When I saw the new mutant creatu I was really exited, I couldn't wait to see the zenirix. I was hoping for something that looked like the beastly squishy. How ever, mutant zenirix came out and it looked like a small domestic dog :P
Now don't get me wrong, mutant zenirix is awesome, as are all the other mutants.
How ever, what about something really fierce looking? Something almost insane looking? (which would kind of fit with the rabies disease)
In the case of the zenirix, I imagine it sporting a large pointy-toothed grin, wild looking eyes, maybe drooling a little.
Though how might this work for a bird creatu, they don't have any teeth. Perhaps red-eyed ruffled feathers, maybe in a position where they are screeching.
Here's where the idea gets even more novel.
Though naturally, rabies can be passed down to offspring, maybe rabies shouldn't be something that's hatched.
*brain storming*
Maybe there's an extremely rare chance your pet contracts the disease while you are exploring an area
Maybe your pets could transfer it to each other (though not in the showroom, because that seems like a bad idea)
Maybe rabid pets are more likely to die then regular ones
Maybe it only effects naturals
Maybe you could purchase a shot (not insanely expensive) so that if you don't wan't rabies on your pet(s) you can prevent it
Maybe even have it so you can't sell rabid pets in the rancher shop (because what credible rancher sells a sick animal?)

These ideas are all experimental, especially the brain storming ones, this thread is open to, welcomes, and encourages, more ideas and criticism

support! Such an amaizing idea! Just less rarer because it is hard to get alot of things nowadays...

My point with the rarer is that you know it would be a disaster if the creatu where going rabid left and right, though if it was only a very rare it would be the same thrill of maybe say hatching something really rare, but you just get it in a different way.

Anyway, thank you for the support :)

No support. Although I don't like some of the mutant designs, they wouldn't double up on similar styles.

Plus, your points for features don't really make sense. Pets die after a select number of days from not being fed. If you keep them fed, they'll live forever. And if they do die, you can just bring them back.

The point with the death thing is die easier, to give it more of a sense of rabies as in real life it is a deadly disease, they would die like any other creatu, they might just die faster. And they weren't really features, I was just brainstorming ideas that are not in any which way set in stone. Thanks for the feed back though.

I support. I like the idea and it fits in with RL, in which no animal can be spared from disease, not even the "most precious" ones.

Rabies can only affect mammals IRL, though, so maybe a made-up diisease would suffice?

Yes, it would :)
The only thing that I truly don't want to change about this idea is a fierce version of the creatu :)

I dunno. I just think it would be a lot of work, and some of the mutant's already look diseased. Besides, we recently got a load of new colours. Mutant, Calico, Achro...

Well now. I should... Probably put something intelligent here. At some point. Eventually.

Sorry I didn't specify but I didn't expect for it to affect mutants (and yeah, for some of them a mutant rabid would be really darn hard to make)

... That's not what I meant. I meant the rabid color itself would be insanely like the mutant one. It would be like making a 'black and white' even though we already have achro, or a 'muddy' even though we have calico. It'd just be doubling up. :I

I see you argument, however, lets continue with zenirix as an example.
Mutant zenirix resembles a domestic dog (corgi I think :T)
Rabid zenirix would still have the wolf frame, but maybe more emphasized teeth that are sharper looking, the creatu may also be drooling a bit.

The point is rabid would not change the basic body structure of the creatu nearly as much as mutant does

The fact is that you're using the same creatu as an example. Imagine the rodi. It already has nearly the same basic body shape, so how exactly would you turn that into a rabid creatu? :I

Ok, in general, I SUPPORT, however, not all ideas. I am going to do this my obnoxious way, in which I go through each point and explain what I support and do not support, because there are some things I would like to see happen a lot less than others. Still, awesome idea! XD  And sorry if I sound critical :( I just want to help this idea take flight, because I like it so much!!

Point 1 – Rabies shouldn't be something that's hatched. I agree. Mutants are hatched, rabies seems like a mutant-similar feature and hatching would definitely not make it unique; also it would not fit into the disease theme. DEFINITELY SUPPORT.

Point 2 – Rare chance pets contract rabies while exploring. I don't know about that. It fits the disease theme, but people should be able to explore with their Creatu without fearing it will contract rabies. That leaves the question, of course, how rabies will be contracted... I think that this idea is not inherently bad, but it'll have to be refined or used favorably in combination with different ideas before I can support it. SLIGHTLY DO NOT SUPPORT.

Point 3 – Pets with rabies are contagious unless in storage. I disapprove. I don't see what options on Creatu exist that would allow your pet to sufficiently interact with other pets, and since you have already ruled out proximity in storage as a cause, a sentiment which I agree with wholeheartedly, it does not seem viable. Perhaps certain activities could be created that would make it an option, as I think infection would be an excellent way to allow users to exert some control over their pets contracting it or not. DO NOT SUPPORT.

Point 4 – Rabid pets die faster and easier than healthy pets. I don't think that certain pets should die faster or easier than others, just because of their image appearance. That would suck. Imagine if Orchids needed more food than Gingers, or Achromatics needed a lot more training sessions than other Creatu. It's just not fair for their owners, especially in such a drastic measure as demise. -However- I think if this idea could be tweaked slightly, I would definitely support it - perhaps rabid Creatu lose more health than others when they are injured, or (very rarely) throw up what you just fed them so it doesn't increase their Hunger. DO NOT SUPPORT.

Point 5 – Rabies only affects naturals. I find this an awesome and interesting idea. It would save artists a lot of work and seems very reasonable to me. It gives people a chance to make their special but nattie Creatu physically extraordinary as well, and give natties more value in the market. ABSOLUTELY SUPPORT.

Point 6 – Inexpensive vaccinations can be purchased. I wholeheartedly encourage this motion. I think users should only be able to have a limited amount of immune Creatu at once, though. If anyone can make any pet immune, it'll kind of defeat the point of an indiscriminating disease. Yet users should have the opportunity to protect Creatu that are very important to them and that they would wish strongly to preserve in their current state. SUPPORT.

Point 7 – Rabid pets cannot be sold in Rancher shops. You ask what credible Rancher would sell a sick animal, and I think if the rabid Creatu are a success, many Ranchers will answer your call. The shoppers should choose what they want to buy, and they ought to be able to buy anything. Plus this would just end up in Pet Trading, which would be obnoxious for everyone involved who just want to buy a rabid Creatu. And people who have rabid Creatus they don't want should be able to get money by selling them. DEFINITELY DO NOT SUPPORT.

Suggestions: Perhaps rabies can be contracted from eating spoiled foods, or if your pet reaches a really low health, and only pets with these properties are vulnerable to contracting the disease. Then ideas such as Points 2 and 3 could be enacted better, because it is a result of a user's deliberate neglect.

@Yourtruly
I see your point, and without any sort of drawing of the creatu I definitely see that angle. Unfortunately, I don't have some fancy digital image making program, so I can't draw concept art :P
Either way, thanks for posting your opinion, any sort of feed back is good :L

@Hulahooper
Thanks for the feed back as well

I can see benefits and problems with selling rabid creatu, so meh, can really go either way XD

No support. Infecting a pet with a deadly disease on intention, only to get it look like you want is not morally acceptable for me, and I do not think it is suitable for a free website. And the only reason behind is that you want a fiercer looking zenirix o_0.

I'm kind of confused. If you want to de-rabie a pet, why did you pick it up in the first place?
