- Strolling down the sidewalk cigarette in hand as my mind wandered, my feet leading me mechanically as they stepped one in front of the other I took a drag then let the smoke flood from my nose as I exhaled my surroundings passing by with each tick of the clock-

Strolling down the street my cigarette burning off quickly I veered to the let and immediately braced my legs as I slid down a rather deep ravine grabbing the trees that passed to keep from tumbling over in the soft forest soil. Reaching to bottom i trotted to a walk and stared up at the trees as they bent and swayed dancing in the wind.

I kept up as best as I could, my writing turning to indefinable scribbles. The teacher spoke fast and it was hard writing, flipping pages, and listening while others tried to keep up. I even made a side note about what Luna said...somewhere...The teacher continued with the lesson and by the time class was done, I had one page left in my notebook. 'This was going to be a long year,' I thought to myself. "So, where do you go now?" I asked Luna. I had a feeling we were put in the same classes for a reason.

Luna stayed seated and closed her eyes until...BANG! The old bell had rang telling everybody it was lunch time, and all the students flooded out of the classroom and into the halls. After sitting for a few minuets, she got up and started walking outside rather then to the mes hall, "Did you bring lunch or are you going to buy lunch in the mess hall?" She asked turning her head to look back at Celestia.

Stella finally came across her dad who was talking to Mr. Gordon in a low voice, "*mumble mumble*.....Do you realize how much trouble that would cause? the fate of our town could eve-*mumble mumble*" Mr. Gordon said then went into a lower voice again, 'What are they talking about? could it be abo-' but her thoughts were cut off as the door started to squeak then open up a little, she silently but quickly ran back down the hall and upstairs, not knowing what she would find, but she didn't want to be spotted. Max had followed her up the stairs, but backed up and whimpered when she came upon a locked door, she twisted, pushed and pulled but it would not open, she heard quiet footsteps walking up the stairs and ran to the others side of the house heart beating hard. "Whats wrong with me? sneaking around someone else's house and trying to get into locked rooms, I have a problem don't I?" She scolded herself looking down at Max who was right behind her the whole time, "your a good boy, do you want to go to the kitchen? I'm getting a little hungry." She asked him, as he gave a wag of his tail and started to lead the way to the kitchen.

Luna nodded then continued walking towards the door, once they got outside she found a nice shaded spot, jumped into the tree and sat on the lowest branch staring at the people talking in the distance, she could make out some words here and there but would rather not pay too much attention to them. "So, where are we going to work on the project?" She asked looking at Celestia, they had to work on it somewhere other than the school, though the school never closes.

Stella walked into the kitchen and quietly scavenged through the cabinets for some food, Max looked rather hungry as well, she came across a small can of fruit and opened it up, as the fruity smells filled the air. Grabbing a fork, she sat down at the table and divided the can between her and Max, they both ate slowly but finished within five minuets, after, she got a trash bag, put it outside then put the fruit can in it, noticing this family didn't have a recycle. "Don't these people care about the earth?" She grumbled half upset but shook it off and decided to go for a walk, maybe now that her stomach was full, she wouldn't be as paranoid about the forest, and now Max was right by her side so she wouldn't have to worry about that. "Time to face The Forest" She grinned then ran into it seeing the wolf from her dreams run along with her on her left side, then Max on the left, it didn't bother her now though, it almost made her feel better.
((Yeah, a video game reference, DEAL WITH IT))

I took out my sandwich. "If you'd like we can work on it at my house." I said hoping that would be okay with her. "Unless you have somewhere else in mind." I took a bite from my sandwich and waited.

Luna grinned, she was happy not to go back to her depressing home, and go to some other place for once. "Yeah, thats fine, so, tell me about your family" She said turning her head to watch the people coming out of the doors that lead into the school.

