Her eyes were still locked on the shadow that leaned up against a bordering building to the alley. It was still for a long while, and Annette thought she was just imagining things until the shadow leaped into the darkened mystery. The fight. She thought, not really interested in pain most people found entertaining and humorous. But for some reason she found herself walking quickly across the street and up a block to the alley way she had been watching like a hawk for the past - what?

It had just occurred to Annette that she had no idea what time it was. She had no idea how long she had been asleep, and sleep walking for that matter. She didn't even know how long she had been watching, so intently at this place.

The worry of time was a distant thought when she approached the alley. It wasn't a sight for sore eyes, she would have said at a time like this. The fight seemed under control and the history of the fight told its story through the scene that was left. The scene said it all. There was a fight, of course. A injured kid, a kid who started it, a guy who broke it up and a girl who had just happened to pass by and help the helpless.

It appeared to be a normal fight, but that wasn't what Annette saw. She noticed the little things, such as the girl with a bow. She thought it quite peculiar that both she and the girl had weapons. The guy, on the other hand, who had stopped the fight was peculiar as well. His age difference between everyone was greater by a few years and he didn't look like the type to stop a stupid kid fight. Maybe he felt the instinct too! She thought, shaking her head as soon as she thought them. That was ridiculous, and cleared her mind.

Annette also thought that the two fighting had been a strange pair. One looked like a trouble maker or a bad boy. The one that was injured that is. He had a scar on his face, or it looked like a scar through all the blood. However that wasn't what gave him away as a trouble maker, it was the captivating design that showed up on his jacket and the symbol on his hat. She pegged him as a guy who thinks he is all that and what not. The other guy on the other hand looked like he would be one of the "pretty boys" or one of the popular kids at school. Not that she would know anything about school, she just assumed that's what he was. She didn't know why these two would get in a fight, especially in an alley.

But she couldn't judge a book by its cover. She would have to read to understand. She took a step into the alley committing herself to the darkness.

Before I'm even able to reach into my pockets to grab my gloves, I'm on the ground. Punches being thrown at me. Thankfully I was able to get my arms up to block his blows after a few throws. Dang, this guy is fast. ...Man, I'm really out of my element without my gloves. A moment passed and I realize I'm no longer being punched. I'm bit confused when someone other then the idiot talks. I look up to see someone pinning him to the wall. I quickly get up and swipe the blood away from my now split and bleeding lip. My nose hurt like heck, but I was fairly certain it wasn't broken. I did know I was gonna have a fat lip, a black eye and be colored the most pretty purples later.

"Uh, yeah. Thanks." I pause and look at the idiot and say, "You're fast, that much I can say." Not in the mood to throw in a taunt in anymore, I stop. My gaze shifts to the newcomer and I say, "So why did you decide to help me out? Just saying, 'cause not that many people are so friendly these days."

((Sorry for late reply. Cort, could you remind me when to post? It keep slipping my mind.))

Leanna bent down and looked at the boy who had been beaten up. He looked fine, but she couldn't be too sure. She still had a strong suspicion that one of his scrapes could get infected, it was extremely likely, and it never did any good to overlook something when dealing with injuries. She bent over and looked at him, worry lighting up in her eyes.

Are you okay? One of those scratches looks like it could get badly infected. I have some medicinal supplies in my backpack, i could treat it for you if you'd like. It isn't very good to have an infection that close to your brain, or on your face in fact. I won't get offended if you don't want me to since you barely know me, but I promise I can take care of it if you let me have a look.

She looked at him, careful to keep a respectable distance. People needed their privacy, and she wasn't about to invade his. As she studied one of his cuts carefully, she could actually see something unnatural seeping out that definitely wasn't blood. Puss most likely, and puss was never really a good sign when dealing with anything like that. Probably caused by scraping on a rock on the hard gravel. It looked quite painful. She couldn't imagine getting into a fight, and she wondered who had started it.

Zakeru watched as the boy sprang upright to his feet. Burnt orange eyes were focusing on the wounds on the younger male's face. A flicker of something shone in his eyes before he cocked his head to one side. The boy he head pinned hadn't said a word... yet. Though, he did smirk and answered; "Brats shouldn't be allowed to re-arrange a person's face."

