With a sigh he nodded, pressing another kiss into her hair. "It is indeed. But I shall try to keep my first promise, though it is in that you should be patient with me. My mother raised me to treat ladies as they were meant to be treated, like the precious, wonderful beings they are. And that is how I shall treat you. And I will always strive for patience, as you request." His clutching grip shifted into a hug, lids closing the slightest.

Uzume leaned in against him again, relaxing fully for the first time. Enjoying the feeling of his arms around her, she almost didn't hear the phone ring. When the sound of the ringer tore through the room, she jumped. "I'm sorry," she said, pressing a kiss to her lips. "Be right back. Make yourself comfortable," she indicated the bed. Answering the phone, she frowned when she saw the caller ID and her frown deepened as she listened to the ranting on the other end. When, after a few moments, she was able to turn off the phone, her mood was decidedly more somber. "I'm sorry."

When Uzume moved away from him Hongki sighed, feeling as if some kind of weight had lifted from his chest, allowing him to breath freely at last. He leaned against the nearest wall, turning to where Uzume had gone to answer the phone. Even from this distance he heard an angry voice, and some part of him stirred, longing to jump in and be the knight in shining armour. Managing to refrain from doing so he waited for her return, concern in his eyes. "Please, do not apologize to me. Who was it who put out your happiness so quickly? Who has crushed you so swiftly?"

"Oh, it's nothing..." Uzume said, moving to the couch and sinking down patting the seat beside her. "Just my father. Please come sit with me?" She looked at him with huge pleading eyes. She was afraid to talk to him, things were so new. It was just not time for him to learn all of her secrets. She changed the subject. "Tell me what you are thinking about for our duet?"

Nodding patiently he smiled, taking the seat. As he did Hongki put his arm over her shoulder, the blush from seeing her look the way she just head. He understood Uzume's need to keep some things secret, though it stabbed at his heart. Shrugging off the emotion he shrugged, thoughtful. "I don't really know. The song we started today was beautiful. You have an incredible talent and I believe that so long as it is that leading us, it was will be hard to go wrong."

Uzume leaned into his side, enjoying his warmth. She wondered what he would think if he ever discovered what her father was truly like. Sighing, she rested her head on his shoulder. "The song was beautiful. Your vocals matched so perfectly. I think I'd like to add a little more rock flair to it."

At her openness he sighed, releasing some of the tension that had already begun to knot his lungs. Leaning his head on hers, he chuckled. "Thank you, but rest assured that my voice is nothing without something of beauty to wrap itself around. And since my quality depends entirely on you, I agree that there should be some rock flair. As long as I get to rap. Maybe it is during that small part that, in the video, you will be able to display how marvelous of a dancer you are." Hongki leaned forward a little, smiling at Uzume jokingly. "For under my teaching you shall be as graceful as a swan."

"Humph.." Uzume huffed. "Graceful I am not." The cd she had put in earlier was still playing and now circled back around to one of her favorite songs. "This is one of my favorites," she told him, singing softly with the music. "Wake me up inside... wake me up inside... It's called 'Bring Me to Life.' Do you know it?"

Looking at her with mock fury Hongki made a face, then burst into soft laughter. "Of course I know this song. Tourniquet is my favorite, but this is a very good song, and obviously very meaningful. Also, the melody is beautiful." Hongki hummed along for a bit, his deeper voice trying its best to flow into the music, reverberating through his chest. "You have wonderful taste in music, as in all things."

Uzume flinched back slightly at the look of fury on his face, holding herself tightly untill he relaxed. Even then, she didn't completely relax. She didn't handle anger well. Not after her past. Praying that her reaction had not been noticed, she smiled at Hongki's laughter, waiting untill the duet before joining in. His deeper voice on the male vocals was a perfect counterpoint to her crystal soprano in the female lead. "Thank you," she replied as the song ended. "Perhaps something in this vein, for our duet?"

When Uzume flinched, Hongki cringed internally. Shemust have some very deep scars to have such an automatic reaction. Vowing to not make her do that again, he nodded at her question, having thoroughly enjoyed how well their voices meshed together. "Indeed. It's very quietly powerful, and suits your voice well. Good sopranos such as yourself are very rare. Not many women have such a beautiful range. Perfect."

She gave him a brilliant smile before cuddling in for a moment and yawning. The cd stopped and changed, switching to a soft jazz mix. Uzume hummed with the music, letting herself float on it. It had been a long day. Hongki was warm and comfortable. Sighing, she turned, allowing her back to rest against his side and her head on his chest. "Thank you..." her voice was sleepy soft. "What are you thinking about?"

The soft music, the easy, relaxed position... Hongki let his arm drape easily over Uzume, smiling with light contentment. This was wonderful. So laid-back and familiar. The way they fit together made him feel as if they had always been together. At thesoftly uttered question, Hongki made a point to be completely honest. "I was just thinking that here with you, I feel like we've always been together. It feels very right and peaceful to me. It might sound silly..."

Uzume tilted her head back to look up at him, giving him a soft smile. It did feel that way. She felt as though she could rest here with him, and be a peace. "I don't think it's silly. I feel the same way. Do you mind?"

Stunned, Hongki shook his head. His ex
pression warmed even further, and he snuggled against Uzume happily. "Of course not! It's wonderful. In fact, at this moment I feel like everything is wonderful." He kissed her head, everything in his vision taking on a warm golden glow. It seemed to him then that the world was a wonderfu, amazing place.