After a while of sitting in the forest, Stella got up and ran back to the house, once she got to the door she turned to look back at the forest. "Sad to leave, but its getting dark anyway" She said turning back and going inside with Max, she walked up the stairs and into her room, doing her regular night routine, then laid down in bed with Max curled up next to her.

Traipsing between the trees and over the soft mossy ground I felt the moon's glow on my back and sighed with a smile as I listened to the trees creak and groan, talking to one another, whispering their secrets onto the wind. Feeling a strange zing in the pit of my stomach I looked around and then decided to go for it. Turning around I found a massive Fir and swung myself up onto the lower limb before landing and catching another until I was nearly 20 feet from the ground. Looking out at my surroundings I took in a massive breath of fresh air and with a snarl I leapt from the limb and with a twist of my body and a flicker of the moon light my human form seemed to fall away, swallowed up by the massive black furred frame consuming it. Feeling the surge of electricity as I neared the ground in slow motion it seemed my head twisted and slowly a muzzle pushed through harboring an array of elongated and extremely sharp fangs, dark black ears that held a rather creepy look at the tips made their way up My eyes staying the same colors but enlarging and rather than a pupil as I was in the midst of merging my eyes were just a red and white orb of eerie bleeding bright color. Letting out a half human scream/wolf snarl my eyes shot open my tail wrapping around my back leg the being pushed back by the wind as I fell. one by one my fingers bent and crooked eventually giving way to wolf toes and working its way up to my legs and over my ribs to my back and at last my face. With a last gush of air in my face a red streak like mark with an elongated tip appeared beneath each eye and As I finished my transformation I made it just in time t slam to the ground my massive frame holding steady as I peered around un-doing my surroundings. Feeling that zing again I growled and shook my head ignoring it but wondering in the back of my mind what in the world it was and what it could possibly want. Shaking it off I turned and made a B line for a deeper part of the forest my paws pounding the earth beneath me as I sped up my massive frame and long sturdy legs helping to stretch out my already lengthy stride. Zig zagging through the trees as the cold night air rushed into my lungs and my heart pounded I hadn't realized I had been running for nearly ten minutes non stop only speeding up rather than slowing down and as I cam to this conclusion I saw a single light shining through the only open window of a very massive house. Coming to walk I looked to the window and found myself stopped about twenty feet from the house in the shadow of the woods with only a sliver of moonlight lying over my face. Staring at the girl in the room my curiousity peaked and I couldn't help but watch her and her companion.

Stella's eyes flew open, she tossed and turned but couldn't get to sleep 'maybe its the bed?' she asked herself in her thoughts but just shook it away and sat up looking towards the window. Suddenly she felt a shock run through her body and she couldn't move, she saw a bright fire dancing in darkness, then the darkness wrapped around it making a dark red glow, suddenly she felt another shock and saw a blurry picture, it was a person, in the forest. She jolted out of the vision and shook her head violently, it now hurt and the feeling in her body was just now coming back, Max was staring at her with worried eyes, but she just calmly ran her hand through his fur and smiled like everything was alright.
Stella got up and stretched, then walked over to the window, and saw the person and wolf from her dreams standing at the ridge of the forest staring at her, she quietly but swiftly ran downstairs, grabbing her coat and running outside and into the forest, Max had stopped at the doorway and was standing watching her. She cautiously walked into the area of which she saw the visions and looked around, the moonlight hitting her red hair, and her jeans starting to soak in some of the snow, making them damp. "Last thing I need is to be wet" She grumbled still walking cautiously through the forest, entering the deeper, unexplored parts.

"I can't really say much." I looked down in reply. "I don't really talk to them much. I know they aren't my real parents but I try to convince myself that they are. They seem fine letting me read books. They don't even seem to care that i don't speak with them much. until they figure out I still have no friends." I sighed.

