you're looking for, I guess..."

"Hmm..." Kyuron's tails adopted a bounce, much like one would shake their leg or tap their fingers. They moved like toes, when one moved so did the others.

"I wasn't near people when I transformed, I was walking around on my own. When I happened it panicked. Though to my knowledge nobody saw me leave, however, at the time I was fleeing I heard commotion and yelling, the only word I distinctively heard was 'Gijinka'"

Her tails were still as she took a more thoughtful ex
pression

"Only later did it occur to me that it could have been somebody else. I must have been one of the first to change in my village. It was only after I left that I discovered it wasn't the only one. I had picked a direction and walked. Though at this point I wouldn't be able to tell you how far my village is or what direction..." with a lopsided smile she added "I suppose I'm lost"

Kyuron was happy and excited, she hadn't held a conversation with anyone since she left, and any encounter with other people had been frightful and fleeting. Though she knew better then to trust a stranger entirely, the encounter was enough to restore her slowly diminishing sense of joy.

"You know, it's not all bad being part beast."  Ace displayed a wide grin.  "I've discovered that with the transformation comes new abilities..."  He thought about his smell, which normally flooded the air.

"That reminds me, please excuse the stench."  His cheeks turned a rosy hue.  "That's my special new power.  I can create a horrid smell that comes from the tip of my tail.  Not the best power you could have, but it keeps other people and animals away."

Ace leaned toward Kyuron with interest.  "So, you notice anything special about yourself since you transformed?  Besides the multiple tails and ears, of course...  Lucky you, I only got one tail."  He joked, wondering what kinds of abilities other like him had developed.

~~~~~
It was at that moment that Sidney came to a rapid realization.  Everything around him seemed to pause for an instant as his eyes finally managed to fully examine her.  He lost his breath in disbelief; this whole time what he'd been searching for was right in front of him.  So much potential.  She was unlike anything he had ever seen.
And now was the perfect time to get what he came for.  This was the golden opportunity.  She was vulnerable, sitting on the floor and unsuspecting.
Sidney swiftly positioned himself in front of the entrance to the dug- out, so as to block any attempt at escape.  In one fluent motion he snatched a Pokeball from his bag and raised it in the air, his glasses glinting in the small amount of light there was.
His elevated arm began to tremble.  Her innocent brown stare created a feeling of guilt inside him.  He then threw the Pokeball.  Not at Laina, but at the cold wet ground outside the cavern.  He emptied the remaining Pokeballs onto the soil alongside the other one.  He sighed and stood motionless, unable to look back at her.  She was probably freightened and most likely wanted him gone.  But he didn't want to go.  She fascinated him with her fluffy tail and floppy ears, and he wanted to know her story.  Why was she what she was?
Finally, he decided to speak.  "I'm so sorry.  It's just...  Well, I thought you would be different.  The news made you seem like beasts, not people.  And I was so bent on capturing one of your kind for the benefit of science."  He paused briefly.  "Now that I've met you, I understand that you're just another person like I am.  Only a monster could lock a human being away in one of those spherical prisons."
"Well this is a neat party trick," With a smile gently blew, producing a small flame. There were tiny sparks around it, presumably reacting with chemicals in the air.
That however, was not her trick. She rolled up her sleeve, and stuck her arm into the fire. The little flame flared intensely.
She closed her mouth and withdrew her arm, which was reddened but otherwise unharmed.
"The drawback is that water tends to make me really sluggish, and I tend to trip over my own feet" she motioned toward her large, pawed feet.
Laina was surprised by Sidney's reaction to her being a pokehuman. Her big brown eyes were wide as he got up, blocking her way out. His threatening stance and movements made her get up from her seated position, ears back in a mix of fright and anger. How dare this guy...
She was distracted by her own thoughts so that she only noticed the pile balls when they hit the ground outside with light 'thump's. Her head tilted to the side. Either this guy's eyesight was worse than she first thought, or he was just being mean, taunting her, making her think that she could escape.
However, when he finished speaking, she truly was shocked. So... He wouldn't try to capture her after all?
She let loose of a breath she didn't know she had been holding. Her tail relaxed slightly, though she was shaking. She was glad that he didn't want to lock her up in a pokeball. Laina treasured her freedom.
"Oh my god, I was so scared there for a minute," Laina said, sighing. "I'm glad you're not a bad person." She paused. "I'm Laina, by the way."
Sora just simply shrugged, and waited for the girl to take her picture and go. Although Sora didn't have the best feeling about this situation, she decided to stick around. Honestly, Sora thought this girl was quite interesting. It was a very odd day for her though. Not every day did she get to see a normal human. She didn't know wether she could even call herself human anymore. "What's your name?" Sora asked. "I want to know what to call you." She asked wondering if the girl knew she herself also had a name.
"That's cool."  Ace replied after seeing her fire trick.  He couldn't help but chuckle at her foot dilemma, feeling lucky that his own feet had remained normal.
The rain outside had come to complete halt, the evening sun just barely poking above the horizon.  Ace's stomach roared in hunger, causing him to glance around for a food source.  When he spotted the lake outdoors, an idea crossed his mind.  He retrieved an old fishing pole that he had brought with him when he left his village.  It wasn't exactly fancy, but it could do the job.
"I could really use some dinner.  You're probably hungry too."
He exited the cavern, surveying the area for bait.  He plucked a helpless little worm off the ground and stuck in on the hook.  He then cast his line out, sitting by the water and patiently waiting for a bite.
~~~~

"I'm Sidney."  He said.  He looked outside and realized that the weather had cleared.  His gaze shifted back to Laina, and then to the outdoors again.

