It's very frustrating when you are looking for a pet by name, and it doesn't show you where it is, who owns it, if it's in the forest, etc. Wouldn't it be nice if when you searched, it gave you all the details? It's very time consuming when you have to look through all of the pets ever for one name.

Any supporters?

... doesn't the pet search show all of those as a default search?

Whit, yes and no. You can search for a pet, with no guarantees on the name. You would have to go through every pet on Res. EVER. And if you search for a name, you only see if the name is taken or not.

I would love this feature!!  That way when there's a name I want to buy, I'll actually be able to find its owner!

Agh. It makes me feel horribly stubborn, but despite the ACS's recent friggin' stroke.. I still stand by my hatred of this idea. I've seen it said before (by Broken) that the search will never be this insanely simple. And I hope things stay that way.

OH. I see what you mean by "searching for a pet name". I thought you meant using the actual search, not the name checker.

Anyways. As Yosha said. I don't think it'll ever be that simple and it never should be. lol.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love this, if it weren't so hard to have it established. :P

Pretty much, unless they're looking for a specific species and color of pet, no one'll ever use the ACS anymore. So, those people who don't sell amazing names that everyone wants.. won't end up selling as much.

And then, for those who collect the amazing names and have about nine thousand of them (like Nort did), it'll probably end up with a nonstop stream of, 'Can I have this one?' Even if the person has a statement there that says they won't sell, I imagine they'll still get quite a few requests. It already happens now, and a name search would just make people do it more.

Part of the fun is stumbling on awesome names by accident.

I've run into a lot of names (and still do) that I resell for a lot or that I keep.

If players could find where a name is by simply typing it in, the search would be boring. All good names would be gone and all we'd have left are average names and junk.

I know it's a huge inconvenience and as a name collector myself I'd of course like to find things very easily, but the way it is now new players have a shot at stumbling on a "gem" that no one else noticed.

I also have fun sometimes trawling through the search for great names.

Hopefully this helps everyone understand why some of us are not fans of the idea.
