    Rahu

AGE:
1,620 years (24 in human comparison)
GENDER:
Male
PERSONALITY:
Gentle-spirited
and calm. Rahu tends to live in peace and happiness. He often is found
quietly meditating and possibly sleeping. This is not to say, however,
that Rahu is always a peaceful dragon. Just as the spring brings showers
and impressive monsoons, Rahu's rage can make a terrifying appearance.
ABILITIES:
Can
control seasons and resurrect himself if he has lived long enough in
his cycle. His specialty is fire, since he is a phoenix dragon.
WEAPONS:
His claws, fangs, elemental control, and tail.
HISTORY:
Rahu hatched from an egg many years ago after his parents had been petrified by the curse laid on them by those who wanted dragons extinct. He had spent much of his time growing up on his own and learned all that he needed to learn about basic survival thanks to the help from the animals. Every now and then he would come across another dragon, but two dragons in one area was a dangerous thing and would attract the humans to hunt and kill them.
He found his ability to control the weather early in his life and decided to take advantage of it. He would practice bringing seasons early or driving them out late or even skip them if he could. many times this dragon should have died, but he has been resurrected by his own ashes. However, each time it is becoming more and more difficult to return to life.
Rahu has the tendancy to frighten the humans. They recognize his ability and try to refrain from doing the season-changer any harm, but there are those who have had enough of dragons and attack if they see him.
It took many years for him to master the art of disguise, his need to evolve and adapt as humans do caused him to practice more on changing than on controlling the weather, as a result, there was a vast unbalance in the world. He managed to restore it, thankfully, but at a great cost of making all the humans upset with him. This lead him to seek the help of other dragons, and consequently, sent him on the quest to find the orb that releases the other dragons from their petrification.
OTHER:
When Rahu transforms into a human, he is tall, lightly tanned, and has the same style of hair as his mane is in his dragon form. His eyes are an amber hue with cat-like pupils. He does well to hide them from others by pulling his hair in front of his face, barring the vision to his eyes directly. And when he is in his human form, he goes by the name "Tibias".

((I'll just wait till you post your bio then start, Detters. lolz.))

ÄGAR

Ägar

AGE:
4,771 years old (about 26 as a human)
GENDER:
Male
PERSONALITY:
Arrogant, though kind, Ägar sees himself as higher than most others. This is no doubt as his position as Tengri, or Sky Father, for the world, and the previous adoration of many clueless humans simply inflated his ego. No matter the situation, one can count on Ägar putting himself ahead. It may be on the battlefield, or simply in a friendly sparring of wits, but Ägar will be first. After the religion centred around him collapsed with the new order, Ägar's personality became even more abrasive. Any mention of his lack of supporters is met with a snappy response and the full force of his ire.
(AKA Ägar is a sulk, and always will be.)
ABILITIES:
He is the God of the Sky, or at least the former god. However, his powers generally revolve around death and birth, as well as the rising and falling of the sun and moon. Considering his abilities foremost, Ägar is constantly boasting of them. He can also create thunder storms, though this is a shaky ability and he keeps most in the dark about it.
WEAPONS:
His claws, fangs, tail, and powers.
HISTORY:
Ägar is perhaps one of the older dragons to have survived the petrifying. This was most likely due to the pockets of more 'barbaric' societies that continued to deify him. Due to their zealous protection of this mature dragon, as well as slight fear on the part of his abilities, Ägar managed to avoid being killed or affected by the odd orb. When his following just about collapsed, Ägar disappeared into the mountains for over four hundred years, hiding from any humans that dared the icy peaks.
Nowadays he has managed to learn how to turn into a human, and is slowly moving back into their society. Despite his dislike for the zealous men and women who hunt his kind constantly, Ägar enjoys learning of their customs and how their society works.
OTHER:
In his human form, Ägar has long, silver hair, and a ruddy complexion that makes it pop. His eyes are the green-yellow commonly found in felines, and Ägar wears the colour red almost obsessively.

"Ah-AHHHCHOO!" The wild-haired young man wiped his nose and sniffled a bit. The hay ride hauling him from point a--that being a small, unmarked town down by the great river crossing--to point b, which happened to be several miles away and would take days to travel on foot, was rocky and undesirable. However, it was cheap and efficient and that was all that truly mattered to him.

