with both the Item Auctions & the Creatu Auctions, at the end of the auction, does the person who opened it get any of the tu from the sale?

Yes, they get all of the TU.

For any sales you make (rancher, merchant, auction), you get all the TU from the sale. I see no reason why you wouldn't :)
