I think there should be an item available in the credit shop called the Glitched Name Tag or the Tainted Name Tag. It should cost more credits than a normal name tag and it would give players the opertunity to give their pets a 'glitchy' name, using symbols and icons instead of numbers and letters.

1) They won't be considered "glitched names" if you can just create them at will.

2) As Twint said, it will lower their value.

3) "glitch names" open room for scaming. This happened with usernames and with creatu names before. People would put a space before or after the name and con it off as the real deal.

4) "Glitch names" bother the site, as Patrick said once. Just as we can't have usernames with spaces and special characters because the URLs get screwy and coding gets jumbled.