Rahu--or rather, Tibias--leaned his head against the side of the cart and stared groggily out into the distance. His eyes were red and his nose was stuffed. All in all, he was not a happy camper. The ride made him feel sick and like he wanted to throw up whatever he had eaten that day. What had he eaten? Maybe he hadn't had anything at all. It was hard to recall.

Tibias closed his eyes and felt the rocking of the single mule-pulled cart lull him to sleep. He snorted a few times, then rolled around lazily, dangerously close to falling asleep. Then, suddenly, a crack of the whip was heard, jolting Tibias awake and back to his sad, groggy state of watching the road appear from beneath him and the cart.

Ägar coughed and sniffed delicately as dust motes swirled around him in a sudden gust of wind. Taking out a fold of cloth from his belt, the silver-haired man held it in front of his nose daintily. Unfolding his tall body gracefully, Ägar paused to scratch his neck contemplatively before loping out of the forest. The day had been spent in meditation and revisiting idle fantasies. How wonderful, he thought, if I could go back to the days of being a powerful god. Especially with all those humans bowing underneath me.

Rolling his shoulders and fixing the strap of his travelling sack, Ägar almost missed the cart trundling by. Almost as in there was no chance in heaven or hell that he would have been able to ignore the giant creaks and phantom noises it was creating. Ears offended by such a sound, Ägar marched right up to the road and put his hands on his hips. Cutting a dashing (mhm...) figure in a red cotton tunic and black leggings, Ägar waved one hand at the cart and sighed.

''And where are you headed?'' he asked.

The peddler glanced back, stopping his carriage and ultimately causing Tibias to fall over. The old man stared down the stranger with his good eye and responded through clenched teeth. "To the ol' city, Ralwerth. Yer welcome on board, stranger. I've already got a passenger." He turned around in his seat as Tibias stumbled back into the cart, laying in the hay and coughing a bit. He felt plugged.

"Just dun' go miffin' meh ass," he said, tapping the mule gently with his willow branch. "She ain' in the best o' moods today and this guy got 'er riled up." He then flicked the willow backwards and struck Tibias in the nose, causing him to flinch and sit up. He was too congested to retort, however, and simply laid back down, covering any open flesh with clothing to hide from the stinging blows of the limber willow branch.

Gazing at the mule mistrustfully (those beady eyes had something in for him), Ägar tried to think of a kind way to defer. However, he had no wish to go traipsing about the countryside as either human or dragon, and the cart was a better option than none...right? Making a noise that sounded like a cross between a sigh, a moaning cow and a rather irritated chicken, Ägar gracefully accepted the offer and dipped his head.

''Many thanks,'' he offered as he stepped into the cart. Settling down on crossed legs, Ägar gave the second man a rather curious look. The man, though mostly average in appearance, had brightly coloured hair that brought a flicker of doubt to Ägar's mind. The thought of meeting one of his kindred in the middle of nowhere was odd, but not entirely impossible. But, seeing no way other than outright asking the man if he was a dragon, Ägar ignored it and leaned back against the hay.

''Why take a hay cart if it gives you allergies?'' Ägar asked.

The cart driver cracked the air and the mule shoved off with much effort exerted into the first step.

When the man posed a question to him, Tibias sat up and glanced to him, his hair obstructing his vision effectively, though it was obvious he had puffy, red eyes at this point and his nose was the same colour as the tips of his hair. "A ride is a ride, eh?" He said with a dopey smile. His mind was like mud and he didn't think properly. The words stumbled out of his mouth awkwardly as he spoke. He flopped back down, knocking his head against the wall of the cart and breathed in deeply through his mouth, finding his nose was effectively plugged.

''That's disgusting,'' Ägar said. His tone was affable, but there was still that hint of irritation at the man's sniffing and obnoxiously loud breathing. It also didn't help that the entire cart rattled when the stranger banged his head against the wall of the cart. Ägar was certain he could feel a shudder run through the rickety transport, threatening to come apart at the spokes.

''Careful wit' 'er!'' the cart driver exclaimed. He turned around and glared at the two angrily. Red-faced and nearing his time, the farmer had neither a pretty countenance or personality to make up for the ride. Ägar debated blasting him to pieces.

