Grain heard the alpha's call. She quickened her pace. Her ears twitched slightly, she suddenly stopped dead in her tracks. A metal claw trap clamped closed just an inch away from Grain's paws. Her ears skimmed down with fear immediately. Still carrying the half full water bottle, she quickly ran around the trap and back to the pack. Grain stumbled through the bushes where the pack was at. She tripped and tumbled into the ground, the water bottle crashes into the dirt.

[Oh Mercy I'm so sorry! I didn't even realize. I can't give you beta and mate positions, you will have to ask Laur for that. However I will accept Angel for now.]

( Okay, thank you. Do you mind if I call you Spiffeh-bear?)
Angel lifted her head. She ran to the Alpha as fast as she could. Angel skidded to a hault. She stopped at the Alpha's paws." Terribly sorry, Alpha." she said, bowing her head.

[Sure, that's cool.]

"Hullo there," Overboard said, grinning at the fae's entrance. His t*censored*le thumped against the ground, and he lifted his head. He glanced to his mate, wishing they could have a little more time alone. However, just as he was about to ask Angel to trot off, Kiteso appeared. She walked over to the alpha couple, dropping her prize in front of the male.

"A meal for you and you're mate, sir," she told him. "I found a small watered area, the fish swim in schools there." As she spoke, one wouldn't realize how childish her behavior was. Her voice was that of the wizened wolf mother, although she'd never had a whelp. She waited for the alpha's nod of approval before disapearing.

Overboard gently nudged the fish to his mate. Her hunger was more important.

Shaking her head gently Yari nudged it back. 'I ate a bit ago. Startled a hare as I was surveying the new territory. I'm full. Eat, love, and be strong. Our pack can't have a half-starved leader, now can they?'

Giving a small bark of amusement the alphess shot a glare at Angel. 'Yes?' she asked a bit coldly, wondering on what grounds the lower member of the pack had bothered the alpha pair.

Grain slowly rose to her feet. She looked over to where the waterbottle fell and notice bits of water was leaking from a punctured hole. Grain's ears dropped with sorrow as the water drained out of the bottle and soaked the dirt.

Kiteso moved over to her fellow scout, wondering what on Earth she was staring at. Her eyes caught the wet ground, and her heart sank. Oh, poor Grain. She lowered her head slightly, sniffing at the bottle. The stench of human was so strong it made her sneeze. She looked over at the fae. "It wouldn't have been enough for us," she pointed out kindly. "It was a good thought. I'm sure the alpha's will be pleased."

Overboard took the fish back under him, tearing it apart. It was so juicy, and as he looked up blood was sprawled over his maw. He nudged Yari gently, fixing her with a look. "My dear, it's alright," he cooed gently in her ear. He was a little laid back when it came to ranks. While he would always defend his position as leader, as long as no one was after it, he'd typically let the others slack and act like equals.

"The bottle wasn't all I found", Grain muttered. "Human claw traps southeast of here. I almost fell into one though I'm sure there's more", Grain said. She then sniffed the air slightly. "Why does it smell like fish?"

Kiteso grinned, laying down. She was awfully tired after the days work. "I found a small lake to the northwest, it's filled with fish. The stream that runs to it is full, too, so I don't think it's been touched by the humans yet. We should be fine for food and water for a while." She gave a high pitched yawn, staring at the water bottle. Why did humans have to invade their territory like this? "We'd better be sure to find those traps. They're a danger to us; imagine if a pup went wandering?" She shuddered.

With a huff the alpha turned her head pointedly, but she stopped her verbal attack on her subordinate. 'Alright,' she muttered mutinously, knowing better than to go against her mate's command, even if it wasn't direct.

Her tail stopped its thumping though, an evident sign of her displeasure. Afternoon nap broken, the slight and wiry female stood and padded off slowly, looking back over her shoulder. 'I'm going to go find the scouts,' she barked out.

Loping towards the trees she cast her nose in the air, searching for Grain and Kiteso.

Overboard laid his ears flat against his crane, feeling like a whelp who'd just been reprimanded. But she hadn't said anything cold. It was simply the fact that he'd ruined her good mood and sent her off. He turned his attention back to the Beta, a bit annoyed now. He should have known better. But peace among the pack was best... right?

Kiteso continued to laze in her spot with her fellow Scout, contemplating the water bottle information. Well, they knew that the north was safe- for now. She would scout further tomorrow, and perhaps convince the alpha's that it would be best to go a little higher. That was, if they thought the human traps were a sufficient problem.

[Aha yeah. Just within the limits of Over's markings I suppose. Grain said there were some bushes. I *censored*ume it's right near where the Forest gets thicker. I kind of imagine the pack in a clearing type thing.]

[Okay]

Leaping gracefully over a half-grown bush Yari trotted down a sandy human pathway, wrinkling her nose in disdain at the scent of human and garbage. Flowers dotted the edges and weeds threatened to grow over the pathway, marking that it had long since been abandoned.

Still smells like heck though, Yari thought with a large sigh, feeling like her nose was being burned off by the acrid smell.

Glancing to her left, in the direction of the thicker forest, she noticed Kiteso and Grain talking. 'Hey,' she barked out in greeting, speeding up slightly to catch up to them.

Kiteso perked her audits and turned her crane, standing at the sight of the alphess. She bowed her head low to the ground and tucked her t*censored*le, showing immediate submission. She was not one to step out of place. She lifted her crane after a moment to offer a reply. "Hello, ma'am." she said. She sat down once more, too tired to continue standing, even for the high ranked fae. She did not see any sign of blood on the fae, and wondered if she'd eaten the fish, or if her mate had. Either way did not matter to her; she was sure she was going to head back in a few hours to get more, and to show the hunters, of course.
