Name: Annabeth Colmen

Appearance: Annabeth has silky, sleek black hair, which hangs naturally straight down to her waist. She'll often put it in a plait when she's painting, to keep it out of the way. She has deep, cobalt blue eyes, framed by thick, dark lashes. Her skin is pale, but not overly so, a very light peachy colour. She likes to wear skinny jeans and loose t-shirts, and doesn't actually own a dress. She can almost always be seen wearing her favourite red-and-black checked converts.
She isn't very tall or short, pretty much average, and stands at about five foot nine. She's slim, with a curvy figure, and isn't really built for fighting. She does, however, enjoy running, and is on the cross-country team at her school.

Personality: Annabeth is shy when you first meet her, but if you manage to get to know her, you'll find out she's got some pretty passionate beliefs, and will stand by them no matter what. This isn't to say she's headstrong; she is open to new ideas, and will listen if someone tries to make a point. She tries to be fair and kind to everyone, but when it all gets to be too much, she'll lock herself away in her room and paint her sorrows away.

Annabeth trudged down the road, pulling her coat tighter around herself. The wind was howling over the rooftops, and the rain was pouring from the heavens like it would never stop. Some weather for summer, she thought. Keeping her head down, she decided she'd risk taking a shortcut home that day, just to get there faster. Normally, she wouldn't, especially with the rumours circulating at the moment, but she was cold and soaking, and decided it wouldn't hurt, just the once.

After all, what were the chances something bad would happen? Pretty slim. Turning and walking down an alleyway with some unrecognisable sludge in puddles on the floor, she immediately regretted her decision. It would take some careful walking to keep her lucky converts clean as well as get to the other end of the alley. She was about halfway down and to the next corner when her foot planted into a puddle, and she swore loudly. She could barely see- the street lights didn't shine this far in- and now she had some gooey slimey stuff stuck to her foot? Lovely. Just bloody lovely.

Annabeth wiped her shoe as best she could off the nearest wall, and was about to continue walking when she heard a noise. It sounded like footsteps, coming from right behind her, but when she looked back, there was silence and she saw no one. She was sure she had heard something, so even though there was no one there, she called out meekly, ''H-hello?''

When she got no answer, she shook her head at her own foolishness. ''Stop being silly, Annabeth...'' She muttered to herself, before heading for the end of the alleyway. She didn't get very far before she heard a voice.

''Annabeth, eh? You smell good, y'know that?'' She whirled around to see three tall, pale men, dressed all in black, with eyes that were depthless and black as pitch. She took a step back, and glanced around to see if she could see anyone, but didn't say anything. Don't provoke them, Annabeth...

Annabeth's eyes widened as she saw a huge wolf, with it's teeth bared and it's hackles raised, approaching the men and growling. Her heart was pounding in her chest as two of the men in front of her ran back to it- if it could be called running. They were simply there one moment, and right next to the beast the next. ''Oh look, if it isn't a lost little pup. What're you doing here, puppy?'' One of them asked, and Annabeth was immediately confused. The way the man was speaking to the wolf, as if it were a human... taunting it... It was so... strange.

She didn't have long to think about that, though, for the remaining man did the same fast-blur-running thing the other two had done. Except this time, he was right next to her, and not the huge wolf. ''What's the matter, sweety? Cat got your tongue?'' He gave a small laugh then, but the look in his eyes was anything but humerous, and Annabeth was sure they were slowly turning red.

The vampire gave a piercing, shriek-like noise, before standing up and snarling at the wolf. He held his now shredded shoulder with his opposite hand, but released it and lunged for the animal. At the same time, the other vampire attacked as well. The injured one snapped his jaws shut on the animal's neck, doing his best to tear through the thick fur and flesh of the wolf, while the uninjured one scratched and clawed at the beast.

Annabeth had watched the scene with a kind of morbid fascination. When the wolf had attacked the man, she had done her best not to look, but was horrified to see no blood. An injury like that, and no blood... It wasn't possible. Even as the vampire nearest her spoke again, she was frozen in shock and terror, like a rabbit caught in a headlamps. ''Alright, sweety, I'm 'fraid I'm getting hungry now.'' He smirked, before resting his hand on her shoulder, and squeezing it tight. His sharp nails pierced both her jacket and her skin, and blood trickled down, but she was oblivious to it all. She squeezed her eyes tightly shut, and tried to block out her surroundings.
