{ Sorry everyone. It's my fault x0x; I spent thanksgiving weekend with Jeri so I never got the chance to reply but I'll do so now x); }
Adi was a bit taken aback, as he heard what the other man had to say. They were mutants too? He couldn't believe it, yet, what else was he supposed to believe? If they weren't, the young man with white hair certainly wouldn't have been able to notice his hidden side, nor would he have known the term and who it was applied to necessarily.
As he chewed his lip, his attention returned to Burke as he was spoken to. "S-sorry," Adi mumbled, his brow raised slightly at the sound of the tone in his voice. While he wasn't exactly hungry, he'd keep the offer in mind. Adi rubbed his wrist briefly as he was let go, the skin there slightly red from being gripped so tightly not long ago.
It was a bit awkward standing in the middle of the room like he was. He wanted to sit down, to get out of the way, yet he wasn't so comfortable doing so. The two of them had just met and Adi knew nothing about Burke, nor his friend. His thin eyebrows furrowed only slightly at the white haired man's behavior. With a sigh, Adi blushed only slightly at the hand which patted the knee and he moved to sit between the two, keeping a good enough distance between them.
"I'm Engel by the way, what's your name hm?" Spoke the white haired male, and Adi cleared his throat.
"Oh, uh, I'm Adi."

Engel couldn't help but give a wide toothy grin once the smaller male sat between him and Burke. Leaning back a bit, he casually let his arm make its way around the brown headed mutant. "Adi huh? That's cute." The white headed figure spoke as he let his hazel eyes admire his body a moment before his attention was turned towards a knock on the door. "Another one?" Engel mumbled to himself as he glanced at the door, quickly noticing it was a mutant. He watched the large dark figure on the other end of the couch, quickly rise to his feet and waited to see who was behind the door.

Burke noticed his old friend begin to seemingly flirt with the new male and couldn't contain a low growl from escaping as he crumpled up the bag of recently finished chips. Hearing a knock at the door, his eyes narrowed and he stood from the couch, making his way over to the door in a few strides. Green eyes watched the door as he listened for any movement on the other side and a moment later he easily swung open the door. "What do you want?" Burke questioned the female rudely as he stood in the door way, not bothering to move until he was answered.

A large yawn erupted from the male still sitting on the couch, his arm still in place around Adi and it only took him a second to recognize the mutant female that stood in the door way. "Oh!! Hey I know you! Yer' that chick who tripped that dog back at tha' station!" Engel exclaimed excitedly as he pointed at the multicolored haired female. "And you're a mutant!" The white headed male removed his arm around Adi and quickly made his way over to the door, poking his head around Burke as he made sure she was the one he had seen.

"Yes, I uh..." She was at a loss of words. "I... I saw you come into this apartment, the one next to mine..." He said softly and looked at the ground fiddling her thumbs. Jacklin noticed three males, all mutants. One smaller then the other two. She had a thin white tank top on and black jeans. The skull tattoo on her shoulder blade was bold and noticeable. Jacklin finally looked up at them. "There are a lot of mutants in this area...." She said, her voice was silky and gentle. Who knew such a beast was I side her.

The youth chewed his lip out of habit and nodded, sighing at the comment about his name. He didn't bother to reply, as Burke had stood from his seat and walked to the door. All was quiet as the man listened to the door, and the young man jolted slightly as the door was pulled open almost violently by the large male.
Adi sat up straighter in his seat as he struggled to see whomever was at the door. Not that it was his business. This was Burke's home. His thin brows raised slightly as he spotted an almost frail-appearing young woman. His gaze tore away from her as the white haired male beside him burst out in exclamation of having recognized her.
"And you're a mutant!" Spoke Engel and Adi's gaze switched from the three which were in the surrounding building. How was he able to tell? Certainly he wasn't the only mutant who had this ability. Perhaps, Adi and Burke were one of the few who couldn't tell humans from mutants. If he had to say so, Adi preferred it that way. He didn't want his other half following him about in his mind with each mutant he came across on a certain basis.

