As soon as the alarm went off, it was stopped by a slam from Kaz's hand. Gah, do I hate mornings.. she thought as she tumbled out of bed. On her way to the restroom, she grabbed a white v-neck and some jean shorts. Might as well take advantage of the summer weather. It wouldn't hurt if I got a little darker. She pondered about her day a bit more as she washed her face. After realizing that she was supposed to meet up with the boy today, it wouldn't hurt if I put in a little more effort.. hmm. Kaz quickly tied up her jet black hair into a high ponytail and walked out of the restroom ready to go. Just need to grab some socks and my book bag and I'm-- her thoughts paused as she saw her father drooling on the kitchen table with about ten beers around him. When will he ever learn? Shaking her head, she went into her room and got her things. After putting on her gray converses, she took another quick glance at him, than at the clock, which read 7 AM, and took off. 

 

 

"Early as always, Kaz!" her boss said when he saw her running up towards him. 

 

"Trust me, if I could get here any earlier, I would." Kaz huffed as she went to go put on her green apron. 

 

"The others will be here soon, the shops about to open, but I doubt anyone will come in yet, so take a breath." he said chuckling. 

 

Kaz smiled at him. As the hours went by, she was so caught up in getting orders, she didn't notice the time.

 

"Hey! I'm here!" a vaguely familiar voice called out. 

 

Oh it can't be.. 

 

Kaz looked in the direction of his voice and caught a glimpse of the boy's bright smile. She then glanced at the clock and saw that he was 30 minutes earlier than planned. 

 

Why're you such a good person? You weren't supposed to come so early.. if anything, the later the better. Oh well, I guess it's too late to hide anything now. 

 

Kaz rushed to take the orders and dashed into the kitchen. 

 

"Boss, can I take an early lunch break today? I'll make it up tomorrow, promise." Kaz asked with a genuine smile.

 

"Sure, why not, after all, you're one of my best employees." he replied with a huge grin.

 

"Thanks so much!" she said with all the enthusiasm she could muster up.

 

As Kaz pushed open a door with a sign saying "STAFF ONLY", she took off her green apron, and rushed out to greet him. Surprisingly enough, she felt a little excited.

 

"Hey! Sorry for the wait."
