Pansy gave him a smile in return for his tenative one. She thought, in that moment, that he looked very much like a little boy, trying to make amends. "Yes, Harry. We can be friends. It is all I want from this. What favor do you have to ask?" The annoyingly pushy waitor came back for their orders, laying his hand on Pansy's shoulder when he walked up. Pansy shrugged him off with a disdainful roll of his shoulders and smiled at Harry again, hoping the stupid boy took the hint.

Harry watched with interest as the waiter tried desperately to touch Pansy. Was he that desperate that he had forgotten that the women in question had just walked into the cafe on the arm of another man? Even if he did not know that he was her fiance. He shook his head for the third time that day, effectively ridding himself of the small twinge of jealousy. He turned his attention back to Pansy, looking into her eyes.

He weas silent for a moment, and then he spoke. "Please promise me that when we have the children, no matter our relationship, they will never know they were not wanted." He remembered how painfully obvious it was that he was not wanted, and he'd never wish that on any child, let alone his own.

Pansy gave him a smile, but her eyes were shadowed. "Never. I honestly believe that you will be a good father. Whatever my opinions of you as a person." She gave a soft laugh to show that she was joking. "And I have always wanted children. I do not believe that it will be any issue. But I promise. No child of mine will ever be unwanted." The shadows faded from her eyes a bit. "Now, what are your thoughts on the wedding? I'm sure you would like a small one."

Harry was surprised. "I would have thought, judging by how you were in school, that you would want a grand one, with media watching from every angle. And, not to boast or anything, but you are getting married to the Boy Who Lived. You don't want publicity for this at all?" He seemed very skeptical. He realised she might have changed, but it was very hard to believe.

Pansy gave a seductive but somehow self-depreciating laugh. "I am sorry. I know I was a royal pain in school. Let's suffice it to say that I have grown out of that. I am a grown woman now, and successful as well. I don't need all attention on me." She laughed again, her eyes teasing. "That does not, however, mean that I want a private wedding. I do have some remaining standards. What are your desires? For the wedding, I mean."

"Small," he said immediately. "Well, not too small. Just as long as it's under 500 people. And I do want the Weasleys, and the Order there." He hesitated. "Who did you want to invite? And, er, how much media are we letting in?" He winced, imagining wizarding cameras in Pansy's bouquet, under tables and in the decorations.

Pansy laughed again. "I thought as much. And of course they would be there. Though I will ask you not to make puppy dog eyes at Ginny at our wedding." Once again she softened her words with a smile, hoping he had gotten over some of his temper from their school years. "I suppose we will have to ask my parents. Padma will be my maid of honor, of course. And Draco and Narcissa simply must come. Cissy would never forgive me if I didn't invite her. As for the media, I think we only need to grant one reporter access. Pavarti."

Harry blushed. "Of course not," he said, bowing his head. He really had to stop being so obvious about Ginny. "So you only want the two Malfoys, your parents and Padma? No one else?" Sounding slightly skeptical again, he knew. "As for Parvati, that's absolutely fine with me. She's a good person; she won't be printing lies." Horrifying memories about Rita Skeeter made their way into his mind, but he pushed them back. He sighed. "I'm glad you're taking this so practically. I know if I told another woman that she wasn't my first choice for a partner she'd probably take her claws out."

Pansy gave a sigh and a sly smile. "We Slytherin Pureblood daughters were taught from a young age to be very pratical. At least, the Parkinson girls were." She let out a frustrated huff as the annoying waitor returned, this time leaning over her to set her salad on the table. "We were also taught to be ladies. Which is why I have not hexed the ever loving daylight out of dear, sweet little Michael," she said when he left. Taking a bite of her salad, she sighed. "This, this is the only reason I come here," she said, waving her fork in Harry's direction. "Anyway, no, as far as my personal guests, I cannot think of any others. Though I am sure there are some polititions my parents will want to invite. When are you thinking of having the wedding? And When?"

