(Alright. Sounds good to me.)
Shadow quietly woke up to the sound of birds the next morning and wiggled out from under her brother as carefully as she could to keep him from awakening. She then went outside to inspect the scents in the air to see if anything had changed smell-wise since the last day. She caught the scent of a strange wolf coming near and slowly backed up towards the den's entrance. Her ears were shoved forward and her tail was straight out. Teeth bared and chest out,she straightened her spine and raised her head high. She did all she could to seem scarier and more dominant before she saw the wolf emerge from the bushes. It had a light tan and white pelt and icy blue eyes that peered right at her. From the look of it the intruder was female and a young adult.

(I can play the intruder if you want) Storm felt his sister rise and uncurled himself, stretching his back and getting up from the warm moss and following his sister outside. He stopped in his tracks when he saw the intruder, and his hackles rose and slid up as he bared his small fangs and growled.

Shadow let out a fearsome growl,for a pup,and slowly approached the intruder,keeping the dominant pose. "What do you want?",she snapped at the wolf,seeming to lose that playfulness she had had only the day before. Her silver eyes stared down the much larger and older female with a hatred she had never experienced before. The small pup's mind suddenly changed into that of some sort of untamed beast at the sight of the female wolf. "Well?",barked the pup.

"I...I.. Who are you?" The strange wolf asked, seeming to lose the courage to say something better. Storm stepped closer and examined her. She was definitely young, but older then the pups by a few moons. She smelled scared, but held her ground. What an odd wolf. He thought. then, before he could help it, said, "I'm Storm and this is my sister, Shadow. Are you from the pack?"

Shadow continued to stare at the wolf with eyes gleaming with hatred towards her for no apparent reason. She could tell that,although being pretty small in comparison,she had scared the young female and was oddly proud of that.

Storm bounced around the female, making her lose the fear. "Yes, I came to investigate the smell of blood coming from over here, but it seems that it was just from this rabbit. I am called Sparrow, and you should probably come with me," the female said, and Storm looked over at Shadow. Her eyes still held the hatred that he had never seen before, and though he felt suspicious of the new wolf, he wanted to see where she would take them.

Shadow slowly relaxed as she looked over at her brother,the wave of hatred reseeding. She then searched her brother's eyes only to find curiosity and suspicion towards the wolf called Sparrow. Stretching a bit,Shadow yawned a big puppy yawn and shook herself free of left over sleep. Then the pup went up to the female and sniffed her before licking her paw in some sort of apology.

Storm noticed his sister's behavior and also went over, dipping his head but not licking her paw in apology. "Follow me" she said, and led them through the undergrowth into a circle of wolves. Big wolves. Storm looked up at them through wide green eyes, unafraid. He bared his little teeth and snarled at a black wolf who had come up to examine him. She reeked of evil, the stench overcoming his nostrils and making him shudder in disgust. "Well, well, what do we have here?" the black wolf said smoothly, grinning maliciously at the pups. "Two pups, lost and alone. What shall we do with them?"

Shadow followed the female named Sparrow through the trees and then saw a black wolf in front of her and inwardly shivered at the feeling she was getting about this wolf. It didn't set right in her stomach, this wolf's grin alone gave off her true evil. The pup snarled at the wolf with a rumble of a growl to follow, trying to keep it known that she wasn't afriad.

"Feisty, feisty," she said, baring her teeth in a wolfish smile. She turned away and loped out of the circle, calling out a deep throaty howl and summoning the pack to run home. Sparrow nudged them forwards after the receding lines of wolves, beckoning to follow, so Storm sprinted after them, as fast as his little paws could carry him.

Shadow had been pondering why she acting so mean towards the female wolf who found them and was very sure that she found her reasoning. She smelled like this black wolf, but it appeared she was much kinder in comparison. Maybe she was the one Shadow and her brother should befriend in this pack. As she was nudged by the female in question she saw that the wolves had began to run off. Sparrow seemed to go slow, just for their sake and Shadow decided that, no matter the bad feeling she got, she had to follow this pack.

Storm looked back and saw his sister following, only a few paces behind. He slowed until they ran side by side, paws reaching for the earth and leaping for the sky. They continued at this steady pace for the main part of the rest of the day, finally arriving in a clearing around sundown. More wolves came out of their dens, sniffing and watching the two new pups cower in the center.

Shadow was surprisingly not as tired as she expected herself to be when she reached the pack grounds. But she did become a bit overwhelmed when Sparrow left her and her brother in the middle of the packs territory and many different wolves began to surround them both. She huddled next to her brother and looked at all of the different strange wolves that seemed to be studying them in her eyes. It was all a bit much in the mind of the young pup;.

Nudging his sister with his nose to stand up straighter, Storm bared his teeth slightly at a middle aged female that approached them. Her fur was honey colored and longer than usual, soft and silky and smooth. "Come with me, young pups, and tell me your names. I lost a litter last spring, and would be glad to finish the training your mother wasn't able to continue. I am Maple, daughter of Flash and Viper." With those m=names Storm leapt back in shock, but Maple's soft voice was so different than Viper's had been that he nodded and followed her, along with Shadow, out of the ring of wolves and into the forest.

Shadow straightened her posture and sucked down the whine building in her throat at the nudge. At the sight of the female she tilted her head at the strange look of her coat and kind and gentle voice. She was to be their mother's replacement? But she seemed so different from their mother, yet so much alike. Half willingly the dark colored pup followed the female and her brother back into the forest.

The pups followed Maple through the forest, finally stopping at a sunlit glade dappled with shade, a large boulder towards the other end of the meadow, birches surrounding the clearing. The den was dug underneath the boulder, and the young birches seemed to bend joyfully under the weight of the sky. Storm couldn't help but lift his nose and breathe in the scent of the forest. Maple, noticing this, laughed, "Isn't it wonderful?" Storm nodded shyly, following their adoptive mother into the den after checking to see how Shadow felt.

Shadow looked around, clearly amazed by the clearing and breathed in the scent of the forest less obviously than her brother. She glanced briefly at her brother and then noticed that the honey colored female had began to walk away again. Slowly, the little pup walked towards the den that the female called home.
She had made her way into the den a few moments after her brother and sat down near the entrance.

"So, how much has your mother taught you?" Maple asked, settling down on the floor. Storm glanced at his sister. "Umm.. She taught us how to hunt little things. And we watched her hunt deer a lot. We know how to dig. And how to howl." Storm shifted self-consciously from paw to paw, and looked uncertainly at Shadow.

At the word howl Shadow briskly nodded her head. "Mommy thought that howling was the most important skill any wolf could have. She trained us very well in that skill. I can tell by how beautifully my brother howled after...", the pup trailed off and looked down at her paws.
