I've heard that there is a law for the pet site that kids under thirteen years of age aren't allowed to use the SB. So, I came up with this idea. What if there was a sepreate SB just for the kids? I know it would be harder to control, we have enough trouble with the Shout Box we already have, but if there were to be a superviser or two that paid attention, shouldn't there be no problem? I mean that seems kinda weird only allowing certain players to go on the SB, and others not allowed. Kinda seems like boxing them out to me. But then again it's safer that way, I understand, but on another note it's a children's site, not a chatroom random chatroom where children can get ubducted. When you sign up don't you have to put in your DOB? I was thinking that could be like used as a filter or something to allow the one SB and the regular SB. I don't know how it would work however, because I'm not a site owner. ._.

I think I suggested this on the SB once when they said that the new one wouldn't allow people under 13. I actually didn't know that I was underaged and got really confused with the whole thing. ;P When I suggested it, they said that it would still be against the rules. I was really frustrated I'd have to wait two months to turn 13. ;_; One month to go, lol. This would be something I enjoy though, as the only methods of communication I have with internet friends nowadays are going on a penguin game I've long since outgrown and have to deal with annoying filters. I don't really know whether to support or not though, but good luck with this idea. =)

Thanks for the support, Pet. I had no idea someone else had made the idea. I am rarely on the one that we have already here, I had just figured it was kind of unfair, but it made sence. I see that this idea probably won't get very far, but hey it's worht a shot, right? :3 Anyways, thank's for the support, and don't worry, just one month. xD

One month is a long time. D8 Lol, I was just like "...No...SB...for...Pet?" and then busts out like "What about one for under 13? D8 -pray pray-" I'd really like it if this was implemented- I mean like there are other sites with chatboxes like xat which you can chat on however old you are (it doesn't even ask for an age), Club Penguin (o_______o Don't ask), Aim, QQ Games...all of them you can chat on no matter what age you are. I haven't been on the SB in a while and really miss a lot of my friends. This is good that you brought it up though. =)

Hmm, my sister is under aged. XD maybe she'll be into this. Her user is cabgr*censored*.(I'm pretty sure that's her user, lol) the "*censored*" part isn'ta part off it. lol, the plant at the end of the user name happened to contain it. XD

Heh, maybe this is a better idea than I thought. :3 It does make certain users feel boxed in just because they're underaged. And it's not like their talking about innapropriate things. My brother drones about Artix Entertainment games, and form what I've learned you can chat on one called AQ Worlds. And yes, there are plenty of other's (Never palyed the penquin one, but my younger sister likes) that don't even have an age line. I wonder if Staff memeber's are either ignoring this or just havn't gotten to iot yet. ._.

sorry to say but it's not about what the site doesn't have, it's about what they're not supposed to offer to the underaged based on federal law. Patrick has no choice in it. x(

If Club Penguin is breaking the rules, that means Disney is breaking the law. o_O Lol, I had like eight year old friends on there. Glad I moved to res instead.

club penguin isnt owned by disney anymore pet. they sold it about a year ago or so. i would like this idea. im 13 and it still doesnt let me see blogs for some odd reason e.e anyway an underaged chatbox would be fun but its not exactly neccesary.

I've been on a site before with a chat room for all ages. Wasn't much users there under 13 though, but there was a few.

GO HERE Why Res must comply: "If you operate a commercial Web site or an online service directed to children under 13 that collects personal information from children or if you operate a general audience Web site and have actual knowledge that you are collecting personal information from children, you must comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. To determine whether a Web site is directed to children, the FTC considers several factors, including the subject matter; visual or au
dio content; the age of models on the site; language; whether advertising on the Web site is directed to children; information regarding the age of the actual or intended audience; and whether a site uses animated characters or other child-oriented features." We are not directed to children. Res does not have kiddy language and the target audience isn't children. This is why sites like Club Penguin can have little kiddy SBs.
