well, guys. Easter is all springy while in the southern hemisphere is autumn, Christmas is all snowy when in the southern hemisphere is summer.

Many people don't celebrate halloween or valentine's day.

And then, we still have those.

Now why shouldn't we have a summer solstice creatu, even if it's winter down here? It's summer in the RESCREATU world, ta-dah. Doesn't have to match the real world's seasons, does it? :3

Actually, I don't celebrate Easter (but from what I heard, easter isn't about the season... Something to do with religious stuff). But why must we have a majority of seasonals biased towards Americans? I am aware that these holidays are widely celebrated in other counrties as well, please don't say 'Well I celebrate Halloween, but I'm not American' I mean we have a fair share of holidays that Americans enjoy, why not introduce other cultures?

-America isn't a country, it's a Continent :3

Well, Christmas, Easter and Halloween weren't 'born' in the USA.

I rather liked the fish idea. xD There are some sea dragons and sea lions and amphibians on atquati, but no fish, at least none that look like fish to me...<.< >.>

Perhaps a flying fish creatu? xD Not quite a fish, but close enough?

I know that, but really all of these holidays are based for 'western' (Australia and NZ is really really far far far west I suppose) audiences. Why not a bit of change? xD

The Summer Solstice is a Pagan tradition as far as I know, Ping. As is Halloween, and Pagan traditions bring in diversity.

Pagan, Celtic or Wiken ( Is that how its spelt? ) is where it came from.

None of which originated from the Americas ;D

I support this, Besides the fact that there is a big gap in the summer between the fall, winter, and spring cluster of holidays, you have a good point.

Lolbot, The summer and winter Solstices and Spring and Autumn Eqinoxes don't have anything to do with religion.  Summer solstice is the day of the year that the sun shines the longest, while winter solstice is the day it's out the shortest.  The eqinoxes are the day that the sun and moon are dominate an equal amount of time.

I know I typoed a lot, but I'm tired and stuff.  I hope this cleared some stuff up.  I can explain more in detail if anyone needs it, just rmail me.

I have to get this thing to level 1,000. Please, help.

I'm not talking about where the holidays originate. You'd have to admit that all Easter, Christmas, Halloween and Valentine's day are all widely celebrated in the US. But if you look at other countries that's not the case. Easter and Halloween are not celebrated here (in Brunei); the only time that these holidays are ever celebrated here is by British and Australian expats and locals don't ever participate xD. Summer and winter solstices are of course not celebrated here as it's the same legth of of sun light everyday. So can we, pretty please, not be so baised towards certain areas? 8D

Summer and Winter Solstices are not celebrated in the UK greatly. They don't even count as a proper holiday to us. As far as I know, they are not celebrated with a 'holiday' in the USA. If we did get a seasonal for this 'occasion' if you want to put it that way, it would be biased towards a big amount of countries. Including my own c:

Anyway, it doesn't really matter if the Holiday does not apply to every single country, because it's the Rescreatu world, not the real world.

it can be a holiday in Rescreatu world.

I mean, we're talking about Res, not the real world :c

We've made it so that, even if Halloween, Christmas, Easter and Valentine's day aren't celebrated as holidays in every country of the Real World, they are holidays in the Rescreatu World. As well as St. Patrick's day even if we don't get a seasonal pet in that season.

There, I don't see why the people in the Rescreatu world shouldn't celebrate the 'Day of the Sun', in which the sun comes to stay the longest and brighten the day. That's what the Summer Solstice is about.

If you don't want an area biased holiday, can you think of a better idea for one then? Because as far as I know every single holiday created by man is area biased because no where in the world is the same. So unless we have a completly made up rescreatu based holiday, your probably not going to get what you want.

I support Solstice holidays. They are probaably nealy the least area biased celebrations I can think of and some of the oldest as well.

Whoa, my forum exploded. Ping, I see what you're saying but I agree with Makah, that Rescreatu isn't a country. Zul is also right, because out of all the culture and holidays from around the real world, the Solstices are most universal, despite flipping seasons.

why can't we just go back to having some of the strictly rescreatu holidays? you want something that would be universally celebrated but not regional. bring back mirabilis day and relcore day and heck, maybe even through in some new random ones. idk maybe "Palora day" or "rescreatu anniversary day" or "planet competition day". something that all people on res can celebrate and not argue about just because they don't practice a certain religion or don't live in a certain country.