His eyes then switched to the girl. He had noticed her arrive a little bit ago, but was unconcerned that she was going to do anything aggressive. And his thoughts were proven true when she offered to clean this injured boy's wounds. Nodding towards he, he spoke his words towards the male, "Let her fix you up a bit."

Mitt glared over at the little snake, baring his teeth in discomfort and disgust. But of course he was the one to blame for all of this, especially because he had been the first to show aggression. He was the one that already had a gang on his tail, and he was the one who brought it down to the actual suggestion of a fight. And it was doubtless in the minds of the others that there was no other way it could have gone down.

Typical.

He fumed in silence as the other was questioned. Then, glancing back a little further, he caught sight of the girl.

He looked her over with mild confusion. A girl? In the back ally where a fight just occurred? He watched as she came up and looked over the boy he had conflicted with, and listened as she spoke. As soon as she was finished, he looked immediately away from her to the ground somewhere in front and to the side of him. There was a sudden flicker of respect for her, even if it was slightly bitter. To a person like that, he wouldn't let himself glare down on, even if doing or saying nothing burned.

But when Mitt felt his restrainer look towards him, he lifted his head and fixed a true, dark glare on those orange eyes. It only took that for the simmering rage of his being accused to rise again, and this time even more fiercely. Then came back that ruthless side of him, and the pressures where he was being held weighed double on his mind.

He considered talking it out. He considered cursing and fighting his way out of the other's grasp. He very, very strongly considered spitting in his face, too. But for a long while, he just sat and did nothing. Then he stopped.

Those eyes. He felt his gut lurch slightly, then his stomach tightened with the surge of adrenaline that pulsed suddenly through his system. It was the same feeling he had felt as he walked, the same energy that pulled him to the north.

Awe, dread, curiosity, and a twinge of fear touched him, and he stared with slightly widening eyes. After that the slightly-choked words slipped without hesitation.

"Yerin ier valat?"

|[ Sure, Tiger, I know what it's like to loose track.

The words are in the ancient language of the Knowers; the address is one that is used to determine whether or not someone is of the unnatural: "Friend or foe?"

Ohh, by the way, there are no w's in the Knower's language. I'll make up a document of the ba[injection]se words and things for reference, but for now go ahead and make it up in your guy's replies. Most would know what the phrase means, it's another thing that parents usually teach. ]|

Silver eyes grew wide as she heard the voice of the guy she pegged as the popular. The language that dripped from his tongue was scarcely known, and she was privileged to know it. Her parents had taught her and her grandparents taught them, and so on. It was amazing to hear someone else speak it. She never thought she would live to see the day where her dreams might start coming true.

Annette waltzed further into the alley so that she the people could now see that there was another person to add to the commotion. She looked at the guy who had spoken with a playful ex[injection]pression. Her eyes were dull, and the emotion she presented looked like it yearned to be different. Her peach lips parted. She took a soft shuttering breath. It has been a few days since she had spoken and didn't know if her voice would share its sweetness with these strangers. "Yerin." She answered first. Then hesetant she added. "Balk Eaija." Her voice was soft and sounded young. It was a little high for her age, but it was coated with a sweet tone that came naturally when speaking her blood language.

Zakeru watched this boy as he spoke in the tongue of the Knowers. So, he was one then. It wasn't just fate that led him to cross with this boy. "Yerin," he said, setting the boy down on his feet. "Yūjin," he added in Japanese, his hand moving off the boy's throat. "Friend." His arm fell back to his side and his orange eyes soft a bit. Now that this male finally knew that he meant no true harm, he shifted his attention to the newest female as she approached, stating that she was a friend as well.

He gave her a nod of acknowledgement.

Leanna looked over to where the other boy was.

No way... They can't all have Knower's blood in them... There is no way... How could we all be drawn to the same place.

Yujin. Camatso Yujin.

She stared at the people around her. Maybe this was the day she started doing something productive with her life. Her parents had trained her for years so if anything came her way she would be prepared. She had had her bow since she was three, and she had started hard school at age six. Maybe their worrying would finally pay off, and she would finally have a place in life, instead of being stuck between her world and her parents. Maybe, just maybe, these people could lead her to a knew life, one she could be proud of.