An eerie feeling settled over the larger male as he moved away from the door, not caring what the mutant female did anymore. Turning his head towards the closed window nearby, he watched it for a moment before moving closer towards Adi still sitting on the couch. "..We should leave." Burke spoke quietly, as he stood in front of him, before glancing down at him. It was easy to see that the large male was very aware of his feelings and what his instincts were telling him to do. Something bad was coming and Burke could feel it as the hair on his neck began to stand on end.

Seeing Burke leave the door, Engel opened the door a bit wider as he invited the newly met female inside. "So what's your name? I'm Engel oh and thanks for what you did back at tha' station." The white headed male spoke as he closed the door behind her. Scratching the back of his head, he opened his mouth to speak once more but his words were cut off by a loud crash that brought his attention towards the nearby window. A silver ob
ject could be seen on the floor along with several sharp pieces of glass from the recently broken window and in a flash the room was beginning to fill with thick green smoke.
Engel and Burke locked eyes for a moment and they instantly began to think of a way out of this situation. Both of them knew exactly where this was going, since they had been in a similar situation a few years back in an old city named Augustus. Feeling the gas getting to him, he quickly shifted into his mutant form. Without another thought he turned towards Burke and his body creaked and rattled as he moved towards the window. "I'll meet you somewhere later.." His voice was scratchy and dry as the smoking mutant forced himself through the small window, his body instantly becoming a target for the S.W.A.T. team pouring out of the recently parked van below.
With a burst of smoke coming out of the pipes attached to his back, his bone paws began to carry him down the side of the apartment building. His tail leaving a large trail of smoke behind him as he made an effort to dodge several bullets aiming for him. A low guttural hiss escaped his rattling body as he charged at the humans, his large body crushing several of them.

Burke cursed under his breath as he watched the mutant fool charge at the humans. With several harsh coughs, he grabbed Adi by the wrist once again and ran towards the door. "Figure out who you're going with girly." The dark headed male told the mutant female before rushing out of the room and into the hallway, pulling the smaller male with him as he did so. Within moments they appeared outside and could hear the loud battle cries from his mutant ally on the other side of the building. Burke's spiked hair was heavily bristled with adrenaline as he turned to see another S.W.A.T. van headed towards the two of them.

Adi's light brown eyes moved from the door and he gazed up at the man who approached him. He felt a bit uneasy. Not only because of his instincts, but because of the way that Burke was acting. Despite not knowing the larger male too well, he could tell something was bothering him. The emotions were written plain as day on his face.
"What do you-" Just before he could finish his sentence, the glass of the apartment's window shattered and a grey, bulb-like ob
ject lay on the floor. Mere seconds passed before a thick smog-like substance filled the atmosphere of the room. Adi pulled his haphazardly tossed scarf over his nose and coughed, squinting his eyes in the pollution which made the once-bright orbs water up. It was confusing. All of this was happening as if it were all planned out in chronological order. As if someone had been watching their every move. Not for a second did Adi doubt this idea.
His light brown eyes widened as he watched the once white-haired young man manifest into a machine-like creature. The smoke it produced caused more pollution in the room and it was terribly hard to catch his breath, as if there was not a bit of oxygen left in the apartment. His brow quivered and he stood, watching the spicy Cheetos he had bought fall onto the carpet. At the moment, he didn't care about the food hitting someones floor. At the moment, he just wanted to get out alive, and get as far away from there as possible.
Adi coughed once more, watching Burke and Engel converse before his hand was gripped tightly. This man certainly had the reputation, as far as he knew, of feats like this. The young man allowed Burke to pull him along, not that he really had a choice and, as if he'd want to stay behind. In his sight he caught the young woman from next door ahead of them, and he listened to the muttered words of the man holding onto him. Without getting the chance to grab her hand, he was pulled down the hall and out of the building.
His chest heaved, grateful of the well-needed gusts of oxygen flowing into his lungs from being in the smog-filled apartment. Adi blinked multiple times, his eyes getting used to the clear atmosphere of being outside. This blinking ceased the moment he turned to see a speeding SWAT vehicle headed in the direction of him and Burke. Subconsciously, he stepped closer to Burke, eyes widened slightly at the hurried van nearing the exact spot where the two stood.

