The street was barren and empty, most of the power still fried from the storm and the Draconian's scream. The rain whipped the black abyss that vaguely resembled the road, and the shadows that could be mistake for houses seemed weakened and injured by the hurricane's wrath.

The rain continued to pound, but with the easing of the storms other barrages the street had begun to recover, with some of the flashier houses down the end of the street pulling themselves back to life and flickering with weakened electricity.
For a few seconds, the statue stood still, no movement, no function, no life. It simply crumbled and existed, as if it had no purpose in the world other than the simplicity of existing, of being there, in the room, in the house, in the street. Then the right eye flickered on.

Suddenly there was a bright flash of lightning in the distance, and another two houses at the end of the street lit up as if awakened by the strike.

Lightning flashed again, striking the top of Ebony's house - and lighting up the silhouette of a large, chunky statue in the middle of the driveway.

There was another flash of lighting and a gigantic clap of rolling, continuous thunder - and the statue was closer.
