Ally allowed herself a small grin of triumph, then blew out a breath that she had been holding.  "Yeah, go ahead, boy," she assured him, hoping he'd go in.  But then what?  She did have a bag of food to feed the neighborhood strays, courtesy of a shelter program to raise money, but what about a bed?  Taking him out for exercise?

She didn't have a leash, and looking at the puppy, he didn't have a collar.  Ally could provide food and water and she supposed that the puppy could sleep in her room on a pillow and blanket pile, but she'd have to buy him more proper fittings later.  Somehow she'd also have to do that secretly.

Dylln walked in softly, his footsteps light and silent as he entered the strange new environment. She had told him yet again to go in, but there was no knowing for sure that once he entered, or even after a little while, she wouldn't get annoyed with him or think she'd done soemthing she shouldn't have, and kick him out. That risk would stay as long as she let him stay there.

His posture was submissive, stomach hanging a little lower to the ground than normal. His fur might be soaking still, but even right in front of the door it was much warmer than outside, and most definitely dry. He didn't shake himself out, much as he wanted to, in case he got the mud or dirt that was ingrained in his fur all over her floor. She probably wouldn't be happy if he did.

Ally set the bathtub to run with warm water and took some baby shampoo.  She didn't have real dog shampoo, but hopefully it'd be alright, since she couldn't really recall if it was safe or not.  But it was some type of cleaning.  Two large pillows and a few blankets thrown over them sat in Ally's room on the side of her bed that was not immediately seen from the doorway and was close to the wall.  She had set up two bowls of no im[injection]portance to her mother near the makeshift bed and filled one with water and the other with the newly recovered puppy food, which Ally found in some random pantry she didn't remember putting it in.

Taking a small towel, she went downstairs and saw the husky pup once more.  First, she rubbed off the mud paw prints a bit, then showed the puppy the towel.  "This is what I'm going to hold you in, ok?  Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you," she told the puppy, slowly moving her hands toward him, the towel still in them, as well.

Dylln hadn't moved at all by the time the girl came back down, but when she came in with a towel he stood up. He didn't make any move to try and run away, but tensed up as she brought the towel closer to him. She had said not to be afraid, but he couldn't help it. He whined unwillingly, and felt slight shame at being such a whingey pup. Trying to regain some of his dignity, he walked forward into the towel to prove his 'bravery'.

He gave a small whuffing sound to further his courage, and pressed his head up against the towel. He looked positively ridiculous, but he believed that he looked grand and regal.

Ally laughed, gently picking up the puppy the proper way.  She cuddled him close to her and went back upstairs and set him down in the bathtub partly full of water.  "You ready, boy?" she asked.  "You ready for a bath?  This might just be your first."  The pup didn't have a collar, so she knew how real that might be.  Then a thought came to Ally's mind - she can't call him 'boy' or 'puppy'.  He needed a name.

How would she ever decide on a name?  Well, she could just say a bunch and see which one the puppy reacted to, or decide one for herself and make it stick.  Hmm... what name for a little, cute, boy husky?  Perhaps, Butch?  NO.  Clover?  Nah.  Snowy?  Too common.  Maybe something to do with snow, since huskies liked snow and came from snowy places.  Snowball?  Avalanche?  Snowflake?  Snowfall?

Maybe something about how she found him.  Muddy?  Mudball?  Stray?  No, no, no...  It was all so hard to find the perfect name.

Dylln was still in her arms, forcing himself not to struggle. He unwillingly sat in the bathtub, looking at the water around his feet that was gradually getting muddier with a faint look of disgust and a very strong look of disdain. Still, she seemed excited about him having a bath, which in turn made him grow excited and eager to see what the bath would be like. He'd had baths in his human form, of course- oh, but he hadn't been in that form in so long- but never in this form.

He proceeded to lie down in the water, purely to make her job more difficult- at least, he thought it would make it more difficult- although he had to raise his head above the water to keep from drowning himself. It was an interesting sight, to be sure, but perhaps not the most normal.