With green eyes nearly glowing with hatred, Burke pushed Adi back a bit as he watched the black van approach them quickly. "You should find somewhere to hide while you can." The large male spoke, not bothering to even glance back at him, his gaze was glued to the vehicle coming towards them. In a split second the van had arrived not too far in front of them and as soon as the doors opened humans began to pour out and shoot at the two figures. Wincing slightly, Burke let out a low growl as his shoulder was shot, though he ignored the pain and quickly shifted into his mutant form. Three large canine-like heads snarled and growled as he started towards the van of cowardly humans sheltering behind it. Several shots were fired at him, though his thick skin absorbed them without too much damage done. Small fiery embers flaked off from underneath a few cracks in Burke's tough skin as he bounded towards the vehicle. With a loud grunt, he rammed his large body into the side of the van, attempting to push it over to crush the human creatures that hid behind it.

On the other side of the building, Engel wasn't in such a pleasant predicament. His bony paws were caked in a la
yer of blood as he stood on several battered human carcasses that he had already dealt with. It hadn't been long before he had finished the first wave of enemies that a couple back-up vans began to arrive. The dark, polluted-stained fur on his neck and back were bristled with great agitation as he watched the humans free themselves from the shelter of their vans. It was then that he guessed now would be the best chance for him to flee from the scene and he quickly turned and began to rush down the street, away from the enemy. Shots were fired after him and he was lucky that the humans had poor enough aim that they couldn't hit him, or so he thought. Engel could feel a few sharp pains in his side as he turned the corner down another street. With a loud hiss, he winced but blocked out the pain and continued to weave his way around town, hoping to build up some distance between him and the attacking humans.

Spirit looked around and began to walk across the street to where she had seen a nother female come to an apartment door and knock. As she watched s a large and rude male awanser. As she stood their in the middle of the road, her tail dropped and she let out a small growl. She closed her eyes for a second to try to get them moist, they were dry from not blinking for a long matter of time... She shook out her fur a little and sat down, forgetting she was in the road still.. She wasn't paying atention, but a car came from the corner and it was a matter of seconds before she was hit.. She let out a loud yelp and lied their as she car passed over her and didn't stop. She lied their and yelped slightly. }Is bord and isin't in the mood...{

"Jacklin." She said. Then suddenly she too saw the shattered window. Jacklin noticed the two boys staring each other down. "Whats going-" She began, but stopped when the F.B.I appeared in sight. The white haired boy turned into his true self and attacked. She didn't know what to do. Releasing her true self was an absolute no. She couldn't control herself when she is a mutant. Jacklin suddenly felt an arm wrap around her neck and she could feel the pistol's barrel against the side of her head. Jacklin's hands gripped the man's arm, trying to free herself. "If you don't cooperate, I will kill her!" The man yelled. "Its no use. They don't care much of me." She replied. The agent pressed the pistol against her head even harder. Her eyes stared at the white haired boy. She gave him a run-now look. This was his chance to excape. He would just have to owe her, if she doesn't die.

((Spirit, you can always join Burke in attacking the S.W.A.T. teams outside of the apartment building? And Angel, I would make Engel go help your character, but he's already outside and running from the humans. Sorry about that, but if you still want to keep going with what you have, maybe Spirit's character can help yours? Just a thought.))

