Pansy shot George a deathly glare that promised revenge later on for his mirth, but she was too hungry to do anything about it at the moment. She grabbed a plate hurriedly and began to shove the food down in a very unladylike manner. Draco watched with slight amusement and disgust.

"Honestly, Pansy," he muttered, "what happened to keeping the waistlines trim?"

Pansy stopped, blushed and looked down. "Sorry, Draco." And then she began to eat, a tiny bite at a time.

Draco made a noise of approval. "Good girl." He took his own plate and began taking dainty nibbles out of it. "Are you two going to eat? Because if you aren't..." He took his wand out and pointed it at the food. "I'll just put it on fire. I really feel like putting something on fire right now, and I don't think you'd appreciate burnt hair, although it's a big step up from that mop of stringy, red things." He smirked, feeling a sort of euphoria at the childish prank.

Fred frowned at the two Slytherins as he watched them eat. Surely they were hungrier than that, weren't they? "You two should eat more," he said, then grimaced. He sounded like--

"You sound like Mum, Fred," George said, voicing Fred's thought. Fred made a sound of agreement, and George grinned. Good. The arguing was over, then. "Actually, Malfoy," he said in response to the blonde's drawn wand, "the plates will refill themselves when they're empty. Just like the ones in the Great Hall --they're connected to the kitchens, you know? So feel free to burn the food. It'll just come back." Then, as an afterthought, he added, "And our hair is not stringy, git."

Fred nodded, drawing a hand through his hair so it stuck out wildly, looking as though he'd just gotten out of bed. "Too right, George. Its fluffy."

"And at least our hair color's natural, Mr. Bleach. Surprised your hair hasn't fallen out yet, with all those chemicals and gels you use."

"Bet his hair's stringier than ours, George. He's probably jealous."

"It is not bleached!" Draco screeched, indignant. "This is my natural colour. It's just rarely seen, and so coveted that other people have to bleach their hair to get it. It's just another testiment to how good the Malfoys are," he added smugly, "because this is the Malfoy hair colour. Anyway, you're the one whose jealous. My hair is soft and fine, and it's one of my most prized features. The girls love it. That's probably why you two don't have girlfriends. Your hair is probably worse than Snape's."

Fred and George couldn't hold themselves in. They bust out in uproarious laughter, because dear Merlin, Malfoy's voice had to have cracked for it to go up that high. "M-malfoy, please--" George gasped.

"Make that noise again!" Fred finished, then doubled over again. He shook his head, tears forming in the corner of his eyes as he said, "I d-don't believe you, Malfoy."

"There's no way that colour is natural," George agreed.

"And I doubt your hair is anything but coarse and....well, definitely not soft," Fred concluded, nodding.

Draco looked even more affronted, and he looked confused as to why they were laughing. "I have someone to testify. Pansy, come here," he ordered, and the girl obediently got up. "Feel my hair."

Pansy made a delighted sound and began running her fingers through Draco's hair, making odd sighs and exaggerated sounds about how nice it felt. After a few minutes of petting which Draco enjoyed immensely, she walked away, smirking and looking satisfied.

"See?" Draco said pointedly. "It's soft."

George snorted. "Honestly, Malfoy," he said, feinging dissapointment. "Surely you aren't that thick-headed."

"You don't really expect us to take Parkinson's word, do you?" Fred asked, sounding shocked and appalled.

"She's been fawning over you for years!"

"She'd say and do anything to make you happy, we're sure."

"You'll have to find better proof than that."

"Of course, we understand if you can't--"

"Wouldn't want someone to feel your hair who isn't in love with you--"

"Because they might tell you just how not-soft it really is," Fred finished, crossing his arms in satisfaction.

Draco knew they were baiting him, but he really didn't care. He was enraged at their insinuations. Surely he spent more time tending to his hair in one week than they had theirs in their lives?

"Fine," he said stubbornly. "You feel it. Come on, or are the lions too scared taht they're going to be proven wrong by the big bad snake?" He crossed his arms and glared at them pointedly.

Pansy looked shocked. "Drakie! You're going to let those rodents touch you? But I wasn't even allowed to until today!

"Sut it, Pansy," Draco said without looking at her. He was still looking expectantly at the Weasley twins.

George looked at Fred expectantly. Fred looked at his twin right back, but the ex
pression on his face was one of surprise. "Well," George said, gesturing for his brother to move, "go on, then, Fred. Let's see just what his oh-so-perfect hair really feels like."

Fred swallowed, which George found somewhat odd, but he stepped forward all the same. He carefully reached his hand out, then ran his fingers gentle through Malfoy's hair. He made an involentary noise in the back of his throat, one he would never admit to making, that was somewhere between a squeak and a pleased moan. Merlin, Malfoy's hair was soft. So soft. Softer than the wings were, even. No wonder the git was flocked by women despite his horrid personality.