Are you from the same lineage as me?

Her question wasn't directed at anyone in particular, she was more asking herself. She still hoped she would get an answer, this was all to much.

(( Translation: Friend. Definitely friend. ))

((I'm sorry... again. For certain reasons, I just started school. It's taking me a while to get used to it, so I had trouble getting online. I'm sure I'll get used to tit in the next week or so and there shouldn't be such a long pause between my posts. Once again, sorry. Oh and thanks Cort.))

An annoyed sigh escapes me as I listen to everyone speak in the tongue of my people, well our people. "Yerin" I said, still annoyed. I can't believe that this guy is like me! Just great.... My gaze quickly looks to the girl who'd ask to help me. A bit of unease fills me as I say, "Yeah, sure." I never got along with people who had cheery or helpful or whatever similar personalities and being near this girl kinda bothered me. However, I tried not to show it.

(( That's okay Tiger, everyone knows what school is like. ))

Leanna blushed and bent down. She grabbed some medical stuff out of her backpack and treated his wound, most likely preventing and infection. She stood up when she was finished and put her supplies back in her pack.

There, all done. It shouldn't get infected now. Am I the only one wondering how the heck we all are... Knowers.

She breathed the last word so that only the people in the ally could hear. She had always wanted to meet someone from her same line. Someone she could relate to, but now, she was wondering if she would rather not know. These people didn't exactly seem like the kind of people she would sit down and have a chat with.

|[ I know how difficult online schools can be, Tiger. It's perfectly alright <33 ]|

The pressure of the ground under his feet was more reassuring than words could say and, even though he wasn't sure the other saw it, he gave a grateful nod. The newcomer girl whom had joined them he looked over with quiet curiosity, and as others spoke the melodic reply he glanced around in hidden awe. They were all of his blood.

What were the chances of that?

He looked each one of them in the eye, growing from awe in the beginning to still-bristling distrust at the end. Then he turned his eyes back to the girl who acted as a medic.

"Even if softly, use that name with caution," he warned, "I'm told there are those that don't need words to hear," then he turned back to the male with the tell-tale eyes, "...although she has a point. This wasn't a mistake, was it?"

|[ Okay guys, cue time.

Let's get them rounded up and headed off to the East. There will be a frail, dark-skinned, elderly man by the name of 'Kasiem'. Zak should know exactly where he is. Kasiem is the guardian of the eggs, and the one that truly starts the others on the Journey. Possibly an 'old family friend' for Zak, but it's up to you.

Wee~ Creative freedom~

Though, I am running a bit low in the creative department. I'm numbing my mind by watching some Hellsing Ultimate OVA before I get started on three essays that are due tomorrow.

When those three are done, I'll starting working on a reply. I promise. ^^

It was quiet. After all the yelling that she had heard before, the quiet was a welcome respite. Though, the noise had piqued her interest and she moved in the direction she thought she heard the noise. She slid her hands inside her low-riding pants’ pockets and tilted her head forward so her red dyed hair fell in front of her seemingly blind eyes. Though, it didn’t take very long to find the place. There was a group of people at the mouth and just inside an alleyway. Any normal person would think of that spot such an odd place to meet. But, she was far from normal.

Plus, the closer she got, the more she felt like she knew them even if she hadn’t met them before in her life. Could these people be the other Knower kids that her parents had told her about? She damn well hoped so, otherwise it might get extremely awkward for them as well as her. So she stopped before she came too close, her hazy blue eyes hidden behind a veil of red and black as she watched the mouth of the alley wearily.

Zakeru glanced down at the boy he had just set back down on his feet.  “Mistake? No mistake,” he said, letting his orange eyes run over the fifteen year olds assembled. He still didn’t even know their names so it was getting kind of tiring to refer to them as boy and girl since there was two of each. “More than fate too. It’s the kind you can feel in your blood.”

Slipping his hands into his pockets, he quickly recanted what he had been told earlier. Expect five youngsters, but only four stood before him. He frowned slightly. “Wareware wa 1 ijō ga kakete iru,” he muttered, mostly to himself, in Japanese. It was the language he was most comfortable in speaking, ranking first with English second and the Language of the Knowers third.
