Fresh meat. Aletta's lip curled, glaringly white teeth bared like she was some type of animal. Well, it wouldn't be a lie, considering that's what most members of the male (and sometimes female) community tended to call her; whether she was breaking hearts or accelerating their pace, Letta was ruthless. Anything she did, she did with cold calculation. Even if she seemed nonchalant, indifferent, nothing fell from her lips that was in any way meaningless. The seasoned boys already knew that, and although they'd learned how to play the game, she still held them in the palm of her hands. They knew it, too, knew it as surely as they knew the sun would rise every morning and disappear at night.

Her daddy wanted her to scour the training grounds today. New boys had been pulled in to the corporation. They would undergo rigorous training exercises and then those deemed to be fit for work would make the cut and then the real fun would start. Those kicked to the curb would have cash placed in their pockets to cover expenses and then have their memories tampered to forget all about what they'd learned. But today, oh, today. Aletta looked forward to this every year, more so this year because her brother had gone off to work on their branch in China and now she'd finally have a chance to go solo. Granted Valentino usually let her run the show anyway, since she would have it no other way...Still.

R&C Corps was a rather large, rather well known, and rather feared organization, though the general public had little information on what exactly it was. People tended not to care about the name stamped onto their food packages, new computers, furniture--the list goes on and on. R&C controlled a whole lot and shared a whole little. It made perfect sense that Aletta was the CEO's daughter.

The only thing that sucked was that their headquarters, so to speak, was in the mountains. Ugh, Letta hated snow. She still missed California and Vegas and Phoenix and warmth and summer and heat. She was a cold-blooded girl through and through, preferring to lounge like a lizard on a hot, sunny day. Even though Italy was and would forever be her home, she had the temperament and snark of any California girl. But nope, daddy had dragged her up into the who-knows-where mountains and told her he'd teach her how to behave properly. Right.

"Don't distract my men," Alibi said as Aletta swiped her ID card and walked into the training building. He winked at her with his too-green eyes, but she knew he was serious. She also knew that he knew there was no way to stop her from distracting his boys today. The training instructor, James, was giving his typical spiel. Aletta stood by Alibi, leaned against the wall with her arms crossed over her chest, eyes narrowed while she sucked on her lip ring. "Few of them have the Look," he said and when Letta asked which, he gave their numbers: 4, 7, 12, and 18. They all wore the same outfits: black with red stitching. Numbers were sewn onto their backs, names stripped away from them. They would get new ones if they passed. James and Alibi, Letta had never known their real names. They didn't know hers either. Or, they thought they didn't.

"I want to be in the maze," she said to him. He laughed, making a few of the boys glance their way. The room wasn't exactly small, but it was empty, like a warehouse. Just high-ceiling walls and bare, but padded, flooring. Their voices bounced around, but James continued to drone on, explaining the training process they would go through, what would happen if they didn't pass, what was expected of them, etc etc etc. Letta had heard it a million times before. "Just watch. I'll be the scariest thing they'll meet in there," she said, baring her teeth in that same strange grin.

"And they will soon learn that your bite is even worse than your bark," he said solemnly.

Aletta laughed. "Yes, because I am quite the cagna, aren't I?"

Ooc; It's okay, bruh.
And idk, think spy training thing. It's going to be in a humongous building, probably a transformed airplane hanger, that's literally a giant maze. They'll have to try to get to the end of it as fast as they can, while dodging like booby traps I guess? Get creative, really. Don't worry about doing anything wrong or w/e. xD

{Sorry about the delay.
Procrastination and other RPs got in the way.}

Riley stood in a line of other men, all gathered together in the giant building for the same purpose. They were all there to train for a large and rather powerful corporation, and he knew for a fact that not everyone would make it in. The "failures" wouldn't leave empty-handed, but Riley guessed that it would probably pay more to actually get in. And because of this, he decided at the beginning that he was going to try his best.

He didn't care much about the money involved. Hell, he didn't even want to be there, but his father wanted him to "man up" and find a job that involved actual labor, and this was the best he could do. It wasn't exactly his cup of tea and the mountains was not his preferable location, but it was worth it if it would make his father proud.

His eyes scanned over the other "trainees". Riley was a fairly well-built man, but compared to a lot of the guys here, he didn't look like much. He straightened his back, lifted his chin and squared his shoulders to appear just a little more confident than he was actually feeling.