''Careful yourself,'' Ägar said under his breath. Crossing his arms casually, Ägar swept his eyes over the painfully sick stranger before breaking down and asking his name.

''They call me...Ami. What do you go by?''

He struggled a moment to grasp his name that he went by. He almost said Rahu, but his subconcious told him. "No, no. You aren't Rahu now. You're some one else." He searched his mind a bit, then said. "Tibias." He could tell he was getting on the other stranger's nerves, even though he had no intention to. He refrained from doing anything for the time being.

It was strange. As a dragon he had no allergies and could tolerate many things. As a human, he had hay fever and couldn't stand the cold. He covered his mouth when he breathed, trying to keep his ride-mate's temper at ease. He didn't want to pry into his business, it was obvious Ami wasn't into those sorts of things, but he couldn't help but ask. "What takes you to Ralwerth?"

''I study how humans interact with each other, as well as the different religions that span across the continent.''

Ägar rubbed his arm then, feeling a flush of heat on the tanned length. The sun had been taking a terrible toll on him ever since he had crossed the border from Nordumbria. If Ägar had looked in a mirror recently, he would have noticed flushed cheeks and burned shoulders. Luckily his crimson tunic hid most of his body parts, otherwise the dragon would have been in agony. Physical pain was not easily tolerated by him.

With a little mutter that was most certainly obscene, Ägar shifted his position lightly. At least Tibias had stopped breathing through his mouth, though the honking noises from his nose were little better.

''If I may be so bold, then, what is your reason? Surely you are not enduring this cart rides for a simple journey.''

Tibias felt a bit tense at the idea of him studying humans. He never paid close attention to humans and possibly didn't act like one very much. He sat up and adjusted himself to be somehwat presentable and ever worried he would be tagged as not normal.

"I'm... looking for work, actually. Spent my last coin on food in the last town and need to find a job that pays well enough." Tibias explained. He remained perfectly still, aside from the rise and fall of his chest as he breathed quietly, much more quieter than before.

Work. That's what everyone is looking for these days, right?

''You realize that no-one can get a job these days, I hope?'' Ägar said with a chuckle. He did not mind the man's reaction so much as his response. It was common knowledge as far as the north. Perhaps this man had been knocked silly on his journey, or was hiding some ulterior motive. Whatever it was, Ägar was sure to find it out. Nothing could hide from his eyes.

''But if you would like, I could hire you on as my assistant. I can't promise money, but I can promise food.''

The offer was intriguing. It worked for Ägar, as he would have a constant subject to study, and he would gain a travelling companion. He supposed if Tibias annoyed him too much he could always snack on him once they got back to the wilderness. He lacked the hard look too many humans had these days; hungry for food and lusting for money.

His stomach clenched as the man offered him a job. He was the last person to be examined for his behaviour, but before he could think properly, his mouth formed the words. "Sounds fair!"

Tibias' fists cluched his earthy brown pant legs and he turned around to swing his legs over the back of the cart and stare out at the retreating hills. What had he just signed up for? What was he supposed to do? He would have to leave his employer without notice at some point and that would just arise some suspicion, if not frustration.

"S-So... what do I have to do?" he asked, wanting to play the part of an eager worker as best he could.

''Mmm, take notes, help me gather supplies, other sorts of useful tasks. But keep in mind I travel extensively, and therefore rarely have the time to gain any sort of long term data. So I hope you don't mind I also keep notes on you?''

Uncrossing his arms, Ägar pulled open his satchel and retrieved a worn cheesecloth. Bulging with items, the cheesecloth still retained a faintly baked smell from the fresh loaves it had held before. Now, it was the home to a few slices of smoked bacon and hard, but nourishing, cheese. Somewhere else in his bag Ägar had stuffed travelling cakes, but he felt reluctant sharing the most essential meal he had.

''You must be hungry. Please, do not hesitate to take some,'' he offered. Unfolding the cloth he arranged the meat and cheese and smiled not-very-modestly. He enjoyed being able to lord his goods over another. It only proved how much better he was.

