Reasonable Suggestion: Pets on banned accounts

My idea is this.

When a user is banned, no matter how long the ban is, all their pets are moved onto their profile (and/or their shop/showroom is deleted to make this easier to accomplish).

If the ban is permanent, well, problem solved. If the ban is 3 days or something, some pets may die depending on how hungry they are and how full the food pen is (if the food pen is still allowed to work). Sucks to be you, shouldn't have broken the rules. The longer the ban, the higher the chance that more pets will die. If the ban is a month long (or something), more pets will die than during a three-day ban.

When the user comes back, if the ban isn't permanent, they'd have to move their remaining pets into their shop/showroom. A hassle, sure, but again, their problem for having broken the rules.

I think this is a good solution to the problem of having pets 'stuck' on banned accounts. The current system is punishing users who play fairly by denying them any chance to get a name that belonged to a user who was banned. Please consider this.

Ty likes this, but... What if a user is banned for something they didn't do? I mean, most of the time, they could always just email and get it sorted out, but with this in place, it might be too late to get things sorted out, and all their pets could be gone. Perhaps it's an automatic thing that takes place a full week, or even a full month, after the user has been banned? Not if the user is banned for a week, but if a week has gone by and they're still banned. More than enough time to get things sorted out then.

Well now. I should... Probably put something intelligent here. At some point. Eventually.

Basically you're suggesting harsher punishment to benefit others? The ban is supposed to be the punishment, I don't like the idea of griefing people more.
Like Ty said, mistakes can and do happen, and bans might last only a short time.
Look at this scenario. A user with 100+ or so pets does something wrong. The nature of the ban is unimportant, but they're banned for two months, more than enough time for the majority, if not all, of their pets to die and possibly lose their names.
Can you imagine that? Coming back from a simple ban, ready to behave yourself, only to find you're going to have to spend millions in resurrection potions. If it were me, I'd say "screw that" and never come back.

I'd only support this idea if it was on permanent bans and occurred... I'll say one-two weeks after the ban is in place to give users a chance to clear their heads and appeal or get things sorted out.

You might be right there. I was thinking mostly about how to make it easiest for staff, that might have been my problem, haha.

Staff already dumps pets onto profiles from perma-banned accounts. It is an overwhelmingly time-consuming and tedious job, and is only done when there is spare time to do it.

We won't be doing this to accounts that get a temporary ban, though. The temporary ban is punishment in and of itself - no need to throw something else on top.
