Kira groaned as her alarm clock buzzed loudly in her ear. "Wake up! This is your first day, Don't be late!" Her mother yelled from the kitchen. Dad was still asleep, snoring loudly. He was lazy. She muttered something under her breath and smacked the alarm off the table. It shut off and she sat up, rubbing her eyes. Her hair was frizzy and matted, her ears were flat and needed to be clean. "Up late again, I see." Salim meowed from his perch on the window. "Bus will be here in an hour. Better hurry." "Salim, Shut up. Just because your an early bird dosen't mean I am." She muttered and got out of bed. She changed into her usual attire and started brushing her frizzy black hair. About 15 minutes later She flattend her ears to her head and stuffed her tail in her pants. She was always shy about revealing her cat features, although it was obvious she was a shapeshifter, for her pupils were slitted, not round. typical for a shapeshifter. She gathered up Salim and put on his fancy collar. "Do I have to wear this thing?" "Yes, Salim. What if you get lost?" He lost the fight and grumbled as she ran out the door without breakfast to catch the bus.

Akila woke up.She got dressed and went to wake up her brothers and her best friend that lives with them. "Shane, wake up. You too, Declan."She said. She went to Holy J's room. "Holly J, wake up."She said. She went downstairs to get breakfast. She ate her breakfast and walked to the bus stop with her brothers and Holly J.

Salim crawled under Kira's seat and lay down, his ears twitching as the loud engine started again. Two more kids had came on. He closed his eyes and tried to ignore them, but it was impossible. He groaned in annoyance and put his paws on his ears.

Kira noticed the new people and rolled her eyes. She started practicing making odd shapes with her hands. Her bangs fell into her eyes. She blew them out of the way and didn't noticed her tail slip out from her pants and start waving around to the soft music they played in the bus.