Fred fought against the blush he felt heating his face and won, but only just. The battle against his hand, however, was lost, and he couldn't seem to pull away. His hand carded through Malfoy's locks again of its own accord, then once more, tugging. And scratching the other boy's scalp lightly when he reached the back. And then he realised that he was petting Draco Malfoy. And he hadn't even been punched in the jaw yet. Still, he felt the need to apologise, and reluctantly but quickly moved his hand away. "I--" he cut off, throat dry. He cleared it, then tried again. "Y-yeah. Alright, its --its really soft."

He avoided loking at any of the people in the room; his brother was watching him, staring at him with an odd ex
pression, and he didn't even want to think about Malfoy's or Pansy's reactions. "Is it really, Fred? D'you like it better than the wings, even?" George was grinning as he said it, but inside he was angry. What was Fred thinking, touching Malfoy like --like he wanted to?

Fred did flush red, then, and said quickly, "W-why are we standing here arguing about how s-soft each other's hair is? Don't we have work to do?"

((Oh gosh, sexeh. :D))

Draco had rather liked the feeling of Fred's fingers through is hair. He liked the feeling of fingers in his hair in general, but Fred's fingers were rough on his scalp and felt very nice. On the outside, he was displaying no emotion other than slight repulsion, but on the inside, he was squealing with delight at the feeling. So pleased was he that he didn't notice when Fred had moved away until he noticed Pansy looking at him strangely.

He heard Fred's question, and sneered. "I don't have work to do. You two are the ones who got me in this miss, so you can get me out of it. I'll just sit here with Pansy." To prove his point, he flopped gracefully onto his bed and then Accioed Pansy to him. The girl made a squeal before landing in his lap. He smirked, satisfied.

((LOL you have no idea how hard I laughed writing that. And now I'm laughing again. xD))

Fred scowled as Malfoy accioed --actually accioed, for Merlin's sake. Was that even possible?-- Pansy into his lap. His scowl immediately deepened as he realised he was scowling because of the couple. What was wrong with him today? "You stupid git," he snarled, suddenly furious. George backed up and stared at him, surprised. "You and your girlfriend are in this with us, even if you don't want to be. We need you working with us if you ever want us to fix it. Now just --just stop touching each other! You!" he snapped, pointing at Pansy. "Get off of him, so we can at least help you hide that bloody tail until we can find the means to chop it off! And you," he snapped again, this time at Malfoy, "You just --stay. There. Quietly."

George stared at his twin in shock. Fred's chest was heaving with the force of his verbal explosion, his face red. And George couldn't feel anything but sad, because he knew exactly why. The reason surprised him; sure, Malfoy was good looking, but he was Malfoy. He was sure Fred had never even glanced at another guy in that way before, and definitely not Malfoy. Well, maybe Oliver. But then, who wouldn't look at Oliver like that? If you could ever get him to shut up about Quidditch, he was quite attractive.

George shook his head to clear his thoughts, then stepped towards Fred hesitantly, reaching out to touch his twin's arm. "Freddy? You alright?" he asked, softly. Fred deflated instantly, shoulders sagging. He nodded, not saying anything. George stepped closer, wrapping his arm around Fred's shoulder in a half-hug. Fred leaned into him, letting out a sigh. "Forget about it," he murmured in Fred's ear. Fred nodded again, then pushed himself away to grab the cloak.

"This," he said calmly, softly, without emotion, holding the shimmering fabric up for Malfoy and Pansy to see, "is an Invisibility Cloak."

"Is that supposed to mean something to me?" Draco asked rudely, wrapping his arms around Pansy tighter so she wouldn't leave him. He didn't want her succumbing to the Weasel's will.

Pansy's eyes widened at the sight of the Cloak, and she whispered something in Draco's ear. His eyes widened as well, and if anything, his face grew more sour. "So that's how Potter gets away with doing everything!" He glared at the twins and the Cloak. "Well, go on. What is it about Potter's cloak that makes it so special?"

"Well, that's a bit obvious, isn't it?" George asked, looking at Malfoy with a raised eyebrow. "It makes you invisible. Really, I thought you were supposed to be smart."

"Like this," Fred said, then slipped the cloak over himself and dissappeared. He grinned to himself, and walked over to stand beside Malfoy. He reached out, scratched his nails lightly against the back of the boy's neck, right where his hair started to grow. His leaned down slowly until his mouth was close to Malfoy's ear, and breathed, "Boo." Might as well try to torture Malfoy, if the git was so keen on torturing Fred himself.

((I realise I'm spending a lot of time on Fred, but worry not. George will come around. 83))

((Ok. xD ))

Draco jumped and shrieked. "You stupid git! Go back to your side of the room!" He went red, out of annoyance and humiliation at begin startled. Pansy rubbed his arm comfortingly. "Can't you people be serious? Pansy and I want to be normal as soon as possible!"

