"Stand and die, shifter." Abi's eyes drifted open only to see a group of between ten and twelve elementalists stood in a mob in front of her. Sweeping the battlefield, I see... she observed the sacks of weapons against the trees not far away. Looters. Pushing herself onto all fours, her scythe coiled around her body as she shifted flawlessly, stood before the fire wielding brutes as a perfect, white, panther, twice the size as any natural predator.
At least three of the men took two paces back, not used to seeing shifters shift so naturally, not fancying their chances. Abi voice was deep and hoarse in her current form, though still audible. "Leave now and I will not have to leave you in the same mess my kind did your brethren." They stood their ground, give them their due, but Abi had no time for bravery, leaping through the air in one single bound, barrelling into two of them, before ripping out the inside thigh of a third. She landed precisely, before spinning on the spot and facing them, the two she had knocked to the floor nursing snapped forearms were they had landed awkwardly.
She knew her panther was not enough to take them all out, but she still felt weak in her human form. She sent a thought out, her scythe uncoiling from around her body and slinking off into the trees. "I mean it, I've taking a quarter of your troop down already, you really want to press your look more?"
"Not luck at all, missy, it'll just take one. Good. Swing." The one closest to her raised his weapon arm and took a swing towards her head, the mace in his hand arching down towards the tip of her spine. She danced out of the way like a true jungle cat, pouncing on the man and tearing his throat, as her scythe sprang from the trees and severed three more heads with one fatal swoop. Two broke away and sprinted for freedom as the scythe chased them down and put and end to that, as Abi leapt on one of the remaining three, using her front paws to take out the other two, whilst fastening her jaws around the rib cage of the unfortunate fool to fall beneath her.

Umbra awoke when he heard a deep, hoarse voice, a sound very unlike anything he'd ever heard before. He opened his eyes to see a huge white panther leaping into two men, and he froze when he saw it tearing through the flesh of another. His eyes widened in fear when, after dodging out of the way of a mace, the beast ripped the throat out of the man who had attempted to kill it. He saw what looked to be Abi's scythe, beheading three men in one go, and he ahd a feeling of dread in the pit of his stomach that the beast was actually Abigor. When the scythe started after two men who attempted to escape, Umbra scrambled to his feet and pressed his back up against the tree, trembling slightly as the creature slaughtered the remaining three men, looking away when he heard the sickening snap of bones. He was used to blood and gore due to the occupation he had at camp, but not anything like this... He'd never been on the battlefield during an actual battle, and it was terrifying, to say the least. He backed away around the thick trunk, wondering if he could run fast enough to evade both the beast and the scythe. If this really was Abi, she was much more of a monster than he had ever imagined could be possible. As he was stepping backwards- perhaps not the wisest choice, considering the terrain- he tripped over the root of a tree, and fell backwards. With terror gripping his heart, blocking out all else, he attempted to get to his feet, grazing the knuckles of one of his hands in his hurry to do so. When he did eventually stand up, he realized the ribbon of his boot was wrapped around and caught in the undergrowth, so bent down and struggled in vain to get it loose.
Well now. I should... Probably put something intelligent here. At some point. Eventually.

Abi felt weak again, shifting had always took it out of her, naturally so, but never before like this. She shifted back to her human form, rubbing sweat from her forehead, before making her way slowly to the trapped Umbra. Leaning on a tree a few feet from him, she put her head back and let out an exasperated sigh. "I know you probably think me some kind of demon... And to be honest that's probably not too far from the truth. But if you weren't asleep here when they came, I would have ran. Never, would I kill so many if it were for only my life."
She clenched a fist and shivered slightly, she had no idea what was wrong with her, but she accounted it to the loss of blood she had suffered. "I don't know why, but I feel a bond to you, one I haven't felt towards anyone that was not... Was not family, or something close." She sighed again, looking around at the carnage, her scythe returning and coiling around a tree. "Now you know this, I'm going to leave it up to you to decide." She took a knife from her belt, before bending and proceeding to cut the ribbon that had the boy trapped.
"If you still think me the stuff of your childhood nightmare, then tuck tail and run... If not, then you do whatever you like... I'm done trying." She let herself slide down the tree onto her backside, leaning her head back against the trunk and taking in the cool night air.

[[Sorry Reukins. Dx I kinda like... Well, I've been banned off the computer. -sneaking on so you don't think I've gotten myself run over by a truck or something- And like... Yeah. Long story short. Dog sat on a laptop. Fat ass broke it. Ty is blamed. Banished from the internet. 8I]] Umbra listened quietly to what Abi said, still trying to free himself. Some kind of demon? He wasn't sure what he thought her as, but it wasn't that. There was no way she was a demon, but she wasn't anywhere near being an angel. He wasn't sure why he was so determined that she wasn't a demon, after witnessing that carnage, but... Something inside him made him think she wasn't all bad. It didn't mean she wouldn't kill him, though. He was shocked when she said she felt a bond to him, and wondered what on earth that meant. She seemed... sad, a little, when she mentioned her family, and he wondered why. Perhaps it was for the same reason that she had been sad earlier, when she'd been sat near the fire with something in her hands. When she took a knife from her belt, he wondered what on earth she was planning on doing with it. Probably nothing pleasant. He flinched when she cut the ribbon, and looked at it a litle dumbstruck. Why had she freed him? It was pretty counter-productive to killing him. He stood up straight for a moment, thousands of thoughts whirling around his head, wondering what he should possibly do. If he ran, he'd likely never see her again... He didn't know why, but that couldn't happen. Moving over to where she was sat, he plonked himself down next to her and leaned back himself. ''You are something from one of my nightmares, Abi. I always woke up before they ended, though, and... I want to know how this one ends.'' With that, he turned his head to look at her, the barest of smiles at his lips.
Well now. I should... Probably put something intelligent here. At some point. Eventually.
