[[Going off for the night. ]]
The wind was starting to get cold against my velvety black fur, so I took off the branch and drifted down to the ground of a sinister woods. At least, it felt eerie. It was quiet, and shadows taunted at me from all sides.
I would feel much safer in my second
form as a jaguar, but I didn't want to frighten any animals that came by. Hiding behind a bush, mostly because I felt so paranoid about shifting now, I shifted to my human form. Pushing my black hair impatiently out of my brown eyes, I looked out of the bush as if the enemy was going to come and attack.
None came.
I swallowed nervously, standing up on my two legs and feeling completely exposed without canines or wings to prevent me from any harm. I haven't been in my human form in... So long. I touched my face, neck, and arms as if this was the first time being in this body, almost in fascination. It felt good, really, to be in Nicole's true self again.
Though that didn't help the quiet woods from frightening me as I took a couple steps forward, hoping I could find a bunny friend for company. The coolness from before was only worse. I was wearing pants that were ripped to my calves. Probably from my paranoid running, before I had chosen to stay as a bird for those couple weeks. My short sleeved T-shirt was fine for the most part, seeing as I haven't been in my human form for a while.
Maybe more shifters were in hiding in these woods. Now all I had to do was look through the miles and miles of wood to find it.