As boring as it was, he listened intently to the man giving them instructions and waited for him to announce that they could go in the maze. Truth be told, he was actually feeling rather nervous. What if he failed on his first day? What if he... died? He'd heard that this place was pretty intense. Maybe not fatally dangerous, but it was still a possibility.

"Go." He was so wrapped up in his thoughts he hardly caught the single word that signified that they were supposed to begin the maze. He stood still for a moment, thought over a basic strategy and started off.

It wasn't nearly as easy as he expected it to be. Not only were you racing against the clock, but booby-traps had been set up as well. He was convinced that he was doing an okay job; he was moving quickly and avoiding the traps. The entire thing was extremely nerve-wracking, as you never knew when you'd make the wrong move and set off some kind of explosion. His heart pounded in his chest just thinking about it.

The maze was quite a bit larger than he had expected. It looked big on the outside, but even larger on the inside. He wondered if it was just because he was slow or if it was just because the maze was simply too big. He didn't want to lose the first activity on the first day. He didn't want to disappoint his father.

The traps proved to be rather tricky. They were hidden very well, but he still managed to spot and void them. Most of them, anyway. Over halfway through the maze, he managed to detonate a small bomb-like device (he wasn't really sure how) and although it was a rather small explosion, the impact left some of the skin on his left arm burned and charred. He cringed as the pain began to set in, but he didn't allow himself to display any weakness. No matter how much it hurt, he was determined not to give up just because he got a little burned.

He pressed his right hand over the burn and continued on his way.

Slim white jumpsuit with lace stitching, a custom design with Aletta's family's crest embroidered on the back where a number usually was. She tugged her dyed hair out from under the suit and rapped on the outer wall of the maze. Her gloved hands contained little sensors, keys so to speak, that upon touching the wall, made it shudder and shift aside so that she could enter the maze. If she flexed her palm and a few of her fingers, a holographic map would display. Flickering white lights moved at different paces around the mini-map. One of them had stopped altogether. Aletta hoped he hadn't died.

Red x's gave way to booby traps and Letta made sure to steer clear of those as she walked around. Whenever she came to a dead end, she simply knocked her knuckles against the wall and sashayed right on through, the seal closing behind her. She hummed to herself as she walked, taking her time to watch the little dots flare across the screen. "Hmm, which one?" she murmured to herself. Her eyes were stuck on one that was running straight toward one of her red x's. She watched with curiosity as the x blinked and the white light sailed past. "Huh."

And he was heading right her way. Perfect.

Aletta waited until he'd rounded a corner before she rap-tapped her knuckles against another wall and walked into the next hallway. She then turned, hands on her hips, sly smile lopsided on her angular cheeks. He was clutching his arm; sweat creased his brow and his chest heaved from the laborious running. But he was handsome. Very handsome, even in his sweaty jumpsuit and unattractive shoes.

"You're close to the finish," she said and stretched her arm out to touch the wall, body nearly horizontal as she blocked his path. "Make me like you and I'll let you pass," she said with a grin.

{unattractive shoes
Why do I find that so funny omg I've been laughing for the past five minutes.}

Riley was rather surprised to be stopped in his path by some girl he vaguely recognized. Her face - which, was notably beautiful, by the way - was familiar, but what from? It took him a moment to realize that she had been the standing outside of the line of men, the one who he had glanced at when she burst out laughing. The only thing that didn't quite make sense to him: why was she participating the maze? Wasn't she like the CEO's daughter?

He was prepared to just pass her when she spoke. "Make me like you and I'll let you pass." What on Earth was that supposed to mean? He was unfamiliar with females and their antics; how was he supposed to "make her like him"?

He could tell that she was serious about not letting him pass, which annoyed him greatly. His job - the job that he still had yet to actually start- was at stake here, but yet, she stood in his way like they had ran into each other in public and decided to stick around and chat.

"Listen, lady." He removed his right hand from his burn wound and pressed it against his forehead and tilted his head back slightly, sighing softly as he did so. "As much as I'd like to talk, I really can't. My job is kind of at stake here, so if you could just kind of..." He motioned towards the left, out of his path. "Move, that would be great." It wasn't super convincing, but he was too tired to come up with anything better.