Watching the girl carefully, my eyes open and aware as I stared at the shadows i sniffed in her direction the strong scent of a renegade rolling off of her, ' how lovely' i thought as she neared looking like a cat desperately searching out an umbrella as the clouds rolled and twisted in forewarning of a storm. Stepping out of the shadows I stepped in front of her my frame towering over her leaving her in my shadow as the moon played off of my black fur, my front legs spread out my tail swishing in caution i looked down at her, my eyes glowing intensely.

Luna felt slight sympathy, she only knew her real dad but that was when she was very young, now she just lived in the foster home. She looked at Celestia and gave a small smile before turning back to the door, waiting for the school bell to ring saying lunch time was over.

Stella looked up in amazement at the beast, though she could see a human spirit inside. She grinned as she backed up a bit, getting her sleeve knife ready, but slowly held out her hand, feeling the cold darkness surround her. "Who are you?" She stuttered a bit but still sounded confident, 'maybe this isn't the best idea to trust an unnatural beast of which is much larger than me...' She thought to herself and she backed up a bit more, her knife placed perfectly in hand.

-Sniffing at her extended hand I smelled the cold metal in her other suddenly. Dropping down in a defensive stance my head low as I growled at her hand harboring the knife I kept my eyes locked on the weapon as I used my body language to show that I was not at all trusting as long as she held the blade in her palm.

Stella closed her eyes and clenched her teeth as she knew it wouldn't trust her as long as her weapon was at hand, she retracted the knife back into her sleeve and stepped forward with calm eyes, hoping this was not a bad idea. With a deep breath she extended her arm, holding out her hand to the beast once again.

As quick as it started the growling stopped, my lips no longer pulled up over my teeth my stance relaxed as my eyes grew curious and I stretched my neck out slowly my nose so close to her hand. Looking up at her and then back to her hand, slowly I stepped forward pushing my nose into her hand.

The bell rang and I went to my locker. I was starting to just know something was up with this. Fate maybe, I thought. There had to be some reason me and Luna were brought together like this. maybe i could ask her a little bit after school. I turned and Luna was there waiting, "So what class do you go to now? Because im starting to think the principal made our schedules the same for some reason."

((Btw, I know the timing for the class periods and such are probably off, but I don't exactly know how they work in actual schools, so don't be a hater :P ))

Luna sighed then looked at Celestia, "I have art next, then math after, and unless there is a school meeting of sorts, schools over for the day. I don't know why we have the same classes, but its no big deal, the principal is a little strange" She said turning and starting to walk to the next classroom.

Stella smiled as the creature had accepted her, and she slowly bent down, her knees almost touching the ground as she moved her other hand from her side, and gently scratched behind its ear. "My brother always used to say wild beast were not to be trusted, now I know he was wrong, where are you from?" She asked now at eye level with it.

- Jumping back a bit as her face neared mine I sniffed in her direction then slowly traipsed back and sat just a few inches from her. Seeing the curiosity swirl in her eyes just as they swirled in mine I perked my ears and rested my tail at the side of my left rear leg. Watching her for a second I made a noise that sounded similar to a purr and soft growl mixed together at her then swung my head behind me to the left. Looking back at her I stood up and very cautiously, watching her armed wrist, made my way up to her showing my true size as my shoulders raised over her head. Lowering my nose to her shoulder I sniffed softly jumping when she did then slowly creeping back up again.- 'I like this girl, she smells like the earth and animal...' -My eyes wondered in curiosity as I neared again circling behind her.-

Stella could feel the beast's breath on her neck as it circled her, but in the distance she could hear the crunch of snow, and a small whimper, she shook her head, confused at the sudden ability to hear from a distance, her teachers always said she had enough trouble listening to people right in front of her. Suddenly she remembered, "Max..." she said slowly getting up and turning around to see if he had found her scent, she didn't want a dog fight, she didn't want the creature to run away, and she especially didn't want Mr. Gordon, Kaz or her dad to know where she was. "If I left, but said I would come back in about an hour, would you stay here and wait for me?" She asked quietly with a pleading look, 'what am I doing...' she thought to herself, not knowing what she was even doing.
