Tap tap tap. Rachel tapped her pencil on her desk. Glancing at the clook, she moaned. Five more bloody minutes, of math, for crying out loud. The person in the desk turned around, glaring at her. She stuck out her tounge, and they turned around. Rach tried to pay attention to the monotone of the teacher voice, but it could not hold her for long. "Yes!" she cried out loud, causing a few people to glance at her. Let em' stare, only a minute left! 60, 59, 58, 57. She gathered up her stuff, jamming it into her back pack. 42, 41, 39. She slipped the starp on her shoulder, preparing to bolt for the door. 11, 10, 9, 8. The teacher glared at her for getting ready. Rachel shook it off, not her problem. 4, 3, 2, 1. Ring! Yes! School over! Well, for today. Making her way to the door, she partically sprinted down the hall. The door flung open, and she stood outside. Rachel took a deep breath, filling her lungs with the clean air of the outdoors. Smiling and sighing, she paced over to a tree, slumping down at the base. The bark felt good, pure, whole, not like the damned school. She took antoher deep breath, and closed her eyes. ooc, wow, way longer than I wanted...

Rach leaped in the air at the sudden voice. Landing in a crouch, her hand flew to her belt. Shoot, she thought, school, no knife. Standing, she looked at the man who stood before her. "What? I was just looking forward to after school have a problem with that?"

Rachel nodded, unsure if she should be answering. "Yes. I'm fine. Just..." she shrugged. "the school is not a fun place. It's too... unnatural. You know?"

"Rachel, but most call me Rach." She reached out, shaking her hand. Suddenly, something sparked. Gasping, she pulled her hand out of his grasp. Tingels ran up her hand, and the hair on the back of her neck stood up. Glaring at Qent, she waited for an explanation.

Rach glanced to the south. "Um, not really. It's a ways out, in the forest." She shrugged, running a hand though her hair. "Erratic foster parents. They thought it would be good for me, I guess." She turned back to him. "What about you?"