"Well...we have to be married by the 20th of July." Harry grimaced. "Which is in a month. How quick do you think we'll be able to get preparations done?" He cursed the Ministry for their impatience. "Knowing the Ministry, they probably wanted us to have small-scale weddings with only two witnesses and a priest. At least, that's what I'm thinking given the amount of time we have to get married."

Pansy laughed outright for the first time. "Probably. Too bad I enjoy annoying the people in authority as much as possible!" Her entire face brightened with the laughter, her eyes sparkling and her generous mouth parted. "I say we plan for the 20th then. And have it somewhere grand! The wedding of the Boy Who Saved the World simply cannot go by without the proper pomp." She was still laughing as she requested their check from a young waitress. "What do you think? Oh, an I am Pansy Parkinson. I can do anything." Her smile was very self assured.

Harry smiled back, but this one was more of a gentle smile than one of mirth. “I’d always imagined getting married at Hogwarts, near the lake. Hogwarts was my first home.” He brightened considerably. “I’m sure I can get Minerva to let us. It’s the students’ summer break, anyway, so I’m sure it won’t be a problem at all. What do you think?”

Pansy placed her finger near her mouth, thinking, as the waitress came back with their checks. "Hmm... Hogwarts..." Her face brightened again. "I'd like that." Her smile was genuinely sweet. "Who would you like to perform the ceremony?" She took the check and began digging through her large purse for her wallet.

“Um…” Harry stammered, going red, “I didn’t think about that. I don’t have those types of connections. Who would you like?” He grinned sheepishly. “If there isn’t anyone specific, I’m sure we could just get a Ministry minister to do it. It’s not that hard a ceremony.”

Pansy thought for a moment. She had no real connestions that she would consider allowing to perform her wedding ceremony. She knew that Harry would want it to be someone he was close to. She laughed a little inside, she couldn't blame him for valuing family so much. She knew what he had lost, and had heard just a little of how it had affected him. Pansy was a pratical woman and she knew that making things easier for him would, in turn, make things easy for her. She ran down a list of men she knew that Harry respected in her head untill... "Arthur Weasley..." she didn't realize she had said the older man's name out loud.

Harry looked surprised to the point of astonishment. "Mr...Mr Weasley?" he spluttered. "Ron's dad?" He immediately felt stupid. Who else could it be? But that was totally unexpected. Who had ever thought that Pansy Parkinson would consider Arthur Weasley as the person to bond her with her husband? Surely not Harry. He was pretty sure those two names had never even been thought in the same thought or said in the same sentence.

Pansy looked up sharply, her eyes narrowing a little at the shock in his voice, but then she sighed and let it go. "Well, yes. Why not? He's been like a second father to you, hasn't he?" Finally locating her wallet, she stood and led the way to the register. "I don't suppose you know much of ANYTHING about me, do you, Harry?" she asked, giving him a resigned look. "I mean, all you ever knew of me was the 'Pure Blood Princess' I was in school." Her laugh was more harsh than she intended. "No wonder you think little of me."

Harry groaned a little. The day had been going so well, until he had to open his big gob.

“I’m sorry, Pansy,” he sighed. “I really am.” He tried to put all his sincerity into his eyes. “It’s just kind of hard to put away previous notions from school. That’s when people are most impressionable, you know. When they’re young. And don’t ask about what I just said. It came from Hermione.” He grinned slightly, trying to lighten the mood a bit. “I’m trying really hard to see you as someone other than you were, though, Pansy, and at the moment, I can see that you weren’t the girl who urged people to bring me to Voldemort in the Final Battle.” He grimaced.

She sighed again. "Like I said, I understand." She stepped out into the sunlight again and turned to look back at him with a sad little smile. "We all did what we had to to survive. Both the Light side and the Dark. I keep expecting you to erupt into a temper every time I tease you." Her smile was a little brighter this time. "Would... The park here is lovely this time of year. Would you like to walk for a little while, or do you need to get back to work?"
