Aj glared angrily at the man, her lips pursed together and her eyes narrowed. After a few long minutes of silence, she finally said, "Why?" She longed to be back in her bed, with her feather pillows and plush duvet. She longed for at least a pair of sweatpants to protect her legs fro mthe cold of the night, and was glad she had fallen asleep in her sweatshirt. (AHHHHHHHH im soooooooo excited :) I have the best boyfriend in the world :) he is driving alllllll the way to town then alllllll the way back(about a 15 minute drive there and back) JUST to bring me a shamrock shake :3)) |

Damien sighed as she sat. Oh how he longed so much to just be able to sleep. He hasn't slept since he was a small child, and even then he didn't get much of it. Though he knew if he fell asleep, this girl would make a run for it. Damien didn't feel like chasing her around let alone even doing this job, but it was this or death. He then looked over to her, thinking about the question she had asked him a while ago. "I was ordered to." He replied simply.

Damien sighed. "Trust me, I don't want to be here just as much as you don't." He looked over to her with his bright red eyes. They almost glowed in the moonlight. "I don't have a choice." he said with a hint of sorrow. He looked up at the sky. "I honestly don't know why." ((Its ok mine is too XD))

She narrowed her eyes as she looked into his, "Do you wear contacts?" She asked abruptly, noticing the blood-red color of his gaze. It caused the hair on the back of her neck to stand up and goose-bumps to rise on her arms. She shivered lightly, though not from the cold. He made her on edge, and she didn't even know his name. A thousand questions raced through her mind. Why me? Why is this even happening? Who is this guy? What do they want? What did he mean 'didn't have a choice?'

Once again Damien sighed. "No these aren't contacts. I'm a kinda a vampire." He rolled his eyes, knowing she wouldn't believe him. "And you could say that i'm protecting you in a way. Your just lucky I got to you first. Otherwise you'd be a bloody mess right now. Literally." He said, knowing many monsters were sent after her. By now those monsters would be furious at the absence of her and will be hunting them down soon.

Aj rolled her eyes, "Right. And I'm a mermaid from the magical city of Atlantis." she snorted. As far as she was concerned, this guy was just a loon who kidnapped an innocent rich girl, and the police would be looking for her soon. She just hoped they got there before something really wierd happened, "I know Kung-foo you know." she warned, "Just in case you think about getting any ideas."

Damien growled. "Fine you want proof?!" he pulled down his collar down and showed his jagged teeth. "Is this enough proof or what?! What else? you want me to suck your blood or something?!" He hissed.Hiss hand slowly slid from his collar to his side, but he left his mouth showing. "I hate humans..." He looked to the ground. He hasn't showed anyone his mouth in years. He could kill her easily right now, so what was holding him back? The king never said he wanted her alive. Yet something stoped him, something unknown to him. Something he's never felt.

"Proof that you're insane? Yeah I got that part already!" Aj snapped. How hard would it be to file your teeth? She thought to herself. But then again, why did she get a gut instinct to run? That she was prey? That she was in danger being around him? She looked away from him and back toward the direction of home. After a few moments of silence, she decided to speak again, "My name is Andrea by the way, but my friends call me Aj."

"If you must know. My name's Damien." He said. Suddenly Damien's body stiffened. The presence of a monster was near. He bolted up, yanking AJ with him. "We have to go. Now." He began to walk to his horse when his keen vision spotted someone in the darkness. It was a Warewolf. "Damien. Its been a while." It snarled, giving an impulsive smile. "Now be a good little boy and hand the girl over." It said. "No." Damien replied. The Warewolf then extended its claws and leaped towards Damien, leaving three scratches on Damien's cheek. The cuts oozed a black substance, his blood. The wolf man punched Damien in the stomach, crushing his ribs. As Damien fell to the ground, the monster approached AJ. Before this could happen Damien tackled the wolf man and crushed his scull with his fist. He looked up to AJ, breathing deeply while his broken ribs strains against his lungs. He slowly attempted to stand up as he clenched his side. He hadn't fought like that in a while. He wasn't used to the pain yet.

Damien bit his lip. "W-we should g-go now..." He said, trying to endure the pain. Vampires didn't die easily, but that didn't mean they could feel the pain. He felt his blood flow down his neck, but since his ribs hurt so bad, he didn't even feel the pain of his three cuts. His red eyes gave away that he was in pain. The look on his face made him look like he was about to pass out. He kept looking at AJ. "C-can we p-please go n-now..." He forced out. He could honestly barely breath.

Aj raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure you're even okay to travel?" she asked. She didnt like Damien for obvious reasons, but she didnt have to. It was basic human nature to want to help him, and she felt bad for his injuries. And he HAD protected her from whatever it was that had attacked them, "Can I help you first?"

Damien sighed in relief. "I thought you'd never ask." He started to chuckle, but coughed in the process. As he waited for AJ to come help him, he put his collar back so that it once again covered his mouth. He had always been self conscious about it.

Aj sighed, "How can I think of it any other way?" She asked, tentatively touching his ribs and feeling for breaks, "I was taken from my bed in the middle of the night, by someone I did not know, against my will." She winced, "you might need a day at least to rest, there's at least two broken ribs, and there's really nothing that can be done for them, other than moving as little as possible."
