I know that eventually, every pet will need a revamp. With the speed of technology, that might be sooner rather than later. But, I know that some people do like certain revamps. I, for one, couldn't care for the new Iluvu Revamp. So, what if multiple artists drew their own versions of revamps, and users go to vote on them? Every User would get one vote, and it could either be an update, or through Rmail, I haven't really worked Rmail out yet. Any supporters? |

Do not support. The style of the pets and items on the site needs to match, its what we refer to as "Res style". All pets not in this current style will be revamped. Having artists drawing different versions of revamps would be incredibly time-consuming, and unfair to ask of them.

Broken, I know what you're saying. But, the Iluvu was Res-style, and it was revamped. Not all artists would have to participate, only the ones interested.

The iluvu and its style was outdated and didn't match the rest of the site's style anymore, that is why it was revamped. ;)

why should the artists waste time on a pet that they might not get votes for? pets should not be voted for as 14 stated
im sorry but i dont vote as the current system for this seems effective =]

Dark, because, when new revamps are created, Users don't think it fits, or they flat out dislike it. If Users got to vote, then if they didn't like it, the one they like had a shot at becoming the new Creatu's image, and all is fair.

It is impossible to please everyone with every revamp, but that's why we have so many pets - there should be something for everyone to like, with over 30 existing. =) Voting revamps into new creatu is a really really bad idea. We would potentially end up with many pets very similar to each other, which would equal more useless pets to bring down other pet values, extra storage space, and extra load on the server. Artists would need to be compensated for the extra time and any extra pets that resulted also - not a good fiscal move. There is also no way to ensure that voting is fair on something like this (Multiple accounts, friends joining just to vote, etc), which is why it just won't happen.

Revamps cost over $100 each, and Artists generally have better things (more cost effective projects) to do that draw a pet over and over to please a minority of unhappy users. I can say that if there was a chance I would do all the work for a revamp with the chance it wouldn't be used I wouldn't bother.
On top of that we have an extremely difficult time finding artists that can work with Rescreatu's style and quality standards.
It's just not an effective use of time or money for this kind of project.

Xeeroh basically nailed this one. Having artists draw multiple versions of the same thing takes too much resources. We're already very limited, and trust me you don't want our artists wasting their valuable time :)