"Well, the rain stopped, so I guess I can go now."  He truly didn't want to leave, but it was going to be night soon and his parents might notice if he's not there.

((Can't think of much DX))

Kyuron stumbled as she tried to push herself up, and finally caught her balance. Light was beginning to break over the horizon, and the rain had given the forest a saturated appearance.

As Ace patiently gazed into the water, Kyuron wandered about, trying to make herself useful and aid in the quest for food. She stayed within earshot, not wandering far. It was then, in the silence the rain had left, that her large ears were able to pick the sound. She was still and could have sworn it was the murmur of voices.

Kyuron returned to Ace, "Are you sure no one's around here? I thought I heard somebody talking in the distance..."

He had said that there was a village past the large hill in the distance, but this sounded closer.

Laina was interested by his name. She'd never met a guy named Sidney. It was a cool name. Her ears were perked up, but when he said that he could leave, they drooped again. Her tail momentarily stopped moving.

She hadn't talked to another person in ages, it seemed, and she loved company. She didn't want him to leave. Her childish mannerisms took over again as she bounced up to him, clutching his arm to his torso in the most non-annoying way possible.

"No, don't leave," she said, pouting, bottom lip poked out slightly. Her brown eyes were pleading with him, and, if he left, she would probably be depressed for a few days. She considered anyone she met a friend until they did something to lose her trust. So, for now, Sidney was a friend.

~~~~~~~~~~
Cecilia's eyes showed a bit of surprise as the girl didn't run away. She'd expected the pokehumans to run away like celebrities evading paparazzi. Her blue eyes skimmed the Pikachu girl again, biting her lip.
She covered up her lack of a camera with a quickly thought up excuse.
"Crap," she said with her usual straight face. "I left my camera at home. The most important thing. Five bucks says I left it on my bed." She rolled her eyes and flawlessly put a palm to her head. "Well, the weather's cleared up."
"Since I don't have my camera, do you mind me asking you a few questions to find out as much as I can?"
Sora shrugged. "Sure I guess." She replied. She had no idea what she was getting herself into. What harm could a few questions do? She thought to her self. For all she knew she would probably never see this girl again. Sora paused before realizing the girl never gave out her name. " put first you have to tell me your name." Sora insisted. She didn't want to have to call her girl or human, because Sora would certainly hate being called something other than her name.
Ace's ears perked up in an attempt to pick up any stray noise.  He didn't hear anything, but he didn't have very good hearing to begin with.
"There could be people here.  But I doubt they'll bother us..."  He planted the fishing pole firmly in the ground, smirking as he paced a good distance away from the girl.  He wiggled his tail, wiping the tip of it on an unlucky tree.  A transparent fluid was left on the bark, making it reek horribly.
"Sorry about the smell.  It's just that it keeps others away.  You'd have to have very poor smell to come wandering around here now."
He retrieved the pole from the ground, returning to a lazy slouch by the water's edge.
"One more thing...  If any humans come around here I want you to run."  Ace came to level of seriousness.  "There's no telling what they'd do with you."  He didn't really fear for himself so much as he did the other pokehumans.  No person would want to deal with his stench for more than a moment or two, after all.
~~~~

Sidney was taken by complete surprise when she sprang up and grabbed him.  He couldn't stay here, that was for sure.  His parents would search for him when they realized he wasn't home.  He wasn't so much worried about them finding him here in the woods as he was worried about them finding Laina.  She wasn't exactly a normal thing and there was no telling how his parents would react if they saw her.

He thought about alternative plans, not wanting to upset his new friend.  He plucked a cell phone out of his pocket, tapping buttons in quick succession.  The phone beeped and vibrated soon after, carrying a message from his mom.

k

That was the only thing the phone read.  He grinned, locking eyes with Laina.  "I can stay."

Sidney was a little nervous, as he had told his mom that he was staying at a friend's house. In a sense that was true, but he knew this was not exactly what his mom was thinking when she said it was okay.

Laina was confused when he pulled out his phone. Was he about to call someone? Nope. He was texting. She'd never had a cell phone of her own, but she'd seen others with them. Her eyes struggled to read the screen, but it wasn't close enough for her to pick out letters. Sidney was a bit taller than her, so he held it higher than she would normally have held it.

As he said that he could stay, she grinned, releasing his arm and bouncing around him in a full circle, tail swishing and ears bobbing with each movement.