Ally took the shampoo and laughed lightly at the pup's actions.  She grabbed the showerhead and rinsed the pup, trying hard to keep the water out of his eyes, along with trying to lift him up a little bit.  The water was getting brown, but it was also running down the drain as more clean water poured in, so it was pretty alright.  Ally then squirted some shampoo on her hands and rubbed it into the puppy's fur, once again making sure none of it got into the eyes.

"So, what's your name going to be, huh, boy?" she asked the puppy.  Yes, it might've been a bit strange to ask, but maybe he'd actually do something to make things clear to her of what he wanted to be named.  Maybe, just maybe.  It was worth a shot, or at least to Ally it was.

Dylln wasn't happy in the slightest with the water being run all over him, but was surprised he hadn't been blinded yet. Even more so when the smelly stuff he recognised from his human form started being rubbed into his fur, and still managed to stay out of his eyes. Perhaps the most startling thing of all, though, was when she actually asked him what his name was. Maybe it wasn't actually asking, just voicing her thoughts, but still. It was the closest he'd gotten to communication in a long time, and he wasn't about to let this chance slip by.

He leaped out of the bathtub, sending water flying everywhere. He tried to think of one of his many nicknames that could be shown to someone rather than said, but it was difficult, and he wasn't even sure he would be able. Eventually, he remembered a nickname he had been given once, and after much searching came across the kitchen. He came across an ob[injection]ject he took to be a freezer or a fridge, hopefully the former, and stuck his nose against it.

One minute, peaceful bathing.  The next, a puppy jumping out and flicking water all over the place and running off to who knows where.  Ally ran after the puppy, following the trail of water.  "Where are you going?!" she said, practically falling over herself on the stairs.  She saw the pup pressing his nose to the freezer.

Wait, Ally had asked him his name... So was he trying to communicate?  Could he actually understand her?  "What?  What is it?" Ally asked.  "Are you showing me your name?  Ice, Icicle, Freezer, Freeze?  What?  Slick?  Ice cube?  Ice cream?  What, what, what?" she guessed hopelessly.  Honestly, she had no clue what the pup could be trying to point out to her.  For all she knew it could be the most random word.  Or maybe he was trying to point to the fridge, who knows?!

The pup nodded his head vigorously when she mentioned his name, but she'd already gone past it. Why couldn't she just say them slowly? It would make his task so much easier. It was the first thing she'd said, so it wasn't like it would have taken her longer. Whining, he ran up to where she had stood and nudged her leg, hoping to make her repeat the list of names more slowly.

Sitting back, he looked up to her, his eyes desperate. She was communicating with him. Very messily, and she possibly didn't even think he could understand her, but she was trying. It was more than he'd had in a long, long time, and he held onto the faint hope that she would be able to hold a conversation with him somehow. For such a long time, Dylln had had no interaction with any animals but dogs or humans who didn't understand what he said, and it was getting to be harder to cope with it.

She was bit startled when he barked so suddenly, but Ally calmed down quickly and petted the husky pup.  "I'm guessing that from now on, your name will be Ice," she said with a smile.  "Very well then, my friend!  Now how about we get back to that bath?  All we need to do is rinse and dry."

Ally started to go back up to the bathroom, wondering if Ice would understand and follow.  It was almost as if he was a human, the way he almost... communicated.

Dylln sighed, but stood up and followed the human anyway. He didn't like the sound of getting back in the bathtub, but at least it was almost over. He decided then that water and/or bathtime was something he really, really didn't like, but if it made the girl happy, he'd follow gladly. Running past her into the bathroom, he jumped back into the bath, splashing water everywhere.

Putting his paws up onto the side of the bath, he cocked his head to the side and grinned wolfishly, awaiting the girl's return.

Ally ran up after Ice and took a tiny bit of soap and and water and rubbed it into his fur.  She then rinsed him with her hand covering his eyes like a shield and soon turned off the water.  Taking three towels, she used one to clean the floor off a bit and then left it there for a stepping-down spot, and used the one of the other two to pick up Ice and rub him mostly dry.
