I wasn’t hungry anymore; felt fully satisfied with that ‘shrieking like a little girl’ thirty year old. As I walked around the woods, with nothing in particular to do, I jumped up high and sat on a sturdy branch, about 50 - 60 feet from the ground. Leaning my head back, so it laid against the actual tree, I closed my eyes and took in the surroundings.
This life I had got lonely. And, somewhat dangerous.
And, smothered with guilt.
I had to kill, to survive. It wasn’t the best life choice I had in mind.
I was going to be a doctor. A physician, to be exact. When I was human, it was my dream ever since I was young. My father was a physician also, which made my dream blossom.
But, this curse upon me. This life I had to live now, was the way I was going to be for the rest of my life. My miserable life.
I had a tendency to drown in self pity, when I was alone.
I heard about how the police found the corpse to my meal. My prey. I remember hearing that he had a family. A daughter, and a wife. It only made the guilt I lived with, even more unbearable.
There wasn’t much I could do during the day. Except talk to animals as if they were able to respond. The conversations usually didn’t last very long. I got bored, and… Thirsty.
And, I couldn’t go out, acting normal. I would burn to ash if I let those sun rays get to me. That was why I always stayed here. At Clearback Forest. At least during the summer. Clearback Forest was close by my prey, but far enough to not be seen. It was the perfect habitat for a kind like mine. If only I could find some other vampires, or some other thing that people find nonexistent. Someone I could at least talk to, without feeling compelled to eat them.

 Tino's mother turned to her and demanded, "Tino, I ban you from going into the forest! It is not safe anymore!" Tino rolled her eyes. "But mother, what else is there to do here than explore the forest? You know it's what I like the most about summer." She glanced at her mom to see if it was working. "And I promise you I'll always be back before the sun set." Her mother's face was like a brick. "And I'll always go with someone. I'm sure Sherry or Berwald would explore with me. I'll stay on the path. And I'll come back before the sun sets." She repeated the last one again.

Her mother's face soften. "Alright Tino, just tell me before you go." Tino beamed up at her. "I'm going as soon as I get my gear ready! Sherry already said she'll go with me today." And with that, the girl rushed up the stairs to fill her backpack with gear and snacks.

Twenty minutes later, she was wishing her mother goodbye and heading up the hill towards Sherry's house. As soon as her own house was out of sight, she turned and started walking the mile to the forest. Tino didn't beleave the person who had killed the man was still there, he, or she, was probably far off by now.

Tino skipped her way into the forest, the junk in her backpack clinking and swooshing.  After about an hour of wandering around, Tino found a clearing and decided to take a nap. She layed down and quickly fell asleep.

I was watching her the whole hour as she wandered around. She was alone, it seemed. I kept jumped from one branch to another, from tree to tree, just watching. I doubted she could see me from this distance, for I was even higher up then before, not wanting to take chances.
But, now she was asleep. My self control disappeared as I slowly started down the branches, being as quiet as possible. Gracefully, I jumped to the ground and landed perfectly on my feet. She didn’t awaken.
Again slowly, I walked towards the girl, hoping she would not wake as I went on one knee next to her, and watched in fascination.
Without thinking of common sense, I reached my cold hand out and wiped stray hairs that the wind breezed over to make cover her face. Realizing that she could wake up at how cold my hand was, I immediately jumped and ran with my vampire speed to higher up in the tree, and watched her from that distance. If she had awakened, I doubted she would have seen me. But, she might have felt my hand though. I sat there silent, hoping she didn’t awaken.

Tino did wake, but she didn't see the man who's name Rabbah still doesn't know. She touched her cheek in biwelderment, wondering what had woken her. She decided that she really didn't care, and that she should start walking again. She had wandered off the path a while ago, so there was no reason for her not to continue exploring.

For some reason though, during the next hour, Tino had a feeling that someone was watching her. She was so caught up in trying to find who was stalking her, her foot caught a stray root and she toppled painfully over. During her fall, she hear a small 'snap' sound.

Or just a broken bone? ]]

YET... ]]

I saw her get up and walk away. That meant she didn't know I was there. She didn't realize I was watching her.
I kept jumping from branch to branch, keeping a close eye on the girl. There wasn't much else I could do around here lately.
I saw her fall, and fought a urge so large to not jump down and help her.
But, then, with my vampire sense, I heard a snap.
Frowning, I lost all sense of logic and jumped from the tree, and walked over to the girl.
"Are you alright?"
When I came in contact with people, I tried to hide the british accent I had. I'd rather just fit in. But, I wasn't caring about how I sounded, I just wanted to know if she was alright.
"Lets take a look at this..."
I mumbled as I went to one knee, and put a hand on her ankle. "It looks swollen."

[[Mwahahaha!]]

 Tino looked at what'shisface for a second before stuttering out. "Who the h.ll are you?"

My patience wasn't very large. My temper was short.
"I was just trying to help."
My voice growled monstrously as I stood up and started walking away. A small voice in my head told me that she truly did nothing wrong. I just hated that question because I had no idea how to answer.
Rolling my eyes, I turned around, leaning against the tree.
With a sigh, I started,
"I'm Eddie. I'm always in these woods. I saw you fall."

Out of all the years of me living - human and vampire - I never heard of a name like that.
At her next response, I froze. If she knew about the killer, I had to be careful not to make her think it was me.
"Yeah, I know that. But I'm not letting some killer get away from my usual routine. I always come out here, as I've said before." I lied, then tried to change the subject.
"Tino? I've never heard of that name."
I started, while I walked toward her and back on my knee to help her with her ankle. "Is there a reason your parents named you Tino? Does it mean something?"

[[Tino is italian xD In a story I like, the guy named his finnish character 'Timo', but the name got translated to 'Tino' on accedent]]

"My mother had a brainfart when the doctors asked for my name. She wanted to name me 'Timo', which is Finnish, but she accidentally said 'Tino', which I'm pretty sure is Italian." She told him and cursed herself for her talkativeness. "Your name isn't to common around here either."

[[Ohhh. At first I thought it was a typo. And it was supposed to be 'Tina' short for 'Christina' which is my name. Bahahaha xD ]]

"Yeah, but i've heard of the name 'Eddie' before. Many times."
I've killed many by the name of Eddie. Maybe it was to symbolize that I wish I was dead. Or maybe a coincidence. I would probably never know.
"Can I help?"
I asked, pointing to her ankle and already taking a ice pack from the first aid box. She had no choice if I could help or not.
"Maybe you should go home. Your ankle looks really bad."

 She shrugged. "Do you think you could cary me home? It's about a two hour walk from here if you don't get lost." She snorted the last part. Like a complete stranger would do that for her. The man was probably going to kidnap her or something.