Adi's eyes widened slightly as he glanced up at Burke. It wasn't as if he was frozen in fear. He'd seen guns like these before. He'd seen the men in the bullet-proof vests and he'd seen them kill many. One foot moved back and he began to back up as the man before him transformed almost instantaneously. His furrowed brows quivered slightly and he ducked quickly behind the building, pressing his back against it. The bullet had hit Burke in the shoulder, and if it were any higher, it would have hit him in the forehead. Adi's breath escaped his lungs as he sighed heavily, teeth digging into his lip. His head poked around the corner and he watched as the now mutant-turned Burke ran for the van, slamming his body against it. Light brown eyes watched as it shook and tilted, a dent now in the side of the car from where the large body of Burke had rammed into it.
Eyes re-opening, Adi hadn't realized they were closed as he moved to hide back around the corner. Something clicked in his mind and he cocked an eyebrow, turning to look around the side of the building once more. There. A body lay in the street. It was unmoving, yet he could see despite the distance that the chest of the being was rising and falling. It wasn't by any means a person, but it was another mutant.
He closed his eyes tightly and held his breath a second. This was insane. He was about to run out there and get the creature out of the way of the street, and into safety. A part of him was worried about Burke, and thought of staying hidden like he was told, but the other part told him to help the mutant which lie in the street. Adi opened his eyes and nudged his head against the wall, almost throwing a fit about needing to go out there. "I really don't want to do this...," Whispered the young man, teeth gritting together as he let out a deep exhale. Without any further hesitation, the youth shot out from behind the building, running around the van which shielded the SWAT members from Burke's mutant manifestation. His brows furrowed, lungs burning as he reached the incapacitated being.
Adi leaned down beside the creature, examining them as he looked for injury. He's sure that they would be sore, but there wouldn't be any major damage. After all, they were another creature. They weren't human; only mutant. He found that this mutant looked similar to his own other side. They might have been similar, but this one appeared far more reckless. As the sound of bullets firing from a gun reached his ears, he glanced up, looking around quickly as he made sure that they were in no line of fire. Almost unwillingly, the young man changed forms, his skin tearing away from his body in what appeared as painful as could be. Bones shifted, blood was shed, and the almost paper-like appearance of his skin as it tore away was shed onto the ground, before it seemed to disappear as if it were mere ash or dust.
The now mutant-turned boy let out a guttural noise, careful not to alert any of the nearby authorities. He knew people had disappeared from the area. Not that it mattered anymore, their forms- the mutants'- were already revealed. The apartment window which let light into Burke's once-home was now releasing smoke and fire, as it seemed to have been bombed as if there were others in the living space.
Adi nudged the body with his bone-structured face, grunting and growling as if to wake her from slumber. As it did not work, he lifted her tattered body onto his back, carefully situating her as best as he could before bounding off into the nearest alley way. Even as it was a hidden space, he still had a clear view of what was unfolding before him. The young mutant lay the other onto the ground, quickly shifting into his human form as he did not much like his other side. The young man gripped tightly to the bottom hem of his sweater, feeling the crisp chill of winter air and the scent of smoke brush past him in the hidden area as he awaited the mutant to awaken, and as he waited to see if everything would play out the way he knew all of them hoped.

Spirit slowly awoken and looked around. Am I dead? Had I been hit again? She wondered to herself before spotting a strange male. She let out a loud growl as she looked at him. She thought it was another gang member, she was terrified... Had they returned for more money? No... It couldn't be.. This guy didn't even look like a gang member now... She shifted to her human form and looked at him a bit oddly. "Who are you" she asked in a shakey voice. Her whole body hurt. She raised up her fingers and saw that they were trembling. "What happened...." she said a bit to herself, she looked down at the ground.

Adi's brow furrowed in a slight worry as he heard the rumbling growl erupt from the creature which lay previously still. He watched as the mutant looked at him, and he glanced briefly over to the commotion across the street of where they were hiding.
"You were lying in the street...," He explained, glancing at the road once more before looking back to the now human-appearing girl. "You got hit by that van. I brought you here." Adi chewed his lip out of nervousness. If he kept this up, he wouldn't have any lips left. "Don't worry. We're... Kind of safe here."
The youth remembered her question as to whoever he was, and he played with the hem of his shirt. "I'm Adi, and you?"

"I-I'm Spirit..." she said faintly and sat herself up. She leaned against the wall and looked at him.. "You not gonna.. Tell... Are you?" she asked a bit in confusion. He smelt as if he was a mutant, but she was unsure, had her sent rubbed off on him? "Besides.. Why would someone save a mutant..." she said more to herself and she looked away. "They must have hit me pretty hard..." she said and looked back at him.