Fred pulled the cloak off of his face, making himself look like a floating head, and burst out in laughter. Merlin, he needed that. Malfoy's shriek was just....brilliant. George started laughing as well, then moved to stand over by Fred on Malfoy's 'side of the room.' "Not our fault you aren't being cooperative, Draco," Fred said, smug. He took the cloak off completely, then handed it to George. George examined it for a moment, nodded, then cast a wordless spell and the cloth tore into two pieces.

"Parkinson," he said, "if you would please stand up?" He even offered his hand to help her up, ever the gentleman. His mother raised him with manners, after all. He just usually chose to ignore the fact that she had.

Draco scowled and didn't say anything. When Pansy sent him a questioning look, as if to ask if it was ok to 'co-operate', he nodded sullenly.

Pansy took George's hand hesitantly and stood up. She immediately let go of him and put her hands on her hips. "What now?" she asked in her whiniest tone.

Instead of answering, George spun the girl around so her back was facing him and kneeled. He gently grabbed her tail, spreading one of the Invisibility Cloak pieces over the beaver appendage, and nodded as the whole of her tail dissappeared. The cloak still worked, then. "D'you know what Seran Wrap is, Parkinson?" he asked, but didn't wait for her to answer. "Well, its plastic wrap. Muggles use it to cover food and such. It sticks to everything --never comes off, unless you pull it. I'm going to spell the cloth to work like Seran Wrap. Alright?" He glanced up at Fred, and said with a smirk, "D'you mind doing Malfoy, Fred?"

Fred spluttered, turning red. "I --you --what?" George shrugged nonchalantly, but the smirk on his face grew.

"Well, I was just thinking it would go faster if I did Parkinson here and you did Malfoy. If you wrapped his wings, I mean."

Fred glared at his twin, but picked up the other half of the cloak and moved behind Malfoy, on the other side of the bed. "Er --I need to sit behind you," he muttered at the blonde boy. He didn't wait for permission, but sat softly on the bed, scooting so he was facing Malfoy's wings. He reached out to run his fingers lightly over the feathers --he couldn't help himself-- then examined the cloak. "This is never going to fit," he said. George, to Fred's utter horror, laughed. Fred tried to ignore his twin, and focused on ripping the cloth in half again. Two pieces, one for each wing, and he enlarged them both so that they'd fit over the wings. "Ready?" he asked, though he wasn't sure to who.

"Yeah, ok," Draco said boredly, but on the inside he was nervous. This wasn't going to work. "Question. How exactly am I supposed to go around the halls with a gigantic space behind my back that just so happens to be hard and will hurt anyone if they walk into it?"

"Oh. Well. Um...?" Fred said, looking at George. George shrugged at him.

"Its not like people ever get close enough to you to touch, anyway," he said simply, then went about folding the cloak tightly around Parkinson's tail.

Even Fred wasn't comforted by that explanation. "George, I don't think this will--"

"Its only for a few days, Fred. Its the best we've got for now."

Fred sighed, but George was right. It wasn't like they had many options. "Sorry," he murmured to Malfoy. "You'll just have to be careful, alright?" He reached forward and careful gripped the top of a wing. He took one of the cloak pieces and draped it over the abnormality. He felt an odd emtpy sensation in his stomach as he watched the wing disappear. He pressed his hand into the now emtpy space, and the knot in his stomach loosened as he felt something warm and solid there. He let out the breath he hadn't known he was holding, and asked softly, "Can you...feel anything with them?" He ran his hand down the uncovered wing, reveling in its softness. "Can you feel this?"

He glanced at George, who was muttering to himself as he tried to remember just what the words to the Seran Wrap spell were. He was chewing lightly on the tip of his wand, and seemed to be ignoring everything but the invisible tail in front of him.

"Yeah," Draco said uncomfortably, because it felt so good. He shifted on the bed.

Meanwhile, Pansy was looking impatiently over her shoulder at George. She was disgusted by the fact that George's hand was so close to her arse, but she didn't do anything to stop it, because she wanted the tail to be gone...or at least not to have to see it. "Are you almost done, Weasel? You've been staring at my butt for five minutes."

"Hm?" George said, looking up. "Oh, yeah. Sorry. I tend to get spacey when I'm working on something. Let me just--" he broke off, and tightened the cloak one last time. He poked it with his wand, murmuring the spell. It was one he and Fred had made up a long time ago, and he'd never expected to have to actually use it. He placed his hand against the tail again, nodding as he felt the fabric tighten further, sticking and molding to itself. "That should stick," he murmured. "Are you finished, Fred?" He looked up at his twin, who was not at all focusing on covering Malfoy's wings, instead runing his fingers over the feathers. Merlin, what was this obsession Fred had with soft things?

Fred jumped slightly at the sound of George's voice. "What?" he asked dumbly, fingers still trailing over Malfoy's soft wing. "Oh. Oh, right. Just a second." He quickly covered Malfoy's other wing, his stomach twisting again at the sight, and moved to tuck the fabric tighter. "Um," he said, "I need you to open your wings up. One at a time. Left first, if you don't mind. Think you can control them enough? Or is it too awkward? I could help you, if you want."
