Tonight we speak of legends, gathered round the flames
And vampires, werewolves, common men, of ghosts and kings and slaves
And crowns long lost to finding, and names too faint to hear
And graves unmarked by human hand, that nameless thing called fear
And do you hear the silence enfolding like a cloak
Was that yet a footstep crunching through the undregrowth?
And is that bark an echo, do you know if it's full moon?
And dark enough for trolls tonight, though dawns light spells their doom
And if you feel a pain in the middle of the night
Don't fear, be calm and peaceful, spread your wings, take flight.

The darkened sky sets like death,
ending the brightest of days,
Where children play and adults walk,
Setting at the darks delay.
Roses bud and flowers welter,
Hanging low in the breeze,
Animals hoard and fight to run,
Hiding away from imposers.
Something sets in this darkened sky,
Death it would seem.
A broken heart is sourly followed,
by a hallowed scream.

((Got a little distracted...))

A ruby flawed within, without
An echo of a dream
And sounds that no human throat shouts
A silent, endless scream
Blood that drips beneath a wound
That no one else can see
And all around you lie marooned
And curse their destiny.

We hard reset our relationship

Our love was faulty from the start,
no warranty included
Our systems crashed daily and
Error 404 Love Not Found
whirring hearts overheated,
we malfunctioned,
we stopped working.

But instead of breaking up,
we broke down,
smashed some Windows, too,
we vowed to contact our support personnel
in hopes of getting rid of this damn virus

my name's russ and i only care about uldavi and cute men

[okay, damn. Strikeh you're good.]

The scream that pierced,
the fight that followed,
and the bloodless night,
Where war is strong,
and weakened still,
by the love that it fights.
The knights with glinting armour,
standing in the shade,
bloody spears at the ready,
Hiding from the loveless pain.

The sky is grey and heavy with the promise of the rain
The ground is dry and parched from hoping for a change
The cloudbank bursts and from within it unleashes storm
And the earth is muddy, seeds released and new life is born
Yet soon returns to silence, the rain has long since fled
The cacti and the camels stand alone amid the red
Of sand that long ago was soil, and glass and grass and stone
This wasted desert once was real and people called it 'home'
There is a dried up chasm, wide and far and deep
The river long since wasted, some secrets it keeps
And you think you see an eagle, wheeling 'neath the sun
But it is gone, you're all alone, the last and only one
To remember what it was before, to ever wonder just how far
This land has come from that old home man called 'America'

The ground crumples,
Withered stone where water once lied,
Footprints scar the ground,
Like marks upon a crown.
Standing out amongst the trees,
a fire that scorches grain.
Cracking rubble litter the floor
and broken branches sleep,
deadness settle in the passage,
of where great animals weep.
Heavy treads where water hits,
it's hidden graveyard,
And all along laying dormant,
Giants, long ago scarred.

A cloud depicted on a rock, the only sign of life
In this desolate, wasted wilderness
Mankind wanted to conquer death, instead only strife
Was born from a button, pushed at the wrong time
The radar shows an enemy, the warnings come too late
A child's game, the child's shame, a bug within the gears
And hacking isn't easy when you step too close to your fears
And big red buttons, itching, only to be pressed
A final thought of payback, before the world's compressed

A world of war decreases still,
as it's hurling foe defeats,
Death upon those who disbelief,
And life to those who creates.
Life isn't worthy,
if love withstands,
Keeping its curling hardened hands,
inside it's burly chest.
Wrapping it's heart with coiled nails,
And warding off others with hate.
Surely now, with all that has happened,
The survivors would not know blame,
but live a life of solitude,
humbled by their trait.

Battle conquer, and war simmers,
Keeping life at bay,
will the dead rise?
or will the live die?
Too meet the gruesome end.

And the world's still turning, spinning, whirling 'neath our feet
The stars they are still shining, as far as we can tell
And dreaming's done, our tasks complete
And here we stand, where countries fell
Information is a crime when used as we did once
To cause a war so deadly no one else still breathes
And yet we're but an echo, chance
The ghost in the machine

My only friend,
who I despise,
Is the one who hates.

He stands and stares,
and constantly growls,
Waiting for my wake.

I sleep and nap,
And to no end,
Pain my enemy,

It nags and charrs,
pulling my chords,
Bringing me down again.

I so loathe the day where I see his face,
Despising his scornful Smile,
His eyes will pierce my living soul,
for us, Death it's been a while.

*whatoosh*

A whispered breath of movement when all around is still
Can you see the moonlight is distorted?
There he stands, to all eyes invisible
But there nonetheless

A living myth, personified
With cloak and skull and shining blade
Ready to reap your soul
And take it back to where twas made

A vision to give sanity
To what all folk do fear
For what is Death, and what comes next
When everything is silent

Do you just drift off to sleep?
Close your eyes and wake no more?
Is it painful where you go
As you rot, do you know?

The ghost who haunts,
The shriek that cries,
piercing the lowly night.
Shadows haunt and hawks survive,
the awful frost bite.
Bloody turns,
and slipping lanes,
Limbs lay sombre,
Always in pain.
What will happen,
when you catch death?
The bloods eruption,
the skulls encase.
Your veins will burst,
and your souls erased...

Is there such a feeling as freefall standing still?
This rush of power that I feel when I stare at you?
The dream of old, my nightmare past
And future tainted by a fool's repast

And stillness shattered, sorrow unbound
You are gone, you are gone from here
The house holds only echoes
And the cobwebs of your memory

The soft draft,
the wispy breath,
The horrid taste,
of past lifes regret.
Something horrid,
stands in wait,
Hiding in the shadows,
with slowing gait.
It howls and barks,
Blaring it's eyes,
Watching for soulless men,
Before the Demise.
A headless horseman,
some may say,
but I see him,
as a haunted victory.
He is me,
and I am he,
My only fear,
My own Demise.
Some may think,
That death is nice,
But my opinion,
Is Death lies.

Do you fear the coming darkness
Knowing that the day is done?
Do you see a new beginning
Nothing wagered, nothing won?
Can you hear the crashing waves
Wearing slowly at the shore?
Do you want to stay alone
Or drift in dreaming evermore...?

Lovers dawn and Lovers die,
but love is everlasting,
when our bodies lay to rot,
will our hearts stand fasting?
Will our souls rise to God,
or will we stay on ground,
Will our bodies ever leave,
the Host that we have found.

Thumping drums and paper heroes
Drawn of pencil, light and shade
See through as the break of dawn
Never knowing who they save

Death and glory, intertwined
Within a single crystal drop
A tear is shed for those who fall
Swing the scythe and reap the crop

Names long faded, empty graves
Nothing but a memory
A warzone shattered in the forging
Is this what is left of me?

A blistered hope,

A strong sound,

Love prevails,

and love is found.

My heart doubles,

from it's putrid size,

I have found my hope,

By your side.

My god is holy,

My god is keen,

I've found my battle,

I've had no pain.

You have saved,

My heart sings,

A song so pure,

that pureness rings.