"Yay!" She turned to him and almost jumped on him, but she was very, very light, so she wouldn't knock him over. Her feet were off of the ground as she gave him the hug of a lifetime, like she hadn't seen him in a million years.

"You can have my bed. I'll sleep on the floor," she said with a smile as she released him from her embrace. She was taught to always treat guests nicely. In this case, she'd be giving up her bed for the night. She'd also have to pull out some of her stashed up food to feed him. She had quite a few different sources of food- a nearby lake, berry bushes. She was a very resourceful girl.

~~~~~~~~~~
Cecilia struggled for a moment to think of a question to ask, but the girl requested her name first. "My name is Cecilia," she said. The name sounded foreign on her tongue, so she added. "Some people call me by my middle name- Logan."
She decided to ask this girl her first question. It mirrored the question that Cecilia had to answer. "Now that I've told you my name, may I know yours?"
Sidney had never seen so much excitement come out of one person.  He shuddered in her warm embrace, not used to hugs from anyone.  His mind questioned why she had been so thrilled by his presence.  Girls, or people in general, had never really liked him, especially not in this friendly way that she so openly displayed.  Perhaps her isolation made even him shine like a star.
A yawn escaped from deep within his lungs.  He couldn't help but wonder how she managed to get a bed in here, or where said bed even came from.  Sidney felt rather bad that she would have to sleep on the floor, but he didn't want to refuse her kind offer.  For the time being, he took a seat on the floor, finding it a bit early to go to sleep.
A flash of moonlight illuminated Sidney's pale face, brightening his dull eyes and putting a shimmer to his hair.
"I always have enjoyed star gazing."  He informed with a grin.  "It's a lot better with a telescope, though."  His steady gaze studied the night sky in search of anything interesting.
Laina wasn't too surprised as he yawned. She didn't think much of it. Ever since becoming a pokemon, so long as she wasn't hungry or stressed out, Laina would sleep whenever she felt like it. She had no designated sleeping schedule, though she liked to sleep when the sun was down. Sleeping with the sun up was difficult, to say the least.
She was stunned by his face as the moonlight shone on his skin. He was attractive, she guessed. She didn't consider that a bad thing. She thought it was good, actually. Laina didn't quite know how to describe her appearance. She had developed... curves within the past few years, so her figure couldn't be described as 'child-like' anymore.
Eh, she didn't really mind what she looked like, though, at times, she wished that she didn't have her pokemon features anymore. They'd caused nothing but trouble for her, until now. She'd actually made a friend who accepted her for what she was!
Laina, deciding not to stand awkwardly alone, laid down beside Sidney and looked up at the stars, too.
"The stars are pretty, really. I've only seen telescopes on television."
Sora thought this girl had a weird name, but her wasn't perfect either. She looked at Cecilia with cautious eyes. Honestly, she didn't know what to think of this girl. It was quite peculiar that she hadn't pulled out a poke'ball and try to catch her yet. Then Sora realized she hadn't answered Cecilia's question. "My name is Sora." She said simply. Wondering what the next few questions would be, Sora didn't want to run away before knowing. So thats what she did, Sora just stood there to answer some more questions.
Even from this distance, the scent was potent. It was indeed the same scent from the cave, but Kyuron was able to ignore it.
"Alright" She wasn't sure what they would do either. Whether she would be captured or shot on sight. What she did know was that a lab was a nightmarish place to be, and she didn't want to die. With her fire she could easily handle a human, but she could not stop a bullet.
Kyuron returned to trying to find food. With little success she finally had an idea. Whatever animals lived around here had to eat too. And by the third squirrel she finally found and followed around, she was rewarded with a couple handfuls of berries. Though she was sure that they were edible, she didn't eat any, as she returned to Ace, wondering if he hand any luck with the fish.
Ace's fishing rod began to tense and flex.  He had hooked one and begun to reel it in eagerly.  The fish fought valiantly for its life, but it soon gave in and was lifted out of the water.
Ace grinned at his catch, his stomach very thankful that it would soon receive nourishment.  It was large enough to feed both Ace and his guest generously.
"Hope you like seafood."  He turned to Kyuron, wearing a smile.
Several pieces of wood made the fire grow brighter and more intense.  Ace gently placed a flat rock onto a secure place in the flames, warming it up like a frying pan.  He used a sharp stone to cut the head off the fish and remove the bone and scales.  Careful not to burn his hands, he put the fish down on the hot rock, happy to hear it sizzle.
He glanced to Kyuron.  "I don't think I ever got your name...  I'm Ace, by the way."
~~~~

Sidney was surprised when she laid down so close to him.  Perhaps she saw him as a brother, as family that she no longer had.  He was rather confused as to how he viewed her.  She was the only girl who even spared him a glance.  And better yet, she seemed to actually enjoy his presence.

Inside he held a strange feeling.  Was this the feeling of true friendship?  Or something more?  Sidney decided not to dwell on that thought for too long.

Instead, he wondered what would happen later.  Surely he'd have to go home.  How would Laina feel about that?  Would she be alright with him going?  Sindey also feared that his parents would discover that he had been around a gijinka.  What would they do?