Ooc; Letta's inner thoughts can be hilarious. |D
My all-time favorite of hers is when she's looking for someone and she makes all these observations:
Fat guy sitting in too-tight track clothes wearing his sweat from a leisurely walk? No. Plastic Barbie chatting away into a ridiculously shiny, bedazzled phone that could and would probably end up causing a traffic accident? Nope. Any members of the Chinese family unpacking their little picnic set which probably contained Fido and Fluffy for dinner? Nada. I hate my life I hate my life I hate my life, ooh, he’s cute.
lol

Bic;

His ex
pression crinkled into confusion. His confused look was not attractive. Brows creased with his lips thinned out did not suit him at all. Resignation made his muscles relax; he looked less constipated then. "Lady?" Letta repeated, raising a brow. The last time she'd been called a lady was when her mother had called her 'young lady' back when Letta was two and her mother was still alive. Now he'd just pissed her off, half because of his calling her lady and half because he wasn't playing her game. She had a lot of work ahead of her.

She raised her palm again, flexed to look at the map, and smiled. "Two of your comrades have found other ways out. Don't bother turning around and trying to find their paths either. It'll take too long." She glanced down at a few of the other dots running around. "You have a few minutes to spare before your senseless friends manage to happen upon an exit."

She slouched against the wall then, keeping her legs stretched out so the toes of her designer heels touched the opposite wall. If he made a move to jump over her legs, she'd simply stand erect and stretch her arms out. "Mmm," she started lazily and sucked her lip ring into her mouth. It popped back out a few moments later, lower lip an abused red. Her smile was challenging. "Come on, you can do better than that. Think of this as a final test. Tell you what. You answer just one question honestly and I'll let you by."

She combed her fingers through her hair, breathed out softly. "Does a small part of you like that I'm bothering you? Do I make you uncomfortable? Because if I do, you pass." She winked and then added, "remember, answer honestly."

{omg lol. x3
Also, if you get bored or find me obnoxious please tell me because I don't want to be a bother.}

She knew that he was screwed if she continued to stand there, and that was what bothered him the most. Even though the girl obviously knew that the job meant a lot to him, she still had the nerve to block his path anyway? He wouldn't have actually minded talking with her if she wasn't going to cost him his job.

She made it very obvious that he was behind, and she made it very obvious that she didn't care. She didn't seem to have any intent on moving any time soon, and he assumed that if he tried to move she'd just find another way to block him. There was obviously a catch. She sure was taking her sweet time actually telling him the catch, though. He just stood in the middle of the pathway, anxiously shifting from foot to foot while he waited.

"You answer just one question honestly and I'll let you by." He raised his eyebrows at this, immediately beginning to wonder what the question was. He assumed that it was going to be some stupid question that had nothing to do with anything, like if he thought she was "cute" or whatever.

His guess wasn't that far off. Did she make him uncomfortable? "Uncomfortable" wasn't really the word for it... very annoyed was more like it. He knew what she wanted to hear and which answer would allow him passage; but if he was telling the truth, no, not really.

"If I liked being interrupted in the middle of something important..." he trailed off and ran his fingers through his hair. "Then yeah, I guess so." It probably wasn't the answer she was looking for, but it was honest.

Oh, come on, it wasn't even that hard. She just wanted to see if he had a good poker face, which, quite frankly he didn't. "Man, do I have my work cut out for me," she said and sighed loudly. She looked down at her hand, frowned and then stepped to the side. "You have about a minute and a half to run down the hallway and get out. There will be a choice: left or right. One side will lead you to victory, the other to failure." She slipped her tongue through her lip ring, tilted her head down to look up at him through her lashes.

"You have no reason to trust me, but," she started and then placed her hand on the wall. It shivered and opened up another doorway for her. "Don't go left." With that, she stepped backward, making a kissy face as the wall went back to normal.

"So will reverse psychology work on you? I tell you to bother my men and you put every fiber of your pretty little being into staying away from them?" Alibi asked, a crooked smile on his face. Aletta slipped her palm in his and laughed into his neck.

"I'm afraid that won't work, compagno."

"Damn Italians," he muttered under his breath and did his best to shake her off. "Ah, and here come the champions now," he said. They were waiting at the end of the maze. Even though there had been different exits, glowing arrows on the floor guided them to the 'finish line' so to speak.