He swallowed hard while gazing down at the food. His saliva built up in his mouth as he stared at it, resisting the temptation to eat. Once invited to, Tibias snatched up some of the strips of bacon and the cheese and ate it gratefully.

"Thank you, Ami." He said after emptying his mouth of the food. It wasn't filling, not even close, but still, the taste of food on his tongue was enough to make him feel rejuvenated. He didn't feel as tired or stuffy. His mind cleared somewhat and he could think better.

He thought a bit and said. "I'm pretty good at those things, I think. I haven't taken notes before, but I think I can manage." Wait, he didn't know how to write in the language he was speaking in. Tibias clenched his teeth and began to panic silently again, but tried to remain perfectly calm about it. "H-How much longer?" He asked back to the driver.

"Half 'n hour." He snapped back, with a short temper in his tone. It seemed as though Tibias had asked the question thirty times in the last four minutes.

Ägar did not reply, but did incline his head with a smug grin. Already feeling better, especially now that Tibias had perked up and decided to stop flailing around like a leper, Ägar settled back into the prickly hay for a nap. Yellow-green eyes flickered as he turned to glare at the driver.

Ägar woke with a start not some twenty minutes later, back aching and muscles sore from lack of a proper bed. Shaking out his long silver hair, the disguised dragon stretched out his limbs one by one. Pulling himself into a sitting position, Ägar tilted his head and stared at the approaching city.

Though not the largest, Ralwerth certainly had a rich culture. Bordering the Sept and southern Bridgelands, Ralwerth welcomed dozens of races and religions into its walls. It was part of the reason Ägar was so excited to immerse himself in the culture.

Perhaps he would even find some mention of the Sky Father.

Seeing Ami doze off, Tibias decided to follow suit, not wanting to stay up unnecessarily. He closed his eyes and clutched to the side of the cart, not wanting to fall back into the hay. Tibias felt cramped, sore, and wanted to stretch. Attempting to find some reprieve, he flexed his leg muscles and arms, but nothing worked. He'd have to shift out of his disguise soon if he was to stop feeling so antsy. He managed to fall asleep quite fast.

The disguised dragon was jostled to wakefulness when the cart came to a stop. Accidentally stumbling down, Tibias turned around and faced the cart driver who said. "Alright. Off with the lot of yeh. I've got a delivery to make an' they won't be pleased to see free-loaders." Tibias, wanting to make a decent last impression, thanked the old man and waved farewell. He snuffed and flicked the mule, who brayed and began to trot slowly, but with less effort.

"So... what do you want to do now?" Tibias asked, glancing to his employer.

Ägar had hopped off the cart with relative ease, though his calf had cramped up as soon as it touched the ground. Wincing and rubbing the offended body part, Ägar deliberated the honest question. Really, he had no idea. What had made him ask this kid anyways? Now he would have to restrict himself. Watching humans was fine, but living like one left a hollow pit in his belly. Ägar hated closed buildings with a passion, and the humans seemed to have multitudes upon multitudes of them.

''...find an inn,'' Ägar mumbled doubtfully. Yes, that was what most travellers to a new city did. They found an inn, left their stuff and went to either the market or a famous landmark. It seemed like some sort of time-honoured wanderer's tenet.

''And then we can go out or rest. Are you still hungry?'' Ägar switched forms enough to keep his natural ability to go without food for a week. So the thought of eating more left him feeling nauseous, but his companion was only a frail human who obviously needed to sit down and have a quiet moment.

Thought...perhaps dragons are naturally superior to humans when they first shift, but prolonged exposure strips away their dragon-like qualities? And they don't come back right away, but it takes a few days in their natural form before they're in tip-top shape? LOL just an idea. c:

((Sounds good! I like that idea. lol.))

An inn? Wonderful. A nice place to sleep with a nice bed. Tibias had grown accustomed to the beds and, while his employer was sleeping, he'd be able to sneak out and give his wings and tail a stretch.

When asked if he was still hungry, he nodded slowly, trying to hide his eagerness to eat.  "But I can eat later if you want to get to work first. I'll find the cheapest inn for us... or do you prefer something... nicer?" Usually, the cheaper the hotel, the less appealing it was and more dingy and gross it was. He didn't mind. Tibias would live in a cave for years and years if he didn't have to control the seasons.
