Kevia watched Alice for a second more, scribbling down a few notes. "By the stars, it worked!" she said, smiling widely. "Can you speak now? You are mortal."

((Hm. How did alice loose her voice in the first place?))

((She died before she learned how to, and she didn't age in the Spirit Realm so she never really grew into it.))

Alice kept her mouth shut.  Even if she could talk now, she wasn't about to talk to the likes of Kevia.  Even if she technically was what she was now..  Alive.  It was strange really, when she was alive she feared death, and when she was dead she feared life.  Now she honestly didn't know what to think, but she still didn't like Kevia, and her friends still were those who were dead, and that was all that mattered.

((Dunno, perhaps more tests or things like that?  Or possibly a plan to sneak to the Spirit Ridders base to get Alice back or something, but they realize she's alive?))

(("You know, thats a great plan, if your goal is to get us all vanquished!" as Mikaela would say XD Kevia hasn't really got anything else planned for Alice. Maybe you could make her superior come and check on the experimentation?))

((xD Lolol, that fits, and good idea.))

"Kevia?  Is the experimentation over?"  An icy voice called from up the stone stairs that led into the dungeon/lab place.  Black shoes that more closely resembled combat boots squeaked as they walked down the stairs as snowy white haired man with a mustache and small beard walked down the stairs.  He pushed up his thick glasses as he noticed Alice.  "Did you do what I think you did?"  He asked, amazed.  "Remarkable Kevia!  I always knew you had it in you!"

((Ah-em, do you not know who this man is?  ;D))

"I owe it to your training, Professor Winter," Kevia said, bowing at her former mentor. "It's about time the apprentice surpassed her teacher," she said jokingly as she straightened up. "Experiment 249 is a success, though the poor wretch still can't speak. I'm not sure if she has no tongue, or if she was simply too young hen she died, and never had the mental capacity to make words."

Alice made a low hissing sound as the two Spirit Ridders babbled on about her, as if she wasn't even there.  It was degrading at best, and made her angry.  Yet she really couldn't do anything, as she was smaller then them, and chained to the wall...

Professor Winter chuckled at Kevia's comment, then glanced at the kitten like abomination.  "Well..  It has a voice box and tongue, for it can still make sounds.  It probably was because it was too young, like you said.  Since she's alive now, there is a possibility that she could be taught again."

Kevia snorted, "Not worth the effort, really. Now that we know that this handy mixture works, we can easily kill her and write her in as a success, then go and grab someone who can do real damage, and be convinced to actually lead us to their nest."

"It'd be best if we had her soul eaten so she doesn't warn the others when we kill her again.

Alice hissed and jumped up from where she was sitting, gagging when the chain around her neck pulled on it.  Shaking her head and rubbing her neck, not yet used to pain.  She stared at Kevia and Winter intently, opening her mouth and making moaning sounds that barely resembled words.  "Dooon.  Dooont dooo."  She snarled, finding making words fairly hard.

"Hmph, it seems that the threatening of her soul being eaten has created a spark of adrenaline, making her force herself to talk.."  Professor Winter said.

Kevia laughed at the kitten's effort. "Nice try, love," she said, patting her cheek and then standing again. "Maybe we should let her warn them about it. She would likely head straight to her friends, and then they would retreat to their nest, and we would be able to efficiently track her, now that she's living."

Alice's ear flicked, and she crossed her arms, hissing.  "Nooow I aaaaintt.."  She grunted, turning her nose up.  What'd they think she was, deaf?  Just because she was young didn't mean that she wasn't smart, she had learned a lot since she had died!

Kevia growled at the pathetic fiend, "Or, we could just feed her to Venus after all." She flicked her wrist nonchalantly and sipped a random glass of water. "What do you think, Professor?"

Alice shut her mouth, this time not opening it even to protest.  She sighed, realizing how much trouble her big fat mouth got her in.

Professor Winter rubbed his chin, thinking for a few seconds.  "Well, maybe we should put on a show?"  He asked, an idea forming in his head.  "We do have a fighting dome that we used to use to train Soul Eaters, but it was abandoned after we found better ways to train them.  It is still in good shape, and we could possibly release Venus and the little menace into the pit so we can have a little show before she is rid of, possibly giving her a weapon so it isn't over so fast."

"Sure, why not? Hell, we'll let her choose her own weapon if that'll make it more interesting," Kevia said, liking the idea all ready. "You go ahead and get her situated in the ring, and I'll get Venus ready."

Professor Winter nodded, and unhooked the chain from the wall to drag the creature to where he would prepare her to fight.  It was a floor above the dungeon, and wouldn't have taken as long if he hadn't had to drag Alice up all the stairs, which she forced him to do even though it hurt her now.  He led her into the weapon room, making sure to keep her close so she wouldn't try to turn on him.  "What weapon would you prefer?"  He spat, angry he had to talk to it like it was a civilized being.

Alice quickly was able to see where the bows and arrows were.  She made a meowing sound as she acted out drawing a bow, Winter seeming to understand as he got her a smaller version of one of the bows and a pack that could go on her back that was full of arrows.  "There you go, you little monster."  He muttered as he picked out a small shield, usually used to train children for her too.  "That should be enough."  He growled as he again dragged Alice to where the battle dome was located, wondering if Kevia was there already.

Kevia shut the door of the ring behing her, leaving Venus inside. The ring was like a Collusseum, a steel cage barring the top, laced with chain mail for the audience's protection. Venus climbed up to the top and waited in ambush. He remembered this game very well, and where the prey were to come out. Kevia gave the smooth signal to let Alice in.

Winter opened a small door and threw Alice in, throwing the items she needed to fight and defend herself with, the shield succeeding in hitting the back of her head.  He slammed the door shut just incase Alice somehow would push past him and run out, locking the door behind him and going to his assigned seat, which had a great view of everything.

The Spirit Ridder who was assigned to open the place where Alice was grunted as he cranked a wheel that lifted open the door, allowing Alice to walk out.  She had already put on the pack full of arrows and the shield was over one of her arms, the bow already drawn.  She narrowed her eyes as she shot her arrow at Venus before he could notice she was there, hoping she would get at least one hit before she was killed.

Venus screeched in agony as the arrow struck his tail, throwing off his balance entirely and sending him to the ground. He righted himself sluggishly, easily allowing time for multiple arrows to hit, and he took a deep breath in preparation for a breath attack.

Kevia sat on the edge of her seat, ready to attack in case Venus started to droop.

Alice smirked at her luck, taking the chance to fire a few more arrows at Venus.  Even though her life was in danger, she found this slightly fun.  Though she had the sinking feeling that this would become less fun as it went on.  She noticed the dragon seeming to ready an attack, and felt uneasy when she wasn't that sure what to do.  She lifted the shield up and put it in front of her, hoping whatever it was the shield would at least protect her a little.
