Axe made his way down the maze of back-alleys that separated the Vampire Dog territory from the main street. The smell of the alley was gone from the air but he could still smell it on his own fur and judging by the way a homeless human cringed away from him, everything else could smell it too. Axe sighed, glancing at the human before continuing to walk. Human blood was taboo. Missing dogs, sure, not to much panic. A dead human risked their whole species survival. He jolted, when he heard a hiss to his left. A cat. He lunged at it snapping it up in his jaw, draining it. It scratched him once before it was dead and he dropped it to the ground in disgust. A few drops of black blood fell to the ground before the wound healed itself, not even leaving a scar.
