Mr Grim began taking role call, an the uniformed obedient students all sat up straight and clearly and precisely recited 'present', although they were the only ones in the class to do so. Mr Grim took in a deep breath and his scars seemed to shine slightly in the light. He lifted up from under his desk some sort of pool cue, cracked his neck once more and slammed it into his desk, snapping it clean in half and flinging one half across the room, right by Holly, to stab into the back wall. All the students, horrified and confused by the sickening snap and the pool cue flying across the room, became silent. Mr Grim rubbed his face once more and placed the pool cue under the table and began to call the role once more.

Bow Wielder half-caught half-hugged Holly, more to stop himself from attacking back than to comfort her. Mr Grim's frowned lessened, likely as close to he would get to smiling. He placed the other pool cue on the desk as a warning, then simply resumed taking the role as if nothing had happened.

Bow Wielder sat Holly upright again, then checked her for any injuries, even though she had just said she was fine and Bow Wielder knew the pool cue had not even touched her. Mr Grim called Carpal, then Jorrow, then Soy's names.

Mr Grim finished the roll call and then whacked the tip of the pool cue against the white board, which had the instructions of the lesson and a very strict set of classroom rules which took up a hole separate whiteboard.
